Made me tear up when you talked about missing out on time with your kids that really sucks. I hope you have a good time in Costa Rica though, it’s a really beautiful place and you’ll have a lot of fun ❤️

I’m sad that someone else’s bad choices has a negative affect on you and your children. It isn’t fair. It just isn’t. I’m also glad that you and your boyfriend seem to be on the same schedule. Enjoy your alone time together. Costa Rica sounds awesome and you’re gonna love every minute of it! 🩵

People's choices effect each other all the time. It's called life.
Hopefully most people's lives aren't completely destroyed by the government like mine was.

getting all giddy when talking about the person you are with is super cute 🥰
i guess it is a learning process to focus on yourself when you do not have your kids and having someone in your life you can enjoy this time with is a huge help.

This year you and your sweetie spend time together at your place. Cook, watch movies, go out to dinner, etc! You are doing so much better, truly! I remember when you were married, you always seemed stressed. I have been watching you for years. Take care, enjoy your future! 😊❤!

My brain deletes memories of my ex husband too! We were together for 11 years and traveled all over with our daughter. Maybe because he’s a narcissist I don’t have great memories of these trips unless it was just my daughter and it was a fun moment with her. I feel you hun. Keep up the positive attitude! You got this❤

You totally make sense! This year will be the first where I don't have my kids Xmas morning 🥺 I just remind myself that my co parent and my twins deserve to make those memories as well..and despite my divorce not being my choice either..it's all about perspective to get ourselves to be ok. 😪 But I do allow myself to feel sad for a short moment. I really enjoy your content because it's refreshing to know I'm not the only one going through what I'm going thru. Our stories have a lot of parallels! 💫

I’m @ 10 minutes in, and I have a suggestion for organizing any area.
Keeping like items together goes a long way to helping keep the kitchen organized, but also consider arranging according to what item is used where. For instance, next to the oven you have large drinking cups, and over a bit are your plates and bowls. If you think about use and flow it makes a lot of sense to have those dishes next to the stove and the cups closer to the fridge. I know that’s a while inter level of organizing and home keeping, but it’s so worth it!
Also, I love how engaging your video is, I’ll be nosing around your channel a while!

Hi! I’m a divorced lady as well but we did not have kids. He essentially did not work for the majority of our marriage so I have to pay him alimony for over 4 years 😳 I will tell you that it is hard to stop talking or negatively thinking about someone in multiple aspects of the divorce process. I only have 7 months of alimony left and I’ve already happily remarried but sending my ex money every month is one of the most infuriating things I’ve ever done 😤 thinking about you and sending happy thoughts for all divorced people in all circumstances!

Yes! This is such a great idea. Celebrate early or later. I do this with my grown children and grandkids every year for Christmas. Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are split among in-laws and the other parent, so I decided to have my own Christmas celebration with them on a different day. It still feels like Christmas and I get them all for the whole day! Best to you, your kids and your boyfriend. Also, I really feel your pain and so sad that you are sad😢

I split with my husband about a year ago. I feel a lot of what you're saying. We do shared parenting swapping every week. I've really worked on framing my weeks alone as time for me to take the best care of myself so that when I have my kid, I can give them the best me and my full attention. I focus on eating better, getting good sleep, doing what I need to around my home, having therapy, getting friend time, etc. Then I can be fully present when I'm with my kid.

I’m so glad I found your videos! I found out as an adult mom that I have ADHD and I love to see your process. Keep the instant pot! I love using it to defrost frozen meats that I’m going to use to make dinner. You can also throw leftover chicken/turkey bones, vegetables, and water in there for 60 minutes and have the most flavorful broth for soup! Also i put eggs in there on high with a cup of water for 3 minutes and transfer to a cold water bowl for the best-cooked hard boiled eggs ever. Soft golden centers not like the dried chalky crap I had as a kid. Hard boiled eggs are my favorite now.

I have a friend who has been a widow for over 20 years, she still speaks about her loss of her husband. It is a part of who she is. Your divorce is a part of your life story -- of who you are. It does affect how you live today, especially because of the kids, but also because you shared 17 years of your life with this person. That would be like telling you not to talk about being a mother when your kids grow up get married and leave the house. There is still a connection. I am saddened that others want to tell you how to feel and how you should act. You are doing a great job. Keep up being yourself.

Girl yes, thank you for sharing. I’ve seen a lot of comments of people sharing that they have had similar stories to yours and I’m also one of those people who have a similar story to you too. It seems like our kid’s dad are different pages out of the same book! ( mine did it while I was pregnant with our second daughter) So yes people will say don’t talk about it but you keep doing what makes you feel good. You deserve to do what you want. You hit me right in my heart about not having kids just to see them part time cause that’s how I feel as well with mine. We have our kids and want to see them everyday. waking up/ going to sleep without them is heartbreaking. Also love the decluttering part too lol. Keep following your instincts, I know it’s hard when there might have been a time you didn’t always because of trying to have hope in things. Videos are great and you’re a great mom.

I am relieved to not be married to someone that couldn't care less about my well-being, but having to co-parent and still communicate, coordinate, and be in their presence makes the healing process so hard.

Will be interesting to see what this declutter brings your way. Hang in there! You are on a good path!

Love the video for the motivation and your vulnerability. You're so strong and you have definitely changed my mind when it comes to forming an opinion about those that have gone thru a divorce. Everyone has their biases and opinion but you have definitely shown so much of your story that it has changed my attitude. As a Christian woman, I still struggle with accepting the idea of divorce but I can still appreciate that you are living your life for you and your boys and it is not my place to judge your situation. So thank you for your honesty and openness. Screw the haters Mai! You got this. ❤🤩

But we got divorced when she was 5, and having shared custody and not having them on holidays is definitely rough but you eventually get used to it. I also found a wonderful boyfriend who also had kids, like yourself and we have the same "off" weeks which has been pretty great for the last 9 years. Embrace the freedom to travel easily as so many of my friends cannot do this, enjoy Costa Rica!

You are absolutely right: decluttering is a long process and it takes a long time to get to a point where you can say, that's it, I'm happy with the way things are. Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sad to hear of the experiences you had. I agree, women sharing their experiences is so important. There may be someone out there, watching your video that has a light-bulb moment because, it's sad but true, but a lot of psychological abuse can be subtle. If it doesn't feel right, then it's not right. Many blessings to you and your family x

Mai I can relate with you when you said being criticized, walking on eggshells and you make the tiniest mistake and he blow up. Then you said once you realized that was not normal and you stood up for yourself that's when your marriage ended. This exact same thing happened to me. I stood up for myself and defended myself from all the lies that my husband made about me and marriage over. I spent 25 years with my husband. That's 25 years I won't get back. I spent my entire adult life with this person, only to be tossed aside like garbage. I too was a good wife. I wonder work full time, clean the house, pay bills and all that other stuff.
Thank goodness my child is an adult. I feel sad with you that you won't be with your children for the holidays.

Hi Mai. Those who are hating you for talking about your divorce clearly are just selfish and can't see last their crappy lives.
I have been watching you for years. I found your mom content and review videos. They were helpful. You are just so relatable, down to earth and humble. ❤ you deserve nothing but the best.

With your issue with the height of the shelves and the organiser maybe move your shelves 🙂 could make that hard to reach area at the top smaller and increase the space below where you need it x

I am not divorced, but I have always kept all pictures of me and my exes. I don’t repost them or scroll to reminisce but I don’t delete them. So occasionally those do come up on my memories as well.
However, my reason for not deleting is because even though the relationship didn’t end badly, it wasn’t always bad. I feel that’s the same for Mai, if she didn’t love him at some point in time, she wouldn’t have married and had kids with him. She will still have some family vacation memories with him in it but that doesn’t mean he needs to be erased. I try to remember the good times with fondness and know, even though it ended badly, I improved myself, hopefully the other person can now learn and improve themselves, and we can move on in our own ways. We don’t need to pretend it never happened because that’s how we grow as people.
