ooooooo... that first card is beautiful !! love the colours....I really like the concept of using ideas that you find but making them your own,...Thank you for sharing ...
I love that you did this video, and wow I saw some things I need to get LOL. When I teach classes I always show new stampers how to do this very thing. Take a card that you love and change it a little bit. For brand-new stampers trying to get used to using the different products, I personally don't have a problem if they start out copying a card and maybe just change the color are the stamp set, as long as they don't claim it as their own. CASE: Copy and share everything 🤗 that was the first time I had seen that foil cutter actually used. So far I'm not a fan LOL there is a lady who does a ton of foiling and her channel is Nancy Stamps. She cuts her so easy using a rolling quilting cutter. I know there's a name for it looks like a pizza cutter. Just on her glass mat or even a self-healing mat and she just lays a little out rolls it right over and it cuts like a charm. Guess what's in my Amazon cart right now LOL if you don't make friends with that cutter you might want to try that pizza cutter Style.
Justine I loved this! I also watched the video on not buying too much. Something we all need to hear again and again... and then once more! Your cards are beautiful and your suggestions are so helpful! Thank you 🙏
Thanks Justine for great inspiration and positivity! Like everyone, I struggle sometimes with coming up with ideas, even color choices, so scanning the web for ideas, and color combos, is something I need to do more of, rather than giving up when I get stuck or overwhelmed with products on my craft table.
Just found your TH-cam and straight away I am in love with your sensible storage boxes that say what’s in them - simple , elegant and blooming genius !
Your cards from inspiration are beautiful. I do this too. I’ll look at a card to get a start and then totally make it my own. I love how you have your boxes in the background. So nice and neat looking.
This may sound like a cliché.....but its the TRUTH...YOU ARE ALWAYS ROCKING IT! I can't wait to try out your ideas for Christmas. Last year I purchased the stamps you used....So I gotta go get stuff for this year! Thanks for the inspiration ❤
Wow! That was a huge project completed in a very short time Justine! Last year I made the my batch of Christmas cards in a weekend ... 12 in total!!! 😜 Your cards are all beautiful, and I like you spending time in writing personalized messages for each recipient. Amazing job.
Thank you Justine, as always watching you create has given me inspiration and motivation to start my cards, in fact I now excited. I will also watch your additional video while creating so I am creating along side of you. Hope you are well. :)
Gorgeous cards! I bought the pinecone background stamp last year and embossed several in copper, several in gold and one in silver, all on black. Oh my, they were so elegant! Thanks were sharing your card ideas!
Thank you for sharing this. Loved the original cards and loved your cards as well. Those poinsettias from the ton are so stunning - and I loved the berry branches too. It would be great if you could just lie the cards flat, or your backgrounds and leave them for a second - because I know you're conscious of time, but a couple of extra seconds for us to absorb what we're seeing would be great and wouldn't run your time over. Thanks so much.
Anytime I want to view something longer than it's on screen, I pause the video. It allows me to look for as long as I want and to zoom in, if I want. Have you tried that? Maybe it'll work for you too.
I just went on Amazon and bought the Spellbinders Glimmer Plate system, due to this video! I bought the upgrade, maybe the same as yours, but I got it for 90 bucks! I also have the large Minc, but I don’t always want the hassle or cost of the toner paper/supples to deal with! Awesome cards!
I'm excited to a part of your journey, can't wait to start working with you. I didn't know that was they way being on a design team is like. Way to go being honest is my favorite thing. Thank you for probably saying what everyone else feels like but can't say it. Thank u. See ya 2020 Hello 2021
I love these cards Justine, you are very talented. Can you please tell me where you got the Harry Potter svg file. I have looked on etsy but couldn't find it.
OMG Justine WOW Your cards are all Breathtaking Gorgeous!! What a GREAT Topic as I was Struggling with ideas for a few Christmas Cards so went into my own Binders where I keep printed sheets with the pics of my cards and the recipes....and created away...and I'm talking 2013 they were created and then I just changed them up a bit!!! So I was Extremely interested and intrigued with what you were going to share...and My oh My your ideas are Beyond Brilliant and Ingenious to say the least!! It was amazing to watch you in creative action and your stamped images were a sight to behold....the flowers are so beautiful and the colors are so Pretty!! You really never cease to amaze anyway with what you come up with always!! That foiling system was quite amazing and results is magnificent!! Thanks for your Outstanding Tutorial and Sharing your Tremendously Terrific Tips, Tricks & Techniques!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
Thank you for sharing 🤶🏻🙏🏼🎅🏼 I would love to have a diecutter, and the foilheater, but they are so expensive here in 🇩🇰 DK, can you maby say if there is a store online, where I can get one, that is not so expensive?❓❓❓ Happy crafting.
It’s hard to say as everyone’s idea of expensive is different. I bought mine through Craft Stash when I moved to Europe. Crafter’s companion also makes one which may be cheaper since they are a British company.
Just love your ideas and explanations in this video. The music was a bit distracting. In a class or lecture music isn’t playing and it would be lovely to just hear you. Thanks, Justine.
It also depends on how the brain is wired. :D Music commands attention over words regardless of volume for some people. There’s a reason background music isn’t played by public speakers (other than sometimes at the beginning or end) or in a class.
If I try to copy a card exactly, it comes out WAY different than the inspired card. Kind of like that show "Nailed it" LOL Thank you for another great video.
Hi First of all when did you get curly hair? Its really cute. Now if you can please tell me the truth...Are Catherine Pooler inks really that outstanding. I want to get new inks and do you think its a good investment to dive into the whole set.. It would be my Christms present to me. The cost is $177 for the 30 colors. PS it was goo to see you and the cards are brilliant.
Hi Therese, my hair is curly when I don't blow dry it. And I'm always here to tell the truth. They are outstanding. They are the best ink out there that I have tried so far BUT, you need the refills. That is the downside. For example, I made about 20 blended backgrounds with them last week. I needed to refill immediately afterwards, they were nearly dry by the last few cards. Stamping of course is a different story - especially if you don't do a lot of solid stamping. They'll last you a while...but again, refills will be needed much faster than dye ink pads. What I love is that they are vibrant. They don't contaminate (if I stamp in red, I can quickly wipe the stamp and stamp in yellow and I don't get discolouration). I love that they stamp solid stamps with no issues. You don't need every colour of course, maybe cut your list in half and get a light and dark colour of each and then get the refills. You won't be disappointed. Just remember love taps when inking your stamps. They aren't the ink pads you need to slam into your stamp to get to work like many out there :)
@@justinehovey Thank you so very much. I did order 3 of the minis packs. Now I guess I should get the reinkers pretty soon. And I still love the curly hair. Thanks again.
@@justinehovey which inks can do that? I cannot get a good sentiment from distress inks and I cannot blend well with my other inks. Is it a special kind of ink you used?
@@preeves72 All dye inks will be able to do it, it just takes practice and proper cardstock - aside from the distress inks (the original with the black casing). Distress oxides (grey case) stamp much more crisply than the regular distress line and can do it. In this video, I'm using Catherine Pooler Inks to blend and stamp.
TFS I like to make my own version too. However I am getting older and seem to take more time to create so I end up copying more of the ideas with products I have on hand. I just subscribed to your channel and I definitely will watch more videos. I really like your blended backgrounds. 🤗 Kay
I just can’t bring myself to buy any foiling machines because then you have to purchase all the plates, etc. I really love using embossing powder though! TYFS ❤️🦋💜
