    I never copy cards or paintings exactly. I take what I like most about it, color pattern, type of flowers, design, image, etc. Then I use different papers, stamps etc to create my own idea. Great video. Thank you.

    never thought of using pinterest for inspiration, i watch a lot of videos and rarely use pinterest but now has a reason to try it :) and i too like the idea of putting own spin on things i see... its how i become inspired to make a memory book for a pet, was so lost at first but one idea led to another idea and now i have a plan to work with and soon the materials and the fun begins... thank you for these videos, keep smiling! ~ happy crafting!

    Gosh! This video is fantastic! I often “copy” and find inspiration from YT videos and Pinterest cards.
    Love your take on ALL of them using what you already own. Your video about not buying on impulse
    Has helped me so much too. I had started but that video (and the hoarding paper) gave me the last push I needed.
    This video is a perfect example of working with what is in your stash!

    I am not good in giving card designs my own twist, so your thought process- what makes the card of the other creator what it is and what appeals to me?- is very valuable. Also, Press‘N Seal.😍 I can do that now!!!💃🏻And last but not least- great choice in soccer.😉

    Very useful. I think in the case of the [original] leaf dies for which you used flowers, I'd cut it six times in white and use markers to color the pieces rather than cut it so many more times. I'm also interested in cutting outline dies and also embossing them on a white card-sized panel and coloring in the embossed panel. You can use markers for solid areas or various blending techniques if you're adventurous. I'd use my Copics, which I don't blend with as often as I do my waterbased markers, so it would exploit their color families without requiring blending.

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a door knob essentially attached to a piece of wood. It helps you get even pressure when stamping using the stamping tool, or I use it to help keep things glued down when drying. It's made by a lovely lady in the USA who is recently retired and started her own business. The link is in the description, I don't think shipping is that high last time I checked.

    I believe, as artists, that we ALL copy things to a degree. Whether it be from others or from the creations of God Himself 😁. In all truthfulness, none of us are THAT creative! When I first started to make cards (and your gluing technique on the vellum reminded me of this little trick) I learned to take a piece of wax paper. Place it over top of the piece to be glued and then rub gently to stick it down. Helps keep it IN place and doesn't get all over you too. Works for highly detailed die cuts and even larger non-detailed die cuts. Just an idea.

  • @RachelRamey
    @RachelRamey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure at what stage you added the Press-n-Seal, but it doesn't seem like that's the most efficient way to get the pieces inset. Seems like it would be easier to place the whole cutout over the white outline, and then press them all into place at once, rather than taking them all out one by and one and putting them in.

    • @justinehovey
      @justinehovey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before die cutting. I find if the pieces are bigger, it's a possibility. But if these flowers (and the amount of them) start getting mixed up and each piece is a different size, it becomes so time consuming
