I’ve had my AFM Delete module plugged in for almost 20,000 miles now not a single issue. I’ve noticed it solved my burning oil issue also from dropping to V4. I have 129,000 miles on my 2014 Sierra and still driving like the day it drove off the lot 🤘

Ran one of these on my 2008 Silverado years back and loved it. I bought it for the aftermarket exhaust I put on and found out later about motor issues when switching from v4 to v8 and was really glad I did it 👍

Installed one on my 17 High Country 6.2L and year after I bought it new.. Had no issues and the gas mileage didn't change at least nothing worth talking about. All in all a good device. Enjoy yours and keep us up to date with it. Nova Scotia fan

Love mine in my 2015 1500 LTZ. I’ve had it plugged in for the last 1200 miles. So much more responsive and no more exhaust helicopter effect. Mileage has gone UP for me.

I have a 2018 z71 and been getting 18-19mpg with afm turned off via Superchips tuner. Stock tires with a leveling kit. Runs a lot smoother than with it on. Also noticed the helicopter sound through my 3" dynomax exhaust before when it went into 4cyl mode. Keep up the good content 💪👊

After my #8 cylinder lifter failed the 2nd time I put the range disabler in.. I have had no issues since, for several years, no codes, works great. And I could feel the shutter when in v4 mode before.

Bought one 3 days ago with a K&N air filter for my 11 GMC Sierra. Went from average 16l/100kms to 13l/100kms on the highway. 2 hours of driving cruise control set at 110kms/hr. Feels like it accelerates better too.

Just installed the Range Technologies plug in on my 2012 Suburban Z71. The engine runs much better, especially when I come to a stop. When it shifted to V4 it ran really rough. The transmission even shifts much smoother. Best 200 bucks I ever spent

I've had the range in my 2012 tahoe ppv for about 6 months no problems no lights and I've noticed an improvement in gas mileage because I don't have to stab the throttle to get it out of v4 mode witch cuts your gas mileage back a lot

After having my '14 Silverado for a year I was starting to regret having it because of how much I hated how it drove and how the shifting behaved. I came from a 5spd tacoma and was starting to miss it. I ended up going with a black bear tune and while it was pricey, it completely changed the manners of the truck for the best. It's much more fun to drive now and holds gears so much better. Driving out my road which has lots of turns and hills, it doesn't constantly shift to v4 and back and improved my fuel economy by 2mpg. My friend picked up an 09 with the 5.3 and told him to immediately get the range device to remove the DOD if nothing else and he noticed 2-3 mpg improvement as well. It also should save him from having to get the engine rebuilt due to all of the issues that comes with DOD.

So I’ve been running the range for awhile it’s a very good product but keep in mind that the range is just a band aid for the afm delete it’s not meant to be on it for a very long time spand I recently bought the edge evolution cts2 I strongly advise getting it keeps the truck in v8 mode helps your transmission out a ton with reliability and gives you a lot more power strongly suggest this product stay up out there and hope you have a great day

I use their new model for DFM/AFM (manufactured 01/29/2020) on my '19 5.3 Z71. The truck feels so much better to drive. It never comes out of V8 mode and as an added bonus, the disabler makes the auto Stop/Start no longer work which I love. I hated having to disable the Stop/Start manually each time I got in the truck.

Wish I knew about this when I had my 2013. I was going thur 2 quarts of oil every 3k which caused it to need a motor swap at 48k miles on it. I got a 2018 now because I heard they fixed the issue. Apparently not. I'll be buying one soon. And yes v4 to v8 mode sucks, you can definitely feel and hear it.

Just sold my '08 Yukon, 5.3V8. Never liked the fuel management system. Would have to downshift to 3rd to make it up hills. Or, when in "D," there would be a long pause or shudder before all eight cylinders would kick in.

    • @dustinj7028
      @dustinj7028 ปีที่แล้ว

@831CaliSavage I have had no problems. The truck stays in v8 like it's supposed to. Mpg is still the same. I do mostly city driving. I was on vacation for two weeks out of the country, and the truck started right up, and my battery is 4 years old, so people saying it will kill a battery must have a weak battery. I buy good batteries in my vehicles. No codes ever popped up. Worth every penny. AFM is a guaranteed death to the lifters. Yes, some people will get lucky and put a lot of miles with afm active, but why chance it. It's just a horrible design.

Ford does not use AFM, their Ecoboost (turbo charged engines) program met epa standards. The AFM issue is far overblown compared to the millions on the road.
The new system GM uses is DFM(Dynamic Fuel Management) shuts down to one cylinder.
Chrysler’s MDS is far more problematic due to an inferior lifter design.

Thanks! Seems like if you do it that way, leave it in 8th it’s not really in 8th gear all the time. It’ll still up shift and downshift like normal just won’t go into V4 mode. For example if you put it in 4th gear it’ll shift normal 1-4th and go no higher. Hope that makes sense!!

    • @JohnWargo93

It’s doesn’t add any power at all.. just keeps her in all 8 cylinders at all times. Feels a lot better, and more like a truck. Where the power is right at the crack of your foot, vs. the cpu having to think what mode it should be in and then reacting accordingly.

Honestly not sure.. I sold that truck close to 2 years ago now. I’ve towed often with that truck, but can’t remember if that was ever plugged in during.

So I bought a 2018 Tahoe. The first two months it was perfect. Then it had a communication error and it stalled. The dealership ran a program update. But every since I got it back I’m constantly feeling like a hesitation when accelerating. When I press the gas nothing happens. I have to wait a few seconds then it will speed up. I have to slam on the gas the truck will lurch forward and then go. Could this be related to afm?
