@@BrittonFilmmaker I think the main reason people were skeptical was one of the first images we got of him as the witcher which honestly looked like ass. the hair was super shiny silver and just looked off and it looked like he had some weird makeup on and it just didn't look good. the next images they released were a huge "damn he does fit the bill" moment for many people
There’s an interview with him where he says that he literally became a recluse for 3 years playing WoW, around 2010. Only thing that snapped him out was getting the Man of Steel part. He also says in this interview that he’s a big Total War fan.
Benjamin Sanchez any actor or artist, appreciates a good story. The books are excellent, as is the game. Hell I even took my wife to go see Frozen 2, because I enjoy a good story. And as a novice author, you can find inspiration anywhere and from any story.

As for astartes, he engineered them himself to be servants of the Imperium, not mercenaries as witchers are. While you have a point about the mutants in the guard, you should also realize that mutants are still somewhat of a lower status than normal humans in the Imperium and you can see that in the hierarchy of the hive cities and underhives. Seems like you might need to brush up on your lore.

Throughout the entire game I imagined it to be an actual unicorn that got stuffed, like you would hunt down a bear and stuff it. It all made so much more sense after I saw that it was a toy. I always imagined them sitting atop the unicorn, doing it. Maybe the unicorn's dong was stuffed too and that played a part, idk.

Cavill was the absolute perfect casting choice for this because he deeply and properly understands Geralt’s character and clearly loves these stories. Absolutely brilliant for us as fans that we’re lucky enough to have someone so committed to the role and stories to bring them to life.
The best part about it is he didn't even learn about the source material after hearing about the role he is a huge fan of the series and it shows in how passionate he is about it

That's a common practice, you have to match horses to your actors. In big battle scenes, they tend to hire riders and dress them up rather than hire actors and teach em to ride. On the other hand, sometimes they do it the other way, like giving characters that are supposed to be inexperienced misbehaving horses.
I still can’t believe this is for real. I’m more excited for this than I was for game of thrones. I am going to binge this series like no other series in my life. I’m gonna binge it without blinking once. This show is just another reason why Netflix is king! NETFLIX > ALL.

This is second TV series in Witcher franchise, first one was only released in some European countries tho. And unfortunately, public focused on cinematic 2hrs version which was absolutely crap, because of that nobody took a better look at TV series (13 episodes, about 45 minutes each), which was ACTUALLY quite good, considering low budget and poor technology (that was in early 2000's)
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH is my simple reaction to this INCREDIBLE and perfect interpretation on screen of the amazing character of Geralt! Having read the books, it's such a relief to see that in the series, it's going to be as awesome. Henry is such a great actor! He's absolutely perfect!
I wish people would stop doing that. The stories and worlds are very different, but most importantly, the story-telling mechanism is vastly different. There are only three major point of view characters in the Witcher (with a few minor ones), while Game of Thrones tells the story equally from about ten different points of view. Not to mention the much tamer magic in Game of Thrones.
@@EliteTeamKiller2.0 Game of Thrones is very political and deals with themes that are mostly non-fantasy. It also has a rich backstory which is often alluded to but that is the extent of the world that has been created. Witcher is almost all fantasy based and magic is a huge aspect of the story. Whilst it does deal with politics at times, it is not usually the main focus and the focus is centred around its characters and their motivations. Game of Thrones became too linear and the character motivations were unjustified in later seasons. The story was also not convincing considering the main focus was to make the final season grand and a spectacle. They really needed to target the show towards its characters rather than simply telling the story from the plots point of view. That is what made earlier seasons great and then the writers seemed to have forgotten what made Game of Thrones so great.

It's surprising how the opions on Cavill have completely turned around. And I concur, eventhough I was skeptical at first, now I feel like Cavill has done an excellent job at understanding and emulating the character of Geralt. Will know for sure once it releases.
I've read the Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, and I'm halfway through Blood of Elves. From what I see between those two, they've got it down and I love it.

Cavill was the absolute perfect casting choice for this because he deeply and properly understands Geralt’s character and clearly loves these stories. Absolutely brilliant for us as fans that we’re lucky enough to have someone so committed to the role and stories to bring them to life.

That's a common practice, you have to match horses to your actors. In big battle scenes, they tend to hire riders and dress them up rather than hire actors and teach em to ride. On the other hand, sometimes they do it the other way, like giving characters that are supposed to be inexperienced misbehaving horses.

This is second TV series in Witcher franchise, first one was only released in some European countries tho. And unfortunately, public focused on cinematic 2hrs version which was absolutely crap, because of that nobody took a better look at TV series (13 episodes, about 45 minutes each), which was ACTUALLY quite good, considering low budget and poor technology (that was in early 2000's)

I wish people would stop doing that. The stories and worlds are very different, but most importantly, the story-telling mechanism is vastly different. There are only three major point of view characters in the Witcher (with a few minor ones), while Game of Thrones tells the story equally from about ten different points of view. Not to mention the much tamer magic in Game of Thrones.

@@EliteTeamKiller2.0 Game of Thrones is very political and deals with themes that are mostly non-fantasy. It also has a rich backstory which is often alluded to but that is the extent of the world that has been created. Witcher is almost all fantasy based and magic is a huge aspect of the story. Whilst it does deal with politics at times, it is not usually the main focus and the focus is centred around its characters and their motivations.
Game of Thrones became too linear and the character motivations were unjustified in later seasons. The story was also not convincing considering the main focus was to make the final season grand and a spectacle. They really needed to target the show towards its characters rather than simply telling the story from the plots point of view. That is what made earlier seasons great and then the writers seemed to have forgotten what made Game of Thrones so great.

It's surprising how the opions on Cavill have completely turned around.
And I concur, eventhough I was skeptical at first, now I feel like Cavill has done an excellent job at understanding and emulating the character of Geralt.

Loved this show! Hope they get a season 2. Geralt is a very compelling character, and that stuff is what I’m here for! Henry Cavill did a great job emoting his vulnerabilities and complex emotions.
I remember when this all started with some posters made in photoshop by a random dude, saw it on instagram and a few days later Henry published it on his account, couldn't contain the hype. LOOKS AMAZING!
