@@Jacktheking400 The graphics are absolutely astounding for its time too. The fur is so detailed on Fox and Krystal (please don't call me a furry) and the water looked beautiful. Rare used to be wizards.
I never played the original starfoxes but I still remember this game as one of the best on the gamecube and still one of the best adventure type games i ever played. Try and judge this game for what it is, not what its predecessors were.
This era of Jontron was peak. I remember watching this and the banjo kazooie video and I was instantly hooked. What’s even more special is I relate because I grew up with the games he played: God bless Jontron.
You do know that names and brands don't change in translation, like how every language says Nintendo the same way. However, General Scales is a stupidly English name. Considering their language, he more likely would've been called WEEDO OODAVEER CONSADO. I guess they just needed a spooky villain name that all kids could understand.
Excuse me? Have you ever read the rules of the internet? Because you need to be referred to number 34. By that I mean that there is porn of pretty much everything, so if it really upsets you that much I don't to see how you can stay awake at night.
This was actually one of the first games I played when I got my first console (the GameCube, I gotta say I actually really liked it as a kid... the atmosphere was great, you got to go to different planets and some of the later missions were super challenging, I get that it doesn’t align with other star fox games and everyone was pretty complainy about that. But If you take it for what it is you can actually have a lot of fun at it.
Yeah, about the same here. Also liked some of the background music and the architectural designs. I remember one place that looked like a temple that had water columns. Looked amazing.
The sequel was probably more what Star Fox fans were looking for when Adventures came out. It definitely had a better mix of ground/flying levels and I honestly enjoyed both a lot and still do
I loved this game as a kid when I had my gamecube. Still have this game packed away in my closet. I guess I understand why starfox fans could complain about it but I loved every step of this game.
I don't care what anyone says, I loved this game as a kid. I also like Krystal as a character. I mean, she spent the whole game in a crystal, (very clever, Rare) but she got more personality in later games. Krystal is hot.
I never grew up with the older Star Fox games(even though we did have the starfox game for SNES) so i didn't have any pre-conceived notions of what the game was about and I for one was not disappointed with it all. It remains one of my favorite GameCube games of all time.
I don't know about it being one of the best Gamecube games. It had its moments, like trying to get past the T-Rexs towards the end of the game. But some of it was also downright tedious. Overall I think it was a pretty decent adventure game for it's time, there was just no reason at all for it to be a Starfox game.
I don't know how old you are but i'm only 24 and I grew up with a SNES and an N64. Starfox Adventures was a terrible game. Bad mechanics, dodgy camera controls and a platform system lifted from zelda, it was pretty bad. The voice acting was god awful as well. Star fox and Starfox 64 were masterpieces, not just compared to this game but in their own right. I completed it all with 100% everything found which isn't hard because it's so damn easy with no variety or challenge presented to you. You need to get yourself an N64, a Snes and a NES and appreciate some good games.
I'm 19 years old and did grow up with the SNES and N64. I had 2 older brothers who also liked games. I have played the starfox games for SNES i still have it in fact and play if from time to time buy ive never payed starfox for the N64 but i still stand by what i said. i really like starfox adventure and it remains one of my favorite GameCube games.
***** I play across a wide breadth of consoles including being a PC gamer. I know good and bad games when I see them. Star Fox adventures wasn't absolutely horrible, just nothing special and especially disappointing to fans of Star Fox and Lylat Wars (Starfox 64 to you yanks).
metalmusician6798 Ya know what I think we have. What a coincidence! I must compliment your outstanding taste in youtubers. Also, I met Metallica last month and was on stage with them. What a world huh?
Doing a marathon run of JonTron videos while sick and this instantly clicked as the first video I watched that made me aware of this dude, as well as the fact that he had something special. Pretty sure I watched this days after he uploaded it
I see Starfox Adventures as something that most people would view Super Mario Sunshine. They decide to make a game that is essentially a spin-off of the original series totally different from the main games, and everyone either gets pissed off or they love it. Also, since it's called Starfox ADVENTURES you could probably expect to do some adventuring on a random planet instead of shooting stuff in space.
Aw... Looks like he didn't get too far into the game. That's too bad, there's soooooo much more to complain about. Lightfoot village, Tricky's racism towards cloudrunners, the Crystal innuendos, the level design completely falling apart near the end, Falco, the final boss...
I cant believe this is the first JonTron video I've ever seen and it is almost 10 years old. I was a kid. Discovered game grumps through this when Jon was still there. Simpler times
It's weird... but I think I would have loved this game if it weren't a Starfox game. I don't know why, but that lazy injection of Starfox makes the game worse for me, somehow. Such a pity.
Well, I mean there'd need to be a lot more improvements, but my point is that this game took a turn for the worst (multiple times) when it looks like it had the potential to be a fun game. Its own series, even.
Let's just say if you bought a drink in the market which looks like coke, smells like code and named itself "coke" but it tasted like soy sauce, you would be mad as well regardless how good it is as soy sauce.
Starfox Adventures is actually one of my favorite games of all time. Admittedly, it may be because I love image art and design as well as well as playing it first rather than the original Starfox. I mean you can rage against the lack of similarities but this game was and still is beautiful in its artistic design.
Yep absolutely the best looking game on the GC. Art, atmosphere and music are all top tier. Played through again recently and still one of my favourite games of all time.
I think the fictional language thing sounds stupid because it sounds so unnatural. The voice talent enunciates EVERY syllable, and it sounds like garbage. If they actually spoke with a flow, it'd sound like watching a movie with people speaking a foreign language, and it'd be all right.
I mean, it was basically just a simplified Zelda clone with super short Star Fox levels added as travel intermissions. The game plays fine. It's biggest sin is pretty much just the promise of Star Fox content that it absolutely doesn't deliver on.
I still love the "Blue Boobs McFurry Dream" part.

I remember feeling this way. I played Starfox 64 growing up and it was one of my favorite. Makes me understand why I didn't finish this one. 64 better

Who really likes this shit of a game?
Man I fucking loved this game as a kid the graphics blew my mind.. i mean look at that water. I thought it was pretty good...
***** Uhuhuhuh u su funny..
***** EXACTLY! why do you think wind waker had water EVERYWHERE. cuz they loved water
***** shh alright
Are you that Miiverse user who buys every single game and just makes posts about how pretty the water is?
Deku Scrubber Yes.
I played this game for probably a cumulative 1000+ hours in my childhood. Loved the shit out of it.
in my opinion it’s really a good game, i don’t understand what the problem is with it
@@Jacktheking400 It’s the gaming boomer community bro. I guarantee these days where people desire more open worlds, it would’ve gotten a bigger fan base.
@@wifi961 agreed
@@Jacktheking400 The graphics are absolutely astounding for its time too. The fur is so detailed on Fox and Krystal (please don't call me a furry) and the water looked beautiful. Rare used to be wizards.

Is anyone else as impressed as i was that Jacques was able to hold on during Jon's opening rant?
That bird just ain't right.
+ZomIIXC I think his wings are clipped
Jontron’s frequent use of the transformers soundtrack makes me happy
I'd argue the best damn thing about that movie.
Me too, it's one of the best movie soundtracks
Nothing beats classic JonTron. His new stuff just really hits or misses
I remember when TH-cam didn't have ads.
Better yet, not 2 or 3 in a row. UNSKIPPABLE!!😤😤🙄😑
I never played the original starfoxes but I still remember this game as one of the best on the gamecube and still one of the best adventure type games i ever played. Try and judge this game for what it is, not what its predecessors were.
But the thing is we had the legend of Zelda for Nintendo's signature adventure franchise. However this was a fun game.
Falco was in the game, he appeared to help you with the final boss.
Jon wouldn't know. He didn't play enough of it
he left the team because he wasn't getting paid enough
That's not enough Falco.
That ain't Falco

then who is it?
The way he says freedom at 15:27 still gets me 9 years later
I'm on my yearly Jontron re-watch marathon. Who else is joining me?
I actually liked Starfox Adventures a lot. It was the first ever Zelda I finished.
you don't say...
Good on ya m8. :)
really? did you 100% it?
the vegeta gamer Yes, although it's not so hard to accomplish that on SFA (unlike other Rare games such as Donkey Kong 64)
People had to enjoy this game, the amount of porn that surrounds it is proof. That's how I discovered girl fox
If you set aside preconceived notions and look at it as a stand alone title, this was a good game. I loved it back when I first got my Gamecube.
Happy 10 year anniversary to this video, can’t believe he’s been here this long
Damn, watching old JonTron is like going back in time.
am I the only one who likes this game...
No. I loved the game and I had played SF and SF64 prior to it.
I loved it too
Finally, some people who likes that game.
Same here :D
It has it's flaws, but I loved it. This review shows the bad side of "angry reviewers", they have to exaggerate problems to give us content.
bu...bu...but i really liked that game... :'( (of course i was a kid and knew nothing about starfox but the ship)
yep... anyway... esch one has their own will and power i say
I loved it too but I always felt even back then that it didn't feel like a proper sequel and the actual spaceship gameplay was kind of bad.
This era of Jontron was peak. I remember watching this and the banjo kazooie video and I was instantly hooked. What’s even more special is I relate because I grew up with the games he played: God bless Jontron.
The part with the demon slippy is literally the funniest thing i've ever seen.

You do know that names and brands don't change in translation, like how every language says Nintendo the same way. However, General Scales is a stupidly English name. Considering their language, he more likely would've been called WEEDO OODAVEER CONSADO.
I guess they just needed a spooky villain name that all kids could understand.

It really sucks how furries have ruined humanoid animals. You can't see them anymore without their fan bases turning it into something sexual.

Oops turns out my humor a decade ago is the same because this shit is hilarious
12:21 "I never cared so little about anything in my life."
I lost it.
It’s a good game, nostalgic
The sequel was probably more what Star Fox fans were looking for when Adventures came out. It definitely had a better mix of ground/flying levels and I honestly enjoyed both a lot and still do
I loved this game as a kid when I had my gamecube. Still have this game packed away in my closet. I guess I understand why starfox fans could complain about it but I loved every step of this game.
I've been replaying it for nostalgias sake and yeah I'm legit enjoying it XD
"Those who can't teach... preach, and those who teach also teach." Profound.
Error error error error
I don't care what anyone says, I loved this game as a kid. I also like Krystal as a character. I mean, she spent the whole game in a crystal, (very clever, Rare) but she got more personality in later games.
Krystal is hot.
I never grew up with the older Star Fox games(even though we did have the starfox game for SNES) so i didn't have any pre-conceived notions of what the game was about and I for one was not disappointed with it all. It remains one of my favorite GameCube games of all time.
That profile pic, it's so majestic

Wooo John Tron rewatch marathon!
Welp, new year, new binge of Jontron Videos.
As a StarFox game I can see why it's lackluster, but as just a game (minus the low budget), it's not half bad.
If they'd kept it as just Dinosaur Planet instead of lazily slapping on a popular nintendo IP, I think it might have been not half bad.
Yeah, I enjoyed it actually.
A metallica and jontron fan. I'm not alone! Mop is a great album, legendary almost

Starfox assault is my favorite starfox game
Same!
Agreed.
Minus the tedious ground missions, it could have been better.
Seriously Namco, at least ONE linear ground mission.

I've played licensed games that had better level design and controls than Assault.
Best Multiplayer in the series by far
My first jontron video. Man do the years go by
Doing a marathon run of JonTron videos while sick and this instantly clicked as the first video I watched that made me aware of this dude, as well as the fact that he had something special.
Some Guy I was wondering why Falco hasn't appeared yet... Oh no please dont tell me they didn't ruin his character model like the others
Tyler Chenoweth Falco is transformed in a Deus Ex Machina at the end
MariGamer Uh, English? I never seen or played deus ex
Tyler Chenoweth Oh sorry. English is not my native language. What i meant is that Falco just apears in the end to save the day at the last moment
MariGamer I didn't mean that I was being sarcastic. Like I said, I never played nor seen Deus ex
It’s surreal how much I remember after watching it again like 8 years later. These videos definitely shaped my sense of humor.

+LunarD3A7H That's because that's what it was meant to be. Dinosaur Planet could have been ok, but as a Starfox game, it's just disappointing.
Totally agree, seems a shame it wasn't allowed to be its own franchise
LunarD3A7H I didnt mind it i just thought it was kinda weird
just play zelda dude
This game was amazing. I played the shit out if it when I was younger and so did my friends. I will never understand the hate it receives.
Same here. Still one of my favourite games, certainly has some of the best art, visuals and atmosphere of any game of the time.

I think the fictional language thing sounds stupid because it sounds so unnatural. The voice talent enunciates EVERY syllable, and it sounds like garbage. If they actually spoke with a flow, it'd sound like watching a movie with people speaking a foreign language, and it'd be all right.

Amazing that this is still hilarious 12 years later
I'd like to say I've seen this too many times... But we all know there's no such thing as rewatching a JonTron video too many times.
I classify this game as a guilty pleasure.
It had it's problems, but it was still fun for those who were able to find it.
Aww yiss.
Anything is funny following that dumb logic
@@Big_Dai What are you implying?
I mean, it was basically just a simplified Zelda clone with super short Star Fox levels added as travel intermissions.
The game plays fine. It's biggest sin is pretty much just the promise of Star Fox content that it absolutely doesn't deliver on.
