love it!!!! the colors look so nice together! i was going to paint all my cabinets white but now i am thinking of your look!
The kitchen turned out beautifully. I'd call the bottom cabinet color Antique Mason Jar Blue.
@@paddlegal3097 I hadn't realized that but you nailed the color name!
Melissa, it looks incredible! Really excellent job!! My jaw dropped to the floor when you said nine coats of the white paint...and then you turn to the camera and say "I know." 😂 You knew my jaw dropped like that.
It's stunningly beautiful. I love it!!! 🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍
Great choice of paint! A friend of mine started her own furniture store and sells it. I love the blue you chose! I chose the color "Iron Gate" to repaint our bottom half of the kitchen. Our top half is white also.
It all looks so beautiful!
Oh Melissa it looks so good!
I really like the cabinets and the paint color.
Looks wonderful! Love the classic subway tile on the back.
Excited for you!!! Love the blue paint on the cabinets 💞
Beautiful Kitchen!!!!!!!
Melissa, so happy for you that you have a Café stove! I had to replace my gas stove top 3yrs ago and went with the gas top, electric/confection ovens. I painted my cabinets 4yrs ago and it's time for another paint job. Love the color blue you picked.
I’m so excited for you!!! 😊. Congratulations on the new kitchen! We love a gas stove!! Enjoy!
Very timely as we are talking about doing the same thing with our kitchen cabinets and have a lot of the same issues you talked about. Your kitchen is looking great! Thanks for sharing this!
I have followed you for years....and this paint is made/shipped in my town! 😊
Love this look!! I've had the Heirloom Traditions paint in the dark charcoal but have commitment issues. Our kitchen also doesn't get much light. Love your mason jar blue!
Beautiful! I love that blue! I painted our wood cabinets a few years ago and it took forever!!!! I vowed never to paint cabinets again 😂
Absolutely, beautiful! ❤
Beautiful! I am so impressed with your cast iron. Mine aren't so gorgeous. I need to learn more about care of them I guess.
I am leaving my dark cabinets at the nottom and painting top cabinets whitish, off white so this is perfect timing & love the 2 tone look!!
Beautiful!!! But 12, Twelve, 12 Coats?! I just could not!! But it is Gorgeous!!! Nice work!
It looks beautiful!! I live in a modular home and have those cabinets lol! I've been trying to figure out the best way to update them. I have wooden doors but the cabinets are some weird pressed board 🫤. Thank you for sharing!!
How exciting! It all looks beautiful. We bought our house a couple years ago and it had tons of paneling I painted white and I think I have 7 coats of highest quality paint over it. It was really annoying but all the hard work has paid off
You did a great job and I love the color choices!
I love your cabinet color. It looks great.
The kitchen is so beautiful
Looks really good
Looks fabulous. I find with my propane oven compared to my electric oven at our cabin, that I have to bake things a little bit longer.
Nice to see this. We are looking at 1978 manufactured home with 5 acres of land
I have cooked both with electric and gas over the years. I actually dislike using electric quite a bit because of the long lag time in temperature changes after making adjustments. With gas the temperature changes are immediate and easily variable. With electric, the element has to take time to either heat up or cool down. If a pot is boiling over on gas you simply turn down the heat and you're done with the issue nearly instantly . With electric, turning down the heat doesn't remove the heat source and so you need to remove the pan from the burner to stop the situation immediately. Having to physically handle a heavy pot that is actively boiling over is not the safest situation to be in. Just saying.

Salvation solution would have helped with coverage.
I love the color, it looks so bright, inviting and comfortable.
Love your kitchen! I'm in a double wide too and having the same issue and have been looking into painting mine too. My counter is awful and by the stove is warped. I'm on a very fixed budget being on SSI/disability. Sadly mines from 1986 and has the funky papered panels and half wood panel walls too in the dining room and living room w thankfully a non gaudy papered walls, bedrooms and bathrooms didn't get that lucky and for some reason there's trim halfway up the wall in bedroom too.
Kitchen looks great. Priming the wood first would help with how many coats - I don't find those all in one paints work as they should. Well done!
It looks great. The commentary on the inside of the cabinets has me chuckling😂
omg this is what paint we used to renovate our 5th wheel 😊🥰
Hi Melissa, beautiful kitchen! I found you a few years ago on YT and forgot to subscribe at that time. Recently found you again I feel like it was a sign! I recently moved to Washington from Southern California to start a homestead and I feel like I’ll have to learn to garden all over again, it’s so different! Do you have any suggestions or resources you could share?
@@chalklinecrossfit8999 I've got a lot of gardening articles on my website!
@@MelissaKNorris thank you, I’ll check them out.
I love the two colors - I'm thinking of the same idea, just using a shade of green on the bottom. Did you use Cashmere on the top??
I used Bone
Love the new kitchen and color. I'm actually in the market for a new oven. I grew up cooking with a propane stove and love it. I to have been debating on whether to go with an electric oven. And again like you it's the power outages. I'm curious will the oven work with out the panel lit up...when power is out?At the gathering stage. I'm kinda leaning towards the Bertizzoni because the're no electronics. I need to look at the Cafe... I hadn't done that yet. Is your space 36"?That's mine a and so I've had 6 burners and love it. Thank you for the video 😊. PS. Hope our gas initiative passes. Don't touch my propane 😄. Blessings
Hey Melissa,
Well I did more research and definitely not Bertizzoni. Looks like Cafe is my best option for the price. Wondering where you purchased yours since we live in the same area... Whidbey...shop Burlington/Mt Vernon area. Waiting at Conway for my feed.😊. Thank you for your time.
Blessings to you
I love love your colors and style! How many coats of paint did you need to use for the blue color?
It looks fantastic! Can you please tell me where you found that lovely bread/storage box on the counter?
@@jenniferganey881 at a garage sale
Unless you have a battery for your oven pilot light. Even the propane oven doesn’t work when the power is out. For the stove you meed to keep matches or a lighter available for when the power goes out. You can use your dutch oven on the stove top or on the wood stove as an oven
There is a tiny oven you can put on an outside propane stove to bake as well.
I live in Oregon. Ha e cooked with propane for decades and have routinely had 3-5 days without power. Winter storms, branches on power lines, accidents and wild fires.
Your kitchen looks great. Enjoy
We have a generator that will power the electric part of the stove thankfully
I love my propane stove. I will never go back to electric. I had a gas stove in our previous home.
A gas or propane still used electricity for the oven light and starter….when we were searching for propane we discovered that some propane or gas ovens but not light when there is a power outage. It has something to do with the way the burners lights. We chose the only one that was available that would still like during a power outage…..then we tested it
Hi Melissa! Where did you find the drawer pulls/door handles? I’ve been looking for something that size and color for quite awhile (I’m a bit indecisive lol).
I have a propane range, unless you have battery backup you can't use your oven in a power outage
The top burners yes, but not the oven.I had a Brown range with batteries. Worked great all the time but wanted something fancier. Big mistake.
Yes, most propane ovens use electricity to keep the igniter working to keep temperature. This uses 300 watt electricity. Find one that does not use a glow plug if you want to use “off grid”. If you are counting on being able to use your oven during a power outage, check it out now to make sure it will work for you.
I really live your new kitchen. Just a giggle for me is the White that people go for because of dark rooms always surprises me. The pendulum swings so far to the opposite when going from dark to lighter...to WHITE. It feels emotional.
I don’t think I ever realized you live in a double wide! Do you love your home?
I do!
Love my gas stove.. do not miss my electric at all
Would you share you source for the knob/handles?
It was Lowe's
So tell me how you clean the grates
And those burner covers
@@dawnowens6142 I wipe it down with a dish rag after cooking. Rarely but when needed a natural degreaser spray and scrub it.
I’ve been seeing a lot of people do the light upper and dark lower cabinets lately!
I guess it needs a good rub first
