I just recently started to just read scripture from the Bible instead of doing a Bible study and making sure to do it in the morning instead of in the evenings. Helps me stay more consistent sometimes I forgot to do it at night. All Glory to Him!! 🙏🙏❤
God is great. Took 20 years of atheism to notice who pulls the strings, and where all the evil comes from. Read the Bible, hone your relationship with God 💙
Busy morning! I liked seeing your morning quiet time. I typically do my morning bible reading and prayer after I shower and before I wake everyone up for the day. It means getting up at 4:00 but it’s worth it. It’s hard to lead the family if I haven’t first submitted and allowed the Lord to lead me.
Melissa, I would really like to see more like this!! It's super helpful in tips, support for those of us doing similar things, and just all around enjoyable and filled with info to glean from. Thanks for this video!!❤️
I love Epic Gardening, I'm converting over to their 6 and 4 cells myself. No more flimsy seed starting trays for me. Coffee cans (the ones with handles) make great scoops.
So glad I found you. When life is a circus, common sense is a balm. I'm 67 so only have berries and tomatoes. Loved your bread recipe and passed it on. Thank you for being you.
Love it! My bible reading is done at 4 am before I get ready for work....best part of my day! I enjoy your videos. We have been enjoying the apple pie filling (gave out for Christmas gifts to family members) and can't wait to try with peaches this year. Got many compliments on the pie filling!
My husband and I are just getting into the homestead lifestyle while working part-time. It's great to see you unscripted doing your thing. Gives me hope that we can make it work, too. Thank you!
Loved watching you do the morning homestead chores. What you have been doing, teaching people about homesteading, gardening, etc. is so very valuable. So pretty to see your place up against the Cascades. I never tire of that view. I think we live in the most beautiful part of the country. I need to find a better place for our seedling starts since we now have a very active young cat and your set up looks ideal. Even though I am late agains starting tomatoes and peppers, I got a great harvest in late Sept/early Oct. last year so I am going out to do that today. I have my cabbage in and need to plant my broccoli plants and my pea and lettuce seeds. It is finally getting warm enough to do so and we will be teased by the warm weather in the next few days. Thank you so much for all your vlogs and information. It is wonderful what you are doing, Manyblessings to you.
Great video. Was listening while doing my own chores. I make a list of tasks I need and like to get done and whatever doesnt get done rolls over to the next day. Being busy is great but as I age I find more rest times are needed. It's amazing how much you get done just keep enjoying it that is the key.
Enjoyed your video and I always learn something new in the process. I appreciate your heart to teach others! I loved the way the baby cow ran to greet you for his milk. We bought your Homesteading video series, and I watched two of the episodes last evening. We'll done and informative!
I loved this video, thank you so much for sharing. It was great to see you unscripted, and you just being you. My morning latte is one of my favorite parts of the day too! Rebel is so darn cute.

Totally agree with the need for scoops of all sizes (metal is so sturdy) and funnels! I would add rubber scrapers to get all the bits of everything and home efficiency ramps up.
Good Wednesday morning Melissa. Greetings from Maryland. I'm glad to see you're doing well - and the garden's looking absolutely lovely. Thanks so much for sharing a look at your morning routine there on the homestead. 👍👍😉😉 .
I had been subbed to your channel for a while but recently found out how close you are. (I think your vid about your new property mentioned where you’re at). I’m on concrete Sauk valley rd. So that was pretty cool. And yes Rebel is adorable. Thanks for walking us through all your morning chores and God bless you and your family and your channel too.
I was in Arlington, WA. a couple of weeks ago, for 10 days. Washington is a beautiful state. I'm in Indiana. The nights get pretty cold there, then in the morning, it warms up pretty quick.
My aunt used to have a alf nursery. I could only feed one or two calves at a time but my cousin could bottle feed 5 at a time. Going there every summer for as long as I can remember - all I wanted was to have a life where I could raise animals and live like Laura Ingalls. Didn’t really get to raise my kids that way. Got started when they were in middle school
Thanks for sharing your day! ❤ I have golden laced Wyandottes that have gone broody a couple times and right now I have a broody black copper Maran. Have had my easter eggers for a few years and none of them have gone broody. 😊. I always give my broody hens some of the Easter eggers eggs to hatch out. 😃. Wonderful blessings from God ❤
Sorry, wrong button. Anyway, she was going broody on me, but I was new to chickens and didn't understand what was going on. I decided to take a piece of spinach to her each day. I'd feed her the spinach, then take the eggs under her. A few days later, she stopped trying to sit on the eggs all day. I'm curious if it was a fluke or might work on all chickens. If you are willing to try it, I'd love your feedback. I'm still new at taking care of chickens. Thank you for all you share. I hope to come to one of the homesteading events in the future.
Hi Melissa... thank you for taking us with you on your morning. I really enjoyed it and yes I would love it if you would include us in more of your day. My Husband and I are starting our second year of homesteading so seeing what your days look like offers me a look into what my life will be like when I retire at the end of June and I can't wait. A question though: When you were looking at your starts you showed an electrical box that showed a temperature and you also had a temp probe in the earth and you were able to get the earth temp. Could you please share what that is. It would be so valuable in the greenhouse as I live in VERY northern Ontario Canada and here we still have snow 😏. Knowing the earth temp would be of great benefit. Thanks again!!
Hi Melissa! Thank you for sharing your morning chores. I LOVE your videos and would love more like this. I can’t wait until it’s time to plant the starts and getting your gardening started and then when it’s time to start canning. Do you still grow the San Marzano tomatoes or have you totally switched over to the Amish tomatoes? Take care!
You forgot the most important Mrs.'s K! 3:30 - Wake up, drive to airport 4:00 - Fly to NYC 6:00 - Visit "Make-me-fabulous" Salon & dim-sum parlor 7:00 - Fly back to Podunk, WA for morning chores
Hi from Kansas! Wondering, do you have to clip your chicken’s wings to keep them from flying over your fence? We can’t seem to keep ours in. Thanks for any help.
Premeire 1 is the best period. I did have a coyote jump over and kill a turkey (it got zapped in the process)now I have a pyr. and nothing comes around. Do you leave your layers in the tractors all winter?? If so how do they do in the cold ? Thanks
I have 3 Pyrenees. I don't have to worry about coyote. You should get one.... or 3. You do your devotions same as me. I just drink my coffee and read. If something strikes me particularly, I will cross reference and look into Strong's translations to get a better understanding. I think I have read the entire word 15 or more times in the past 5-6 years. I so agree that it is better to let God interpret it for you, rather than other peoples interpretations and theological bias.
My Buff Orpington is not broody at all! 😂 My California White, however, will starve herself to death if I don't keep an eye on her. No roosters here, so no chicks.

I can't get over how lovely your hair is looking while doing farm chores! Love your channel!
lol I know right. Beats my hat hair.
I keep thinking, “man, how can she work with her hair down?!” Mine barely passes my shoulders, I easily overheat and up it goes!
Melissa, I would really like to see more like this!! It's super helpful in tips, support for those of us doing similar things, and just all around enjoyable and filled with info to glean from. Thanks for this video!!❤️
Appreciate this! Would love to see afternoon chores.
So beautiful to see you reading your Bible and giving God specific time in your life. God bless you in all you do. 🙏🤗
I love Epic Gardening, I'm converting over to their 6 and 4 cells myself. No more flimsy seed starting trays for me. Coffee cans (the ones with handles) make great scoops.
Yes I want to see afternoon chores. I enjoy the daily life activities.
When your popcorn gets too old to pop add a couple of tablespoons of water to pan along with your oil and butter. It freshens the kernals.
You a one busy lady, I remember being young enough to do all that. TFS 👍
So glad I found you. When life is a circus, common sense is a balm. I'm 67 so only have berries and tomatoes. Loved your bread recipe and passed it on. Thank you for being you.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing your morning! That is the life I'm trying to build, can't wait to get back to that lifestyle!

I love that you even mention reading the Bible on you tube..I would agree with you about just reading the Word of God, so important!!
I love watching you go through your chores! :)
I am a visual person so while I understand the podcast or talk videos this style is my preferred format. Thanks

Do you have cougars in your area? I’m wondering how the electric poultry netting works for them?
We do and neighbors had cow and horse attacks from them but never the chickens so far
I agree, I go right to the written word of God.
Melissa said DIRT!!!! DIRT??? It's soil Melissa. It's soil. 😂
❤😊
You have beautiful skin
How do you guys go on vacation? Do you get to go on vacation? That’s the problem I’m having
We typically go in summer when the cattle are on pasture so the farm sitter doesn't have to feed them and double upon chicken water and feed.
what was that you used to start the fire?
It's a propane torch
My Buff Orpington is not broody at all! 😂 My California White, however, will starve herself to death if I don't keep an eye on her. No roosters here, so no chicks.
