Basic Name Sign Design in Illustrator for the Glowforge

This video is a one-take of how to design three different styles of signs in Illustrator for laser cutting. I know it goes pretty quick but I only had a short time to cram in as much as I could, so hopefully, you'll get one or two gems in this. I apologize for the screaming cats in the background - they honestly seem to wait until their yelling is most inconvenient to start. Some of the techniques quickly covered in this video include:
- Offsetting a Path
- Converting to Outlines & Uniting Shapes
- The Glyph Panel
- The Pathfinder Panel
- Exporting for Screens

Wow! I've been using Illustrator for YEEEEEAAAAARRRRSSS, and never paid one bit of attention to the glyphs panel. Anytime I needed to swap out a character, I would open Windows' Character Map, find the font I was looking for, then search through the characters to find one that worked. I can't believe that's been right under my nose the entire time. Thank you for that tip!
