Do you have to be in 10 bit 422 to use these or will the camera output these profiles in 8 bit colour as well? i.e. PP11 in 420?
No you don’t have to film in 10 bit for these. The picture profile doesn’t effect quality of the footage it only effects the color, brightness, contrast, etc… metadata
Which picture profile gives the cinema/movie look without color grading and/or would it be better to not use a picture profile to achieve that look?

lovely video. I want to buy an A7C with Viltrox 20mm F2.8 (or similar) for my family and ho0liday videos. WIll I have an option to shoot video in auto and have more or less decent 4k videos? Without going too much into iso, aperture, exposure, etc... The only thing I will have to do is to stabilize the video later in Catalyst Browse. Or am I asking for too much? Can't make my mind what camera and lens to buy for beautifull videos. Noone in our family is happy with Iphone 15 videos in low light. So need some serios gear without breaking the bank.
Yes a7c with viltrox 20mm will be an excellent combo. And you'll get excellent video by just focusing on framing your shot. If you want slo mo in 4k you can also look at a7cii or a6700 which is not full frame but excellent still

I actually used a software to clean up the sound a bit. Was using a $30 shotgun mic connected to an iphone lol

pp1 isnt something that you would color correct right? its done already in the camera?
you can do whatever you want with the picture profiles. you shoot how YOU want. pic the PP that looks good for you. he's just sayin that shooting flat will give you the best range in post.
Yeah I mean technically you can do whatever you want. If you think it needs to be more saturated or brighter or something, feel free to make those changes in post. There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to color correction

i have a noise on sony a7IV when i shoot with slog-3
What settings are you shooting at? Generally in that Picture Profile it is best to keep your ISO low.
@@Zacharytm I usually set the ISO to 800, but in low light I have to increase it and then noise appears
noise usually starts creeping in if not correctly exposed, it looks the best at an exposure around +2 if its to dark you need to use the right iso values, i dont have them in my head right now, but some values are less noisy than others, 800 for example is my go to iso , no matter if its very bright outside, i always have it set to 800 when filming in slog 3

Been shooting for clients for over 40 years, Have never had a recent client say -- Hey did you shoot this in slog 2 or 3. I noticed the color temp was off by 30 degrees kelvin. I notice it doesn't have that cinematic feel so I'm not going to pay you.
When shooting film you had to color correct with digital NO.
Just shoot and light it correctly, edit it and you are done. Take the money to the bank.
What are you people selling each other??? 99% of commercial jobs should not require any color correction. How are you making money? You all are feeding each other this bullshit and content is non existent. Concentrate on the content. Most of the content today is pure crap.
I guess I understand what you’re saying. But in my experience, I always felt that I should give the customer the best quality content I possibly can which I truly believe “LOG Footage” allows you to do. And you’re allowed to have an opinion, but what I don’t understand is why you’re so angry about it.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to learn more about your camera and the settings it offers.
