Glen Rock was the best. We used to walk our wagon full of the empty bottles down to the Gold Eagle Liquors in Libertyville that sold it to re-load for the weekend. The best part was you could build your own case. So everyone got to pick out their favorite flavors. So sad they went out of business. If they made this soda today, it would have some fancy label and be marketed as "small batch, locally made". But back then it was just Glen Rock Pop.
I was born in '85 in Lake County. Research and nostalgia brought me to this video. My late father used to always have a case on hand in our garage for a rare treat (through maybe 90 or 91). He kept those Glen Rock empty cases forever. I'm surprised I couldn't remember the name, having seen it millions of times throughout my childhood. Also, when I was young, Donny of Jerry's Mobil used to let my father the garage to work on our family vehicles. I always remember a vintage vending machine loaded up with GR. Getting one was my reward to going with my dad to watch him work on cars for a day (I didn't, really). I liked the Lemon Lime, Cream Soda, and well all of them were awesome.
I'm from Waukegan. As a kid, I didn't think about it because Glen rock pop was a stable at any b-day party. Small bottles, parents let you drink like 6 of em
Omg! My sister used to live North Chicago. I could wait to spend the night at her place. The soda dispenser in the basement of her apartment was always filled with bottles of Glen Rock soda. I think they were like twenty-five cent. They were absolutely delicious!❤️😍
Shame they went out of business. I recall having it at some block party in the 1980's as a kid, and it was pretty dang good. I think they stuck around until the early 1990's, as I recalled being able to get some when I was in high school as well. But they closed up sometime after that.
A place in Seymour Wisconsin, just West of Green Bay, still makes the same soda from the same mix that Glen Rock used in the 60's. It's sold at Don's Quality Market in Seymour Wisconsin. Glen Rock Soda was not unique. Many other local bottlers used the same mixes but not many are left. Seymour Beverages is one of them. www.glassbottlesoda.org/bottlers/seymour.shtml
How the Hell did this got into my feed......but Thank You! Brings back GREAT memories!!!

I grew up in nearby Winthrop Harbor. Glen Rock soda was a staple of every kid's birthday party.
Grandma is from The Harbor also, Glen Rock was a staple.
I grew up in Waukegan & lived on North Butrick St, just a few blocks from Glen Rock. We always had the pop at our picnics & birthday parties.
Nefer Khepri I live in N Butrick st ! Kind of a bad area tbh
OTS Xxx that’s too bad. I lived there 30 years ago when it was a nice area of town.
Loved this short documentary and our family loved Glen Rock soda!
Just found three cases in our basement - most still full. Stepdad owned Glen Rock and recently passed away. Will be selling these on eBay soon
Sorry for your loss 🙏

My grandma always had a case or 2 of Glen Rock pop in the cooler in the basement.

Thank you!💞
Thanks so much for the info! I’m definitely going to pay them a visit!❤️
What about Sasparilla? I remember that flavor as well.
I live across the street to Terry Philips the current owner, we had it a few times in the 1980's
that lime is impossible to find!
where can i get the poster ?
Wish my volume went up to 200, maybe then I could hear it.
This sounds like user error. My volume is normal and I can hear it just fine.
❤
I remember.
