- After almost every right-wing media outlet and politician tried to discredit and throw cold water on the story of the 10-year-old Ohio rape victim, a man has been arrested and charged after confessing to raping the girl multiple times. The girl had to travel to Indiana to receive an abortion as Ohio’s heartbeat trigger law takes effect at 6 weeks of pregnancy. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss on The Young Turks. "A 27-year-old man has been charged in the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl who reportedly traveled from Ohio to Indiana for an abortion in a case that drew international attention - and scrutiny - in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Gershon Fuentes, who was arrested Tuesday, confessed to raping the child, according to documents filed in Franklin County, Ohio, Municipal Court.
He was charged with the rape of a minor and faces a life sentence and deportation, the documents state. Bond was set at $2 million, and an initial hearing is scheduled for next week.
An attorney who represented Fuentes at Wednesday’s hearing did not immediately reply to a request for comment Wednesday evening."

My wife almost bled to death during her last delivery. Child birth is no joke.
They don’t even want children that age being taught about the specifics of pregnancy or delivery, yet they are ok with a child that age going through those things. As a woman who has had two vaginal deliveries & as a nurse who observed 2 c sections during clinicals (not to mention the other deliveries I’ve been privileged enough to be a part of) I could not imagine asking a child to go through either type of delivery. Hell no.

Just gave birth a month ago...pregnancy was hard af, labor was for 24+hrs and vaginally delivery was the most excruciating pain I've experienced....and I'm in my 30s...I couldn't imagine having a CHILD have to go through all of this...
I was in labor for 26 hours when I was 21 years old. I actually signed papers for a cesarean and don’t even remember. I had to be induced. I lost over half my blood volume and almost died. I can’t imagine a 10-year-old child having to go through this when I was a grown woman and I had a problem. My third child, I had to have a C-section. And it was awful! We must spare children from this! Let them be children as much as possible, even after something so horrible happens to them such as rape.

I had a neighbor whose daughter got pregnant at 12. She decided to keep the baby, but she had to be delivered by a C=Section because her body was to small. Now imagine 10 years old.
Not to mention that they are more likely not to finish school, and unable to go on to college.

I had 2 C-sections as a full adult. No child should ever have to go through that, and I was fully prepared for it as an adult woman. This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. More so that these grown people are still saying she should have had the child. Grown women are saying it. I just can't believe these people exist.

They probably would do a c section if she was forced to carry to term. The youngest mom in the world was 5 years old and she had a c section when she was about 8 months pregnant. They did not find out she was pregnant until she was already 7 months along. She had a healthy baby boy. But a 5 or 10 year old child should never be forced to carry a baby to to term. That is cruel and life threatening.

There’s no way in hell a child could manage carrying, then delivering a baby. This, aside from the trauma of rape, only compounds the horror that she would be forced to undergo. Imagine the view of adults and the medical profession the child would be left with? Assaulting her again and again, exams with gynecologists using speculums.

I think because far less people die from childbirth now there is a general feeling that having a baby is painful but not as big a deal. I had a C-section last year and due to some complications was hospitalized for 4 days. The experience was far more traumatic than I expected. I cannot fathom how devastating it would be for a 10-year-old, if she even survived giving birth.

C-Sections require the abdominal muscles to be cut, which even after healing, will never be as strong nor stable as they were prior to being cut apart. This can cause many different medical problems over time, anything from hernias and abnormal growths, to appendicitis and collapse of the pelvic floor muscles. Incontinence is a very common side effect, causing women to pee themselves involuntarily. It’s also very common for women to require additional surgical procedures to fix what the C-Section broke.

My Mom had me in 1968. She was 6 months pregnant 🤰🏽with me when she and her nephew were working in the same building. They were on their way to take their lunch break, when she slipped on a small flight of steps outside of their job. The fall jarred me and my Mom went into labor right at that moment. My cousin scooped his aunt up in his arms, put her in his car and drove her to the hospital. 🏥 She was in labor for FIVE DAYS. FIVE. When she finally delivered me (breach, I should add), I only weighed 2 lbs. 11 oz. All that work and almost a whole week, just to bring in a baby 👶🏽who was UNDER 3 lbs. And she was almost 34 at the time. (She still reminds me of it every birthday! 😂😜🤪😝🤣) Now, if a woman can go through all of that at almost 35 years of age, I shudder to think what's in store for a mere 10 year old. 😭. SCOTUS thought they were screwing over liberals, but in reality, they actually just screwed themselves and the rest of the country. And the world has even MORE of an excuse to see us (a.k.a U.S.) as the bad guys, yet again. Let's just face facts... SCOTUS really screwed the pooch 🐕 on this one! BIg time! 'Murica!!! 🤬🤰🇺🇸 lol

Jesus! You deserve a medal for going through that! I remember my GYN warning me pregnancy complications really haven’t changed in over a 100 years! She was afraid when I fell in love with my wonderful fiancé, ahd was ecstatically happy I might try with my very serious health issues to have a child. She talked to me for an hour on his dangerous it was for just normal women much less someone with complex illness to deliver. But we knew that it was too risky for me. And the child. Plus, I could be very sick and I didn’t want my child to have a sick mother to worry about and didn’t want that illness to stop me from being the best mother to them. I didn’t adopt either because of chronic serious illness. So sadly, I didn’t have children as much as we all wanted them. That’s what kills me women who want children but have complicated dangerous pregnancies that they may not be able to carry, that will now die having them! Or have horrible and serious complications. And of course the rape victims that will be forced to have the babies. Or someone that has a baby born without a brain or other needed vital parts of their bodies who will be born severely damaged, only to die a sad suffering death later.
I can tell you what I went through at 15 years old being pregnant... I didn't have a choice.. My mother was the kind of person I made the mistake I had to live with it kind of person, and besides it was her first grandchild... Am I happy now Yes now I am, was I then no I wasn't, here's the thing my body at 15 was almost not capable of giving birth I was 16 when she was born but the point is even at that age I almost wasn't capable so I could only imagine a 10-year-old I was still playing with dollies

The saddest thing about pro life people, is that they/(formerly we)never see all the angles of why abortion should be legal, because we are taught under religious doctrine that promiscuity is the only reason that women want abortions. This story has definitely changed my mind. I hope others wake up. I still don’t believe religion is wrong. However others in positions of power and religious power definitely Weaponized it to forward their own agenda.
Ikr?! I was the same way. Raised as a Jehovahs Witness. Personally, am pro life. But it's up to folks personal beliefs. Then, I left the church so I could vote. Worst part is, I was a CNA for 20 yrs, knowing about female biology. And I never once gave a thot about abortion being Healthcare. I have completly changed my mind & am ashamed as a survivor of child rape myself, that any of this was an issue. Never gave any of it a thot. No more. Am now pro choice, for myself & everyone else! Women will die. 🥺
Remember how the law says exception for medical emergencies? The right loves to say it would provide cover for a child and that they would allow the abortion. But the law doesn’t actually say it will protect the kids. No, it specifies “emergency.” As in they can’t abort it until it’s time to deliver the baby and no doctor is going to abort a baby as it is being born. The law is functioning as intended. Every republican should feel extreme amounts of shame if they support republican candidates after this.
I can’t believe that ANY WOMEN republicans or democrats would ever consider getting rid over Roe vs Wade .

Sick thinking they both could die & many complications for a 10 yr old even a little older there's issues. She will never be the same. I have been mutilated after two bad pregnancies at 30. One almost killed me the other in 4th month &, it came out in pieces. I was built too small to carry imagine how small a child is. It traumatized me forever & could never have children after.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

@@thathobbitlife thank you for the correction, I should have phrased it better, I was, in my clumsy way, referring to the Fox guest Megan Fox, who made sure to mention the Doctors name quite prominently in her Interview. Let’s see how many threats she gets, I'm betting a lot.
So what will happen to female tourists (child, teen, adult) who are raped and become pregnant as a result of that rape? Will they be forced to stay and give birth? What will happen to the rape baby after birth? Will that baby be forced to live in America or taken home to the victim's country? What if the victim's under-age and the parents can't afford to remain in America? Will the State force their raped child to remain in the State in State care? Or, what if the victim's parents must return home to look after other children? What if the victim's parents must return to employment which will otherwise be terminated should the parents not return to work? How will the financial implications of the victim's parents losing their jobs be dealt with? I have hundreds of other questions but not enough time and space to keep going here.

In Europe one pregnant woman on visit in another country had to go to the hospital because something happened to the fetus, and the doctors said an abortion was her only hope. The problem was that abortion was illegal in that country, so the woman died.
