If you're "aborting" a living baby that is currently being born.... What do you just pull the baby out and then kill the baby?? Like what in the actual fuck are they even talking about??!
Haven't you heard Republicans make the false claim about abortion until the moment after birth? Trump does a whole sick shtick about it. I cannot believe people actually buy such bs.
My sister in law had to carry her stillborn for 6 months in the 1960s. This was so hard on her emotionally, let's not go back. Women need to have better, no matter the country.
I don't know how these doctors can get through these ridiculous hearings wothout losing their shit. They probably sit there thinking about all the useful things they could be doing with their valuable time.
When a baby and mother is healthy and the mother is in the process of giving birth but no longer wants the child that’s where foster and adoption comes into play. Never has abortion been used in that situation Mr Republican questioner.
"What if it was halfway out of the birth canal?" That's called *BIRTH* the thing that means a baby is being born. It's a process where the mother has no spare time to think about anything other than birth.
I do wish these people/doctors testifying would prepare for these inane questions though, using reasoned science and logic instead of staring and stammering. It’s easy to get a quick rundown of the specious arguments the right has been trying to promulgate for decades now.
The baby has to take a breath . There is a procedure where they stick in a rod to the baby’s brain to kill it and then use forceps to get every body part out . Then they have to count the parts on the tray to make sure they got every one .
I lost a baby at 5.5 months. I had to have a surgical DNC, that isn't aborting a child. Fuck anyone who says that I didn't have the right to have the baby removed. I went through months of sadness after losing my child. Do they want women to carry dead babies to full term? Risk the mothers life? I don't understand.
What part of "That doesn't happen" did he NOT understand? It just doesn't happen not even theoretically. That's why she won't entertain such an absurdity.
My 20-something cousin just had to have a D&C because she'd, sadly, had an ectopic pregnancy and her life was at serious risk. THANK GOD we live in NYS!!!! She went through the D&C and it crushed her spirit. A little bit of backstory on my cousin. She was a teenage Mom and while in utero it became obvious that her babys health was at serious risk, the fetus had a major heart defect and for weeks into months the neonatel specialists were reying to come up with a game plan as to how to proceed or to end the pregnancy because they really did NOT believe that baby would survive the stress of childbirth. She ended up going to term but her baby boy was still in serious condition and since his birth he has had a dozen open heart surgeries including one shortly after his birth. So her losing this most recent pregnancy has been devastating and would have beem so much worse had we lived in a state that didnt allow "abortions" which is nothing more than a NECESSARY medical procedure, because my cousin would have died a horrible and AVOIDABLE death AND left her young son to go through the rest of his life without his BIGGEST SUPPORTER, PROTECTOR, teacher and MOM.
I feel you're confusing a *dumb* question (which might be excusable to a certain degree) with a *bad faith* question which is simply used as a tool to keep the simple minded followers of right wing BS enraged.
I had a miscarriage and started hemorrhaging and had to go to the hospital. If that happened now would they let me bleed to death. I wanted to have this baby I had no choice. Nobody should have the right to tell my doctor what they should do to help their patients. These men should have to have women tell them they have to have a vasectomy. See how they like that or take their viagra away!
If I were the Physician who was being questioned, I would have told this idiot, "Do you hear or even understand how ridiculous your question is? If you think this actually happens, please share and cite factual data in which what you are asking happens?"
Ava Barker: A 10year old in Ohio would beg to differ, as would I. I could give them an earful about my extremely brutal and traumatic experience, the stupid know-nothings!
I found out what 'prolife' was really all about when my daughter decided to not have kids. They were furious that she was 'getting away with something.' Showed how much they really value children.
Ugh. Sorry your daughter had to be judged like that. Hopefully she didn't let those people get to her. I worked at 2 different PP's and I saw how much these people use religion as the excuse for their awful behavior. It has even made some women suicidal by making them feel bad about themselves. These people are sick.
It's pretty disturbing how anti-choicers characterize sex as something a woman should have no control over whatsoever, including whether or not she gets pregnant. That's misogyny for you.
That was Mike Johnson, my unfortunate representative, he never responded when I asked what he would do if his wife or daughter was raped and impregnated. He does not think for himself, he ONLY follows other Alt-right representatives. Like all laws in Louisiana, they always play catch-up to other states.
Maybe licensed physicians should be allowed to do there job takening care of patients. Congressmen would be better to , I don't know? Investigate corruption in there own political party. Seems to be enough corruption to keep them busy until voted out of office.
This man is so clueless it’s incredible. I wish these people would care so much about the babies once they are born than while they are still in a womb. How about gun control for the safety of our children , so they can go to school without being afraid to get shot
What’s next! This is insanity. So if a mothers life ends after the baby is born yall gonna arrest the baby for murder? Or the doctor for not saving both lives? Sounds stupid right!
So…does that congresscritter think that a “partial-birth abortion” means an abortion performed in the middle of a normal, at-term birth‽‽ For anybody who genuinely doesn’t know: the “partial birth” in “partial-birth abortion” doesn’t refer to an at-term natural delivery. It refers to the fact that the fetus is removed from the uterus intact. That’s it. The fetus could be already dead before the procedure begins, or even before it’s contemplated. It is probably too young to be birthed or to survive outside the womb. But most often this procedure is because either the fetus or the mother or both are in severe, even life-threatening, danger. Or because the fetus is already dead, which is itself a life-threatening situation for the mother. Or because the fetus is non-viable and this was only discovered late in the pregnancy. Or because the fetus is non-viable and asinine laws passed by ignorant assholes like this guy delayed the abortion, turning what would’ve been a less-invasive, less-gruesome procedure when the mother first wanted it, into this. If the fetus is developed enough to survive outside the womb, and healthy, they’re going to do an emergency C-section or emergency induced birth, not an abortion. Also, aborting a fetus mid-delivery isn’t a thing! If for some reason a mother were to decide mid-labor that they don’t want a healthy baby, the doctors are just going to finish delivering the baby, and then figure out how to put it up for adoption or something. They’re not going to abort it or perform infanticide.
An abortion terminates a pregnancy. Giving birth also terminates a pregnancy. Nobody terminates a pregnancy (abortion) while they're terminating a pregnancy (giving birth) or after the pregnancy is already terminated (the baby is born). So-called "late abortions", which occur after the fetus is viable but not during or after birth, are ONLY done if something has gone horribly wrong and an intervention is necessary to protect the mother's life. Even then, if the unborn can be safely incubated outside the womb (ie. if viable), the doctor will do that while still terminating the pregnancy. Yes, it's possible to have an abortion without "killing a baby." These "late abortions" are what the maligned Virginia abortion law became controversial over and now they're a GOP talking point. Republicans are very good at running their mouths about things they don't understand, exploiting the public's natural inclination to believe what they're told from authority figures.
It's not only that these males don't understand but that they don't want nor care to understand. They don't sympathise nor do they empathise because they lack any motivation nor intention to care.
That black medial doctor clapped back on the dude real quick with the “I can’t imagine just like you probably can’t imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped.” Loved that quickness of her because that’s how I respond to idiotic people arguments as well on a subject that they aren’t experts in.
I would have preferred she say somehing like, "I know of no instances, except when the mother, baby or both would die, or suffer, then die not long after, without an abortion, are you, sir, advocating withholding treatment from women who have babies that will die anyway, if born, within a month or less of birth, most likely, at best hours. But whose birth will kill the mother, is that your position? ? And if it is, why is it you hate women so very much?"
I have 3 children. The second time my wife and I conceived, the baby died at 16 weeks gestation. That was traumatic for us both, because my wife had to go in for a d&c, and all I could do was hold her hand and cry with her. I can't imagine that anyone who is pregnant takes ending that life lightly, but I do know that that should ultimately be the decision of the person carrying the baby.
@@macpro75 it happens all the time. Which is why a ban on abortions makes no sense. Having a baby should be a joyful event, not something you're forced into. I'm a conservative Christian, but pro-life isn't a Christian thing, it's about whether a woman is subjugated to the potential life growing inside her. I'm surprised there isn't a massive outcry from libertarians.
It is disingenuous of them to be even asking about late-term or partial-birth abortions when in reality they keep pushing abortion bans that are earlier and earlier.
"Do you believe, then, that men can be pregnant and have abortions?" My instant quip back to him would have been, "Well if men 'could' become pregnant, and have abortions, I can guarantee you there would be an abortion clinic on every corner."
Well, trans men can become pregnant and may need an abortion. Trans women can't, but many cis women also can't. But that doesn't matter as pregnancies and abortions are discussed and not the definitions of men or women. Does it really matter what gender identity the pregnant person has?
@@ChromeSalvationBMX An adult human female. Add something to clarify. A trans woman for example would usually be biologically male but transitioned to female. A cis woman would be born female and identify as female. There's also post menopausal women which aren't able to naturally get pregnant anymore, just like other women who can't get pregnant for various reasons. It is completely irrelevant to the abortion discussion, though. You could talk about a pregnant person and have the same discussion. We tend to say women as the cases of trans men being pregnant a rare but I'm sure they can still identify as they're biologically female and this relates to a female body with the ability to get pregnant.
@@ChromeSalvationBMX I saw no contradictions in the other post. Only caveats as human biology can be rather complex. But a woman is indeed an adult human presumably with female outer anatomy (though there are folks born with ambiguous genitalia, just fyi) The ability to get pregnant naturally does indeed vary, since there could be complications with the internal sex organs. That’s just a biological fact. So using the ability to get pregnant as a barometer to determine who is a woman is rather flawed, to put it mildly. And indeed doing so renders anyone who experiences the completely natural process of menopause as “not a woman.” See? Flawed. One also has to take into account the various intersex conditions. Like for instance Swyer Syndrome. A person born with XY chromosomes, external female genitalia and (usually) external functioning gonads that are removed at birth to allow for unhindered puberty. With hormonal treatment such women can give birth naturally, fun fact. Are such folks men because they have a Y chromosome? Then there’s conditions like XX male syndrome. Sometimes called “true hermaphrodites.” Someone born with XX chromosomes but externally male. What would classify them as? Since you seem rather focused on gender identity and all. Chromosomes are also not a good barometer as that too varies considerably and doesn’t always determine the external genitalia one can be born with, as I’ve just pointed out. Since this topic is abortion specifically, I really don’t see the importance of identity in such a discussion. Whether or not someone identifies as male, female, neither or both, is largely irrelevant. If they can get pregnant through whatever means and abortion is desired (early trimester) or medically necessary (late term) that’s all that really matters to the discussion. Bear in mind that unlike some folks, I actually know what the birthing process is. Apparently governors in America need a brush up on basic sex ed, going by this video Did you manage to follow all that or would you prefer me to “dumb down” the language further? I don’t mean that as an insult, I’m just trying to ensure I was being clear enough in my response. I tend to be “flowery” in my writing.
Its insane that she couldnt answer the question. She did not hold her own.. If you failed to recognize just how crazy it is that a health professional cannot say with certainty that abortion up to delivery is not ok then I am sure that you get scammed on the regular... BTW, the question stems from the fact that there are states with legislation allowing abortion up to 9 months and even schumer's recent bill proposal included this... So in other words, It DOES happen and far more often than people would like to admit.

There was a really old joke: _If men could become pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament._ I can't remember the comedian (George Carlin maybe?) but the joke and its point always stayed with me.
I want to hear his response to what she said, "Just like you probably can't imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped." The question is all about power and control!
It was a crass and stupid response. Really weird. She was a Dr, talking about unrestricted access to abortion (a medical procedure), which, if unrestricted (as I believe it should be), would include late term abortions. Mentioning his daughter theoretically getting raped was weird and conduct unbecoming of a Dr.
@@SamS-uv2ql The guy specifically said, a "healthy" baby. Her statement was meant to illustrate the absurdity of women aborting a healthy fetus after viability. But like I said, women do get raped, but they don't terminate 3rd trimester for birth control. I too reject any restrictions. If a woman wants it removed, she should be able to have it removed; period. We can't know her state of mind and we have to trust that she does. I don't think removing a viable baby (for adoption) instead of abortion is an undue burden on the woman. The result is the same for her. Ultimately, my position is this, life and death decisions are made every day. This one is hers, she has to live with it. No one has the right to make that decision for her. The responsibility of society is to reduce unplanned pregnancies by providing comprehensive sex education and making contraception available to all. And to reduce unwanted pregnancies by providing support to families via single payer health care, child care assistance, state paid education, etc. We can make having the baby a less burdensome option. The Doctors statement was a little crass, and it failed to slow down the right's absurd line of questioning.
@@charlidog2 Yes he did say healthy baby and she didn't answer. She should have done, it is a valid question you should answer when advocating for unrestricted access to abortion. You and I would have been able to answer without weaponising rape. A deplorable act by that Dr.

@@LamaKING21 If it’s in the birth canal, then birth is occurring. No doctor is going to intentionally harm the viable fetus at that stage. That’s beyond absurd. Restricting campaign donations might help. You either have to be rich or fanatically dedicated to get through to a US senator or congressperson. I’m Canadian. Campaign donations are capped at $5000.00 (might be going to $10,000) per person, organization or company per year. And if you’re on the board of a company, or own a company, you can’t have both your company and you donate. Official parties are given campaign funds from the federal government. And every penny donated and spent has to be accounted for, and they’re public, and there’s a lot of stuff you can’t spend it on. You can’t spend your own money, you can’t use your office resources (seriously, one guy lost his seat because he used his official office to photocopy campaign flyers). What this means is that an individual can actually meet with their MP- (Member of Parliament) or MPP- (member of provincial parliament). And only a very, very few become influential or even famous. Big corporations and lobby groups and super PACs don’t get to run the agenda. They have influence, yes, but NOTHING like in the US. Don’t get me wrong- politicians here don’t all put the needs of their constituents first, but they usually ‘get’ that their job is to work towards good governance, not to gain power and get rich.

A better way would be to call the question stupid. Apparently, there are such things a stupid questions. It would seem to me that if the child is already in the birth canal, it would be impossible to abort.
Personally, 1) I'm a male from Central Texas who is pro-choice, but I feel that it's ultimately a women's right/decision to take birth control & that Roe V. Wade should remain in effect as it currently is. 2) When it comes to the 1st & 2nd trimester, I don't agree with the argument that the baby is truly alive even with a heartbeat since it also lacks a brain, its lungs, & an immune system, which are needed to keep it alive (& something like this happened to a family member whom I won't mention by name). 3) I was born & raised Christian (specifically Baptist), & in The Bible there is a story in the Book of Numbers where a man believes his wife committed adultery, so he asked God for help & he was told by God to give his wife an elixir that would've aborted the child if it wasn't his, so this story proves that The Bible isn't against abortions. 4) I believe that once a baby is born it should have affordable medical care/coverage for its entire life since I'm pro-life in that regard & not just pro-birth of the baby. 5) I don't believe male politicians should be able to create laws regulating what women can or can't do with their own bodies when that sets a precedent for female politicians to create laws regulating what men can do to theirs.
Great, add comprehensive sex-ed and universal healthcare that provides birth control in there and we can really get the number of abortions down. Of course the Forced Birth people are against those things.
I think only women , on a statewide ballot can vote on abortion as it only affects women's bodies and rights. Otherwise we should give vasectomies to sexually mature males that can only get it reversed with a notarized signature from their wife. Redone after procreation. We have half the population we can do this .
There is a device that can simulate the pain of pregnancy and there is one for the pain of a period. Let bring these into the arguments. Maybe the men in power should feel the pain and walk in another's shoes.
This is the most ridiculous line of questing I have ever heard. These man have no knowledge of pregnancy, what takes place during pregnancies or even the birth process. Could even one draw a simple drawing of the female anatomy. They could probably not even draw where the zygote is placed. That can be proven when they have no comprehension of where the zygote is when tubal pregnancies take place or why they are treated as emergencies. If a child is half born then mother will continue to contract to push the fetus out. I would love to have a doctor be able to follow up by asking these men follow up questions. Even asking them if it is a breech delivery. So aggravating to even listen to such stupidity.
Well according to to the “Handmaidens Tale” republicans, then it would be “God’s will” that you died. But you can bet some of those very republicans who vote against women’s reproductive health care rights have paid for their mistress or their own teenage daughters to have abortions
At least 1 in 5, maybe 1 in 4 pregnancies end in natural miscarriage. That would make the God these people believe in the chief practitioner of abortion. Good luck to our sisters in the USA in getting sensible laws instated.
No Kevin 72% of conceptions are aborted spontaneously in the USA Only 28% survive gestation & the birth canal, like you & I did 11,000+ fetuses are aborted in the first 24hrs AFTER BIRTH every year 10,000+ fetuses are aborted over the remaining 364 days
If the Christian God existed then he would be the hands-down, undefeatable champion of aborting babies. How many pregnant women drowned in the supposed Great Flood? All of them. That's before we get to Numbers 5, where he authorizes abortion on demand, as long as the demand is coming from a man who correctly thinks his wife cheated on him.
I want the evidence of these last 10 sec abortions. Dude should be sue-able for that kind of stupidity. That said, the doctor should have called him out to provide the evidence and when he failed to provide, call him a liar and a failure of a representative.
It's hard to believe that any of these conservatives went to college, these questions being asked sound like some kid from high school after he smoked pot.
Don't make the mistake of believing these conservatives ask these questions in good faith. They don't. And what about ectopic pregnancies? Why do they feel it’s just fine for woman to just die a slow, painful death because the organism she is/was carrying has died. No abortion for that either. “An ectopic pregnancy can be fatal for the pregnant person without prompt intervention. The fallopian tube, for example, may burst, leading to shock and serious blood loss. Swift treatment is crucial. It cannot, however, preserve the embryo.”

I don't think people realize how much bonding goes on during the later half of pregnancy if you decide to carry a pregnancy to term. They act like these docs don't care about the mothers or their babies.
The ones that carry out abortion that late in pregnancy do not. And truly, if it is unrealistic that the majority of abortions are not carried out in the second or 3rd trimester then why was this person unable to answer the question? What is the harm in making said circumstances illegal if we can all agree that its morally reprehensible? At this moment we have states with legislation on the books which allow abortions up to delivery. It was even part of Schumer's bill that was proposed like 2 weeks ago which wouldve once again federalized the issue instead of allowing voters to decide for themselves.

As for your question, yes it does happen and there are people who are advocating for this on the basis of it being just another protection to the woman's "right to choose." However I will pose a thought for you. Right now there are states that have legislation on the books protecting abortion up to 9 months. Im not sure how familiar you are with fetal development or viability (referring to premature babies) but I ask you to look up a fetal development chart online. A simple picture will do. Then ask yourself what the difference between killing a baby a week before delivery is in comparison to killing that same baby after it is delivered. At least entertain me on a philosophic or moral basis what changes in those 7 days (just an example) that makes it ok? And yes, abortions do happen that late and there are real statistics on this. EDIT: Hell, even if you dont look up fetal developement I can tell you that viability is any time after 22 weeks or 5.5 months. Now that means the baby can live outside the womb and I can also tell you I have seen babies in the NICU that young. NOW. What is the difference between that baby and a baby at say 30 weeks gestation, 40? What about post delivery? When there are laws protecting abortion up to delivery which can range anywhere from 37-42 weeks.... Literally we are talking about a 15-20 week (or 3.75-5 month) gap in which that baby is viable. Are premature babies any less worthy of value/protection than a fully delivered infant?
@@LamaKING21 that is 100% not true. No one is aborting 3rd trimester babies just because. No eoman carries a pregnancy for 37-40 weeks and just decides on a whim to terminate. ALL late term abortions are either because the fetus is not compatible with life or the mother's life is at risk. Period. That's it. So his questions were poiness and not worth answering because it does not happen.
Had I been the doctor, my answer to his outrageous, ignorant questions would be, "Excuse me, Congressman, ARE YOU EFFING THAT STUPID?"

And this is why the decision should be left to a woman and her doctor
Why don't people when asked these questions tell them that they have lost their minds
They care about the baby till you have it, then it's every baby for him or her self with no help from anyone !

That's called *BIRTH* the thing that means a baby is being born. It's a process where the mother has no spare time to think about anything other than birth.
That question is so lame we know they are just trying to infuriate and bait people.
Neither do THEY!! and therein lies the problem....
What part of "That doesn't happen" did he NOT understand?
It just doesn't happen not even theoretically. That's why she won't entertain such an absurdity.

Not a single woman on that panel. Shocker!

Ugh. Sorry your daughter had to be judged like that. Hopefully she didn't let those people get to her. I worked at 2 different PP's and I saw how much these people use religion as the excuse for their awful behavior. It has even made some women suicidal by making them feel bad about themselves. What’s next! This is insanity. So if a mothers life ends after the baby is born yall gonna arrest the baby for murder? Or the doctor for not saving both lives? Sounds stupid right!
So…does that congresscritter think that a “partial-birth abortion” means an abortion performed in the middle of a normal, at-term birth‽‽
For anybody who genuinely doesn’t know: the “partial birth” in “partial-birth abortion” doesn’t refer to an at-term natural delivery.
"Congresscritter" -- love it.
They’re literally making up horror movie scenarios that never happen.
😅😂😂Congresscritter. Love the new word.
I've replaced Congressperson in my Funk & Wagnall with Congresscreature/critter. ❤❤❤
Yes, it's possible to have an abortion without "killing a baby."
These "late abortions" are what the maligned Virginia abortion law became controversial over and now they're a GOP talking point. Republicans are very good at running their mouths about things they don't understand, exploiting the public's natural inclination to believe what they're told from authority figures.
I’ve been trying to explain that here and there throughout the comments, but you do a much better job at it. Very succinctly put!
Oh, right away his questions worry me because if the baby comes out stillborn they will charge the mother with murder.
It's not only that these males don't understand but that they don't want nor care to understand. They don't sympathise nor do they empathise because they lack any motivation nor intention to care.
This guy has no idea what hes talking about, but I'm glad the doctor does.
I am so sorry. I've heard multiple stories like yours, unfortunately.
"Do you believe, then, that men can be pregnant and have abortions?"
My instant quip back to him would have been, "Well if men 'could' become pregnant, and have abortions, I can guarantee you there would be an abortion clinic on every corner."
😂
But a woman is indeed an adult human presumably with female outer anatomy (though there are folks born with ambiguous genitalia, just fyi)
The ability to get pregnant naturally does indeed vary, since there could be complications with the internal sex organs.
Sometimes called “true hermaphrodites.”
Someone born with XX chromosomes but externally male.
Apparently governors in America need a brush up on basic sex ed, going by this video
Did you manage to follow all that or would you prefer me to “dumb down” the language further? I don’t mean that as an insult, I’m just trying to ensure I was being clear enough in my response. I tend to be “flowery” in my writing.

A better way would be to call the question stupid. Apparently, there are such things a stupid questions. It would seem to me that if the child is already in the birth canal, it would be impossible to abort.
So all these dudes are gonna get vasectomies right?
Personally,
1) I'm a male from Central Texas who is pro-choice, but I feel that it's ultimately a women's right/decision to take birth control & that Roe V.
They don't even have to understand basic biology classes to make these kinds of decisions. It is disgusting.
Trust and believe that these people don’t care about babies or children. These are pure sociopaths. They hate you.
Men should not be in control of women's health
Maybe someone should ask them what a woman is?
I think only women , on a statewide ballot can vote on abortion as it only affects women's bodies and rights. Otherwise we should give vasectomies to sexually mature males that can only get it reversed with a notarized signature from their wife. Redone after procreation. We have half the population we can do this .
Abortion while IN THE BIRTH CANAL???? How stupid!!
Exactly! Get it Anna!
There is a device that can simulate the pain of pregnancy and there is one for the pain of a period. Let bring these into the arguments. Maybe the men in power should feel the pain and walk in another's shoes.
I wish there were more women like you with a platform that could speak out on this issue and others!
@Your Grace 💀💀💀
Guess it was taken down, he said something about women allready talking too much lol
I had an ectopic pregnancy. I would have died if I didn't have surgery, In this person's thought, it would have been more important for me to die.
Well according to to the “Handmaidens Tale” republicans, then it would be “God’s will” that you died. But you can bet some of those very republicans who vote against women’s reproductive health care rights have paid for their mistress or their own teenage daughters to have abortions
Me too!
At least 1 in 5, maybe 1 in 4 pregnancies end in natural miscarriage. That would make the God these people believe in the chief practitioner of abortion. Good luck to our sisters in the USA in getting sensible laws instated.
No Kevin
72% of conceptions are aborted spontaneously in the USA
Only 28% survive gestation & the birth canal, like you & I did
11,000+ fetuses are aborted in the first 24hrs AFTER BIRTH every year
10,000+ fetuses are aborted over the remaining 364 days
The Bible condones abortion up until a child takes its first breath.
The frustration is overwhelming. So much suffering caused by idiots .
It's hard to believe that any of these conservatives went to college, these questions being asked sound like some kid from high school after he smoked pot.
Sounds like religion to me
Dude potheads are way more intelligent than these fools. I think you owe them an apology for the insult.
Don't make the mistake of believing these conservatives ask these questions in good faith.
They don't.
If I was in the doctor's position, I'd want to say "Representative, why don't you stop trying to set me up to provide you an opening with this ridiculous question about something that *_does not happen,_* and just make the self aggrandizing speech you're *aching* to get to?"
What is worse is that some of these Republican lawmakers graduated from prestigious universities. They are well aware that their vile pronouncements are lies. They say anything they think will advance their careers, no matter how cynical and hypocritical it is. They have no morals, no beliefs and no regard for the interests of anyone but themselves. It is no surprise that their leader is Donald Trump, the supreme narcissist.
Ectopic preggs, accounts for less than 1% of all combind pregnancies tho, so for the 99% who wont die, is it still ok?
@@briguy808 yes. Abortion is a choice, if you do not want to have an abortion, don't. Do you make a habit of seeing "what's okay" for folks to do with their bodies? Are you simply against freedom and bodily autonomy? Is it okay that you think your opinion matters when it comes to anyone else's body?
@@Pookie515 I like to think my oppinion matters a little lol, and while yes its someone elses' body I dont think they should have the right to murder the unborn. But maybe im crazy lol
@@Pookie515ofc, excluding extenuating circumsances like that mentioned above
@@briguy808 Not sure what your question is; is _what_ still ok?
In 2009, estimated total pregnancies were at 6,369,000, so if the actual rate were 1%, about 637,000 women would be at risk each year, so that is how many women the Republicans would be happy to allow to die. (The figure is actually estimated to be closer to 2%.)
and these men are making health care decisions for all females.....
Scary isn't it?
What would happen if she would ask for someone who is not an idiot ask the questions. How can he continue to ask stupid questions?
Where are the normal educated Americans? Surely there are some? Watching from Australia it is like a car crash. It's horrible but I cant look away.
We're all busy working and living our lives. Our Congressional House is controlled by these morons so they get to lead all the committees and run all the hearings, so we end up with footage like this. Unfortunately, these exact idiots have cut SO MUCH funding to the schools over the last 30 years or so that people are getting dumber and less able to fight againat the brain-drain that's happening here 😞
The disoriented face of the doctor was precious! You could almost see the WTF popping into her head.
I saw that! 😆
Is there a woman on the judicial board? Could a woman as the questions? These guys are clueless.
A man should not have the right to make any decision regarding women
He makes me wish that abortion was retroactive. 🙄🤦♂️
"If a baby is half out of the birth canal, do you support the right to abort it?"
"Well, sir, if it will grow up to be a republican Senator asking stupid questions like this, I suppose I do."
“Never happened in your practice but it happens” with no source whatsoever
WTF....no...this would not be an abortion!!! This is why men should not be involved in the abortion question.
Men and politicians of both genders. Strictly doctor patient matter!!! Super important medical procedure. Saves lives.
A couple of things said by GQP reps that were particularly egregious were a woman who said "Democrats are aborting babies after they're born" 🙄(yeah, that's called infanticide) and a man who said "why is there an exception (of abortion) for an ectopic pregnancy? Why wouldn't we give that child a chance at life?" 🙄
If he didn't know what an ectopic pregnancy is maybe he should have researched it before making such STUPID remark.
That is so weird. They are grasping at straws
I don't think people realize how much bonding goes on during the later half of pregnancy if you decide to carry a pregnancy to term. No one is just, last minute deciding to terminate a late 2nd and 3rd trimester pregnancy and when the baby is incompatible with life, or mom's life is in danger, it is heart wrenching for the family to make that decision to terminate. They act like these docs don't care about the mothers or their babies.
They don't..they are telling the christians what they want to hear to continue to stay in power and keep women down.
@@LamaKING21 so doctors are killing healthy babies right in the delivery room after they are born? Healthy babies are being killed... do you actually believe this is something that is happening?Do you believe that women are carrying a babies for nine months and then decide to terminate the pregnancy? She couldn't answer the questions because it isn't.
@UCSnpCa42yK_90Slldy14x1A You do realize in this video he asked if abortion should be allowed up to delivery, in the birth canal and even after to which she did not have an answer. As for your question, yes it does happen and there are people who are advocating for this on the basis of it being just another protection to the woman's "right to choose."
However I will pose a thought for you.
Calling them lawmakers is a joke... 🤡
