Not only is it wrong to force a 10 y/o to give birth, I can't imagine her surviving AFTER giving birth.
Worse yet, the reality is that the child might have to give the baby away. That's so much trauma that doesn't go away throughout a woman's life. (I'm not saying that men don't go through that trauma too, but we're talking about a young female child.) It's all the way around just so much devastation for the child. And for women.
A child’s body is not equipped for pregnancy, she would most likely not be able to give birth to it if she does somehow manage to carry to term and her body would most likely be permanently damaged, leaving her infertile and dealing with permanent injuries for the rest of her life. And that is without taking into account the devastating psychological damage from this torture. Jfc these people are SICK
There is a very good chance she would just die in child birth.
If i was a doctor adn the child came in, I'd refuse to treat the child. If I was a hospital or insurance lawyer, I'd recommend refusal of treatment. Medicare should not cover it either. The risk of lawsuits of injury to the child and fetus is so high that it isn't worth it. The refusal will get a fine and bad press but reasonable people will see the hard truth.

My oldest sister was molested as a pre teen and had the baby at 13. The baby passed a couple day's after from birth defects.
My sister and husband tried for year's to have a baby, however My sister was not able to have another child. It is believed her getting pregnant and having that child when she was to young. Created the inability for her to have child when she and her husband were ready for a child. Abortion was not a choice as it was pre row v wade. Plus being Catholic ruled it out.
Forcing a child to have the child could destroy any chance of a family in the girl's future!
That's another thing "pro-lifers" often refuse to consider. The body of a little girl is so underdeveloped that, even if she did get pregnant and give birth, her reproductive organs may be so badly damaged that the likelihood of her ever having children again on her own terms is very slim.
In fact, even r@pe itself without the pregnancy can result in this. I once read this story about a PDF-file (you know what I mean) who abused three really young girls in the Philippines, one of which was an eighteen-month-old baby who sustained heavy physical damage as a result. Multiple reconstructive surgeries were done on the girl in question, and having grown up to her teens, she's long since recovered and from the abuse. But it has still left her infertile.
Child abuse of this kind has very real and detrimental consequences which "pro-lifers" seem adamant on minimizing and dismissing. This really goes to show how dangerous it is for them to come into power. Not only do they lack care for the people who give birth to children, they don't even care about children either.
After I was raped at 16, and Planned Parenthood helped me find a doctor to terminate the resulting pregnancy, I was very grateful and it was actually a positive experience.
I was passed out at the time I was raped, next door at my friend's house at my first ever drinking party. I had never even dated. I had sneaked out of my house after curfew to go and was anticipating drinking wine for the first time.
My parents were feminists and 100% supportive when I went to get the quick 10 minute procedure done. I was so happy. The doctor and nurses were kind and I learned that I was in control of my own body. Never drank to excess again.

I'm so, so sorry that you were raped, but very glad that you were able to get the compassionate, professional medical care you needed.

What about All the unwanted children, the abused and neglected children, the homeless children, all the group homes and foster care homes are full and they are demanding that a fetus is more important and deserves life more? I disagree, a woman’s body clearly isn’t designed for childbirth, if that were the case, no woman would ever die during child birth. Humans have evolved to have offspring with abnormally large heads (because we are a more intelligent species) which causes catastrophic damage to the mother. If the female sex was perfectly designed to give birth, they would have also evolved to have more efficient anatomy that can accommodate the fetuses extremely large head such as a more flexible pelvis or larger vaginal canal. The current maternal mortality rate in the US is 32.9 per 100,000 deaths which is significantly better than the stone ages but we are falling miles behind other developed countries.
My ten-year-old cousin isn't big enough to ride in a car without a booster seat, and now we want to debate whether it's safe for them to carry and deliver a pregnancy? Ten-year-olds can be fragile enough physically and emotionally that, in many ways, they're still just babies themselves. Ridiculous people like this woman want these babies to have babies. I've always been small for my age and at age ten people thought I was 8. I had to use a booster seat at the dinner table and sometimes at restaurants until I was almost 11. Also I weighed less than 80 pounds at age 10, I didn't reach 100 pounds until I was 16.

Even at 10 I knew babies and dolls were not the same and I though I've always liked helping with babies and adored my younger siblings and nieces and nephews, I preferred dolls because I didn't have to worry about the responsibility of keeping a baby alive.

I mean, maybe I guess I knew what life was at 10 but I didn't really comprehend or appreciate what that means. Think about it: I just watched an 18 year old throw her baby in the trash (umbilical cord still attached to baby) on Inside Edition. So, maybe that 18 year old didn't understand life or dolls. And she wasn't even r&ped. How would she feel if we all held her down and let someone r&pe her and let her figure out what to do. THE KID IS 10. She probably doesn't even get that she is pregnant. Imagine the birthing process - the body isn't formed and all the possibility of baby medical issues aside, the poor child's body is not ready for childbirth, r&pe or not. What disturbs me so much are the women who get behind this. We can yell at old white men and religious nuts but women? They should know better. I can't even stand to listen to people anymore. Please don't forget: they don't care about kids once their born. Only when they are embryos/fetuses. Later they are a burden on society. Free lunch? NO. Free tampons in school? NO.

The part of this that drives me nuts most is the idea that the female was designed for reproduction, even at 10. My own doctor told me this wasn't true and every doctor I've mentioned it to agreed. Not about the 10 year old, but females in general. Yes, we're born with the equipment. Yes, if f a young woman has a period, she is able to get pregnant. That doesn't mean her body is ready to give birth, much less than she can do so easily.
What did my doctor say? He said I had a hip structure like a cow's and should have an easier time giving birth. Of course at the time all I could think was "I have hips like a COW?!?" But what he was trying to say was that my pelvis was ideal for childbirth. Not all women are so lucky; some end up with a C section when doctors determine the baby is bigger than the birth canal. Twins can be difficult. So can breech or transverse births. We're not all the same. Some women give birth like squirting out a watermelon seed and some give birth like squirting out a watermelon. Which is the more likely for a 10 year old girl?
