My uncle was working on a machine at his farm. Not sure exactly what (this was something like 40 years ago). Anyways, it kicked back and practically sliced his nose in half, nearly lost the tip of his nose in the process. He didn't like doctors or hospitals very much. He just took some duct tape and taped the edges together, changing the tape when it lost its stickiness. Amazingly enough, he didn't get an infection and his nose actually healed up. I'm a medical professional and I am astounded that the "treatment" actually worked.
Duct tape does work on blisters, so it’s not unthinkable it would be able to prevent an infection too. Starve the area of air with glue that’s likely at least mildly toxic, and, well… good luck growing in that wound, bacteria, you’ll need it
"The burn killed the cancer... He's cancer free to this day" ...I mean... I can see his logic. Cancer is just basically a pile up of dead cells. He just incinerated it. And what happens if you completely destroy a cancerous lump? It can disappear forever. He basically did ye olde lancing/surgery. Crazy that he succeeded.
Cancer actually isn't so much a pile up of dead cells, as it is a pile up of cells growing abnormally that refuse to die. Normally if a cell is damaged in a way that would affect the way it functions or divides, it will destroy itself in a controlled manner. In cancer cells this self-destruct is essentially turned off. But while Cancer doesn't die on it's own, it can still die from other causes in the way a healthy cell would, for example from being jabbed with a glowing hot piece of metal. It did work for him, yes, but chances are he damaged and scarred a lot more healthy tissue than what regular surgical removal would have, and what he did could easily have been essentially useless if even a few cancer cells had survived his "treatment".
@@dethkruzer Yeah, there's another story I saw were a guy carved out a cancerous bump on his nose and ended up dying from it. But, to be fair, surgery doesn't promise it's gone. The guy blasting his off was more destructive so had better odds. Also, "cluster of cells growing abnormally and refusing to die" sounds like it'd make a good insult. :P
@@WolfyFancyLads Yup. There's a reason that modern surgical treatment is supplemented with radiation treatment and chemotherapy. You can usually cut out a much of a tumor with relatively little damage to the surrounding healthy tissue, but the radiation and chemo is there to clean up any remaining cancerous tissue left behind. Both modern treatments and the method mr Stabby Mcglowingmetal chose will damage and destroy perfectly healthy cells, but it is in a vast majority of cases preferable to letting the cancer run rampant.
I've used honey to treat wounds on a stray cat I used to have as it was under his chin (an abscess that had opened) so we couldn't bandage it. We got adopted by him while treating his injury. Among other things it Has to be 100% pure honey. It was amazing how quickly the wound healed!
My friend actually went to CVS once and bought some meds to relive some stomach pain she was having. Then the next day, she decided to go to the doctor in case it was a bad issue because it was more painful than your average stomach ache. She got to the hospital and was prescribed the same medication she had already bought from CVS the previous day. After a week and a half of taking the meds once a day around lunchtime like the box said, she was fine.
I was expecting more "temporary treatments" meant to hold the patient long enough to get to the Emergency room. I have done a few of them. Splinted broken arm using magazines (worked out nice cuz when we got to the ER, we had something to read). A hand that was a victim of a nail gun. Had another where the guy put his hand somewhere it shouldn't be and it basically exploded the tissues. I had to quickly piece together everything I could and wrapped it with electrical and duct tape and lots of paper towels. Wrapped that in a grocery bag and then ice with that wrapped in a garbage bag for transport. I had to stay behind and take care of the mess while another guy drove him. There was nerve damage but his hand looked to have recovered mostly (I met the guy again 2 years after).
I 'treated' a small abscess on my gum, thankfully it healed. I also had what looked to be ringworm on my arm; it was a scaly, itchy red area of skin in a perfect circle. I treated this with vodka and it also went away. It was just this 1 area, I can't say for certain what it was because I didn't go to the doctor. I also removed a tick from my leg with vodka, tweezers, and a lighter. I've not had any ill effects as of yet but don't do what I did, I just got lucky and could have gotten a nasty infection, heck people die from infections resulting from little scratches, I'm in the UK where we have free healthcare so it's not like I had the problem of not being able to afford medical bills, just in was lazy and stupid; I now take things seriously and treat health problems properly
TBH, vodka is great at sterilising wounds. Alcohol is also highly effective at dealing with fungal infections. It's not like you decided to treat the infection with a home made poultice of honey and dog shit.
The ignore medical issues is more so ,in america,at least, due to the high costs.a hospital will charge $2,000 for 2 generic asprin.not kidding.many people are neglecting their health because it comes down to shelter,or medication?food,or medical care
Or people who have been treated so poorly by the medical community that they no longer seek care until they are dragged in not breathing. Seeking care should not cause one to have an anxiety attack. Even if they can't make one feel better right away they don't have to make them feel worse.
When I was in college I would have itchy and watery ears after taking showers. I did not have q-tips on me so one day during class I folded a piece of copy paper and shoved it inside to try to clear them out. Unfortunately I made one of them too much like a ball and basically got it swallowed in my ear. I had a whole class to get through. I had a whole class to get through. I tried pulling it with a pencil. Didn't work When I got home I immediately thought tweezers. I didn't have any... but I had scissors. A sensible person with any hint sanity would stop right there in that line of thought. Not me. Not only was it damn painful but you had to be careful as the scissors grips on it and usually just tears pieces of it off while the pinching recoil pushes the rest in.. After telling the story (except for the scissors) to the nurses, they gave me a bottle of drops to try and gradually flush it out. each night was filled with sleepless soaking, uncontrollable itches and pains. Eventually I became desperate because of my work output suffering and tried to take out with the scissors without anyone knowing. Never did much and only achieved to make it hurt worse. Eventually with an examination showing clear scratches and irritation all over the inside my ear, the jig was up. Lets just say the nurses weren't too happy. They told me It's gotten so deep that I need to go to the ER for it. Thankfully managed to have it just barely pulled out by doctors. After an entire month of constsnt agony the absolute relief my ear felt the second the paper got out was amazing. No infections afterwards thank fuck. Never do any of this dumb shit ever. He told he he walked into the ER and they asked him what was wrong so he just lowed his sweater that he was using to basically hold his jaw in place and said he could see what was left of it just hanging there. One of the nurses passed out. 4+ hours, many doctors/surgeons, and almost 300 stiches later and he looks pretty good despite the chainsaw knocking out most of his teeth that were never found. Crazy dude. He was back to work in 2 weeks cutting down more trees
For the story about seizure dog, hypoglycemia, low calcium (hypocalcimia) typically in pregnant or lactating dogs (often cause of neuro and bp dysfunction.)
That last one with the pain pills.... I can think of another reason he might prefer to inject the medication. There's something called the "first-pass effect" which basically means that your digestive system breaks down a percentage of an oral drug before it hits your circulation. I don't know just what his "pain pills" were, but there's a good chance that he was getting more effect from the injection than swallowing them.

The torching skin cancer thing is crazy, but not too weird. So that dude, even though he should've gone to a doctor and what he did I DON'T CONDONE AT ALL, strangely did something close to what we do to treat some skin cancers. My late husband built a sand rail with a 1999 Honda accord car motor in it. It was crazy fast. One day he was racing his friend back to our house and his friend saw him flip through his review mirror. He did not even remember crashing until he looked in the mirror. His head swelled like the size of a basketball, broke his lower jaw in half. He did not like doctors either. He used dental floss to wrap around his teeth as tight as he could and an ace bandage around his head. He was eating soup thru a straw until it mended. After that he was fine.
Shortly after the divorce was finalized, my brother and sister went to their dad's for his weekend visitation. My brother fell off a skateboard and when we got him back three days later his foot was swollen and straight up purple. Obviously broken but our mom called his dad to ask why the hell he wasn't taken to the hospital. "My sister-in-law looked at it and said it was fine!" Y'all, his sister-in-law is an ultrasound tech
About the granddad with the open wound: I literally had my best friends grandma tell me "when we had cancer, we just died" when discussing medical treatments for the other 99%. Gee,, thanks grandma, I have cancer cells on my cervix at 31. I guess I should just die and leave my 4 young kids without a mom.
Honestly the dumbest thing I went to the hospital for was for a UTI waiting for hours. I could have just gone to a walk in clinic that would cost, but at least j wasn't at the hospital waiting for hours taking up someone else more serious issue lol
Not that crazy, but my dad used one of his magic hankies as a sling when I broke my arm. I wore one of my dad's props while going to see a doctor for a cast. Not crazy home remedy, just creative First Aid.
I pulled out my IUD on my own and nothing bad happened. I was scared too but it had to be done. I had had it in for way too long and had no money to go have a doc do EXACTLY the same thing I did. It would have cost just over 300$! plus after what it was like going and getting it PUT IN I was too scared to go anywhere near another obgyn for removal. The one that put it in was horrible! She mocked me and chided me for crying and being scared in the first place! I only started crying when the SHARP pains started. She told me to be quiet amd hold still. That it was "only a pinch and would be done in a moment." After it was done she kept glaring at me and saying I needed to toughen up and ish like that. The pain stayed and turned to cramps like period cramps and didnt go away for 11 days!!
When I met my boyfriend (later turned husband) he found out I had the norplant.birth control in my arm. Well we were drinking one night and I got rather very drunk.he choose to cut my arm and remove 2 of the 4. It became infected and I had to have a dr do the rest.
my exhusband once cut his thumb on his table saw was nasty , but instead of going to the ER to get it sewn up he just taped it up with duct tape...i couldn't do anything he wouldn't listen, and he was my ex so i just walked away shaking my head
Ever heard about oxygen poisoning as in you can die from too much oxygen. The irony of dying from too much oxygen theirs is a great quote from the book the martion.
Not a doctor but this is common sense. My grandmother got a hairline fracture and was told to keep it iced. No she didn’t, she left her foot by a heater and when it got infected my mum came over and put a bag of cold peas on it and my grandmother said “oh you’re a miracle worker!” During that whole broken foot period of time she refused to do anything herself. So her boyfriend had to wash her hair and do everything
Took dentistry into my own hands with treating an obnoxious abcess with nothing more than rubbing alcohol, thumbtack, lighter, and a warm water and hydrogen peroxide rinse.. i don't reccomend it. but i managed to lance the damn thing and cleared about 2 tsps of pus and rot from it. yes, i have a HIGH pain tolerance. I don't even flinch from a pnumonia vaccine / flu shots. it's just a tickle. I have a relative (whom i disowned for him being the biggest asshole on earth) who carved a tattoo of his ex's name out of his arm.. dk how he did except he used a torch-like lighter to cauterize it after he did it.
You would think religious people would believe in that God or Jesus put people here with the knowledge to heal certain problems we have and correct things we need corrected. But yet they still won't use the treatment because it's devil's work and only prayer should be the medicine.
While it is true that older folks are hardier, part of this is surely that the medical profession in the US is money obsessed and they have very little universal care. Its supposed to be a developed civilised country, I don't see much evidence of that when you look at the medical industry.
I remember when I was 13 I got shot in the leg with a hunting riffle. It was my gun. Some kids at the camping grounds I was at thought it was like one of their BB guns. I used to to ward off bears. We were 3 hours from town. My mom was taking nursing classes at the time, and I was watching my medical dramas and reading her notes for fun. Let me tell yall, even tho the scar is long gone (my mom made me use this lotion for it) it missed the major bits of my theigh. It tore my (I can't remember I'm 21 now, I wanna die when I get older) muscle and let me tell you, I have bad anxiety, but they're calm attacks, so between the 3 of us, my stepdad driving me to the hospital and my mom freaking out, I was calm, I was in so much fucking pain but there's no sense in freaking out when it only made me bleed more. We have a small first aid for the typical (burns, cuts, etc) but the guy I was talking to, had an emergency response kit and helped me bandage it up and put a tourniquet on it and got me into the truck. Those kids tho, they never came back. The parents were arrested for letting their 8 and 7 yearolds play with Airsoft guns and the kids were put in separate foster homes to keep them from getting into trouble. Idk where the kids are now. But I hope they grew up well. Getting shot was the scariest shit ever. I'm glad my grandparents taught me gun safety when I was 5. I always knew never to touch something without asking. If I was curious, just look at it, don't touch it until im supervised, etc, I made my first kill when I was 6-7 I can't entirely remember. I shot a rabbit tho. My second kill was a bear a few months before I got shot tho. 1 gunshot, warning. Two gunshots, kill. Thing ran at me. I was on a quad doing my rounds. And before yall say anything about how bad it is for a 13 yearold to be trusted with guns, I was the most trustworthy there. My brother, his friends and any of the girls there probably would have killed every bear like thing they see. The girls would be too scared to do anything. I didn't have friends, I was more focused on doing my own thing and before I was given my gun, the owner of the grounds let me prove that I can stay calm with it and safe. Pretty much everything my grandparents taught me from the day I could hold it up long enough to aim to even now, even though I need a license and stuff. That will be soon tho, I wanna take my boyfriend's pasty white ass hunting next spring.
Ok but it's really not that uncommon for people to have the vet do X-rays on them. Arm feels funny after some kind of fall? Vets coming out in a couple of days where just have them do the X-rays on you. Also, X-rays are really easy to read so if anything looks like it's too blurry to read get a second opinion. If anything looks cracked or any signs of arthritis (small bumps in between joints) definitely look further into it. But I can say I trust my Vet why more than I tust any doctor on this Earth.

The pain stayed and turned to cramps like period cramps and didnt go away for 11 days!!
literally the same thing happened to me and it was so close to falling out, i just pulled it out myself 🙃
When I met my boyfriend (later turned husband) he found out I had the norplant.birth control in my arm. Well we were drinking one night and I got rather very drunk.he choose to cut my arm and remove 2 of the 4. It became infected and I had to have a dr do the rest.
.... Did he do that early on and you still married him?
Why did you marry someone who mutilated you and cut out your birth control when you were drunk?
You still married him after that? D-:
Why did you marry him after that?
My boss broke his toe kicking a metal bat at work. Just put some tape on it, an extra sock, and helped fill a six ton skip
my exhusband once cut his thumb on his table saw was nasty , but instead of going to the ER to get it sewn up he just taped it up with duct tape...i couldn't do anything he wouldn't listen, and he was my ex so i just walked away shaking my head
Ever heard about oxygen poisoning as in you can die from too much oxygen. The irony of dying from too much oxygen theirs is a great quote from the book the martion.
The people on here probably could not afford an ambulance, or a doctor, so they had no choice. Have the balls NOT to ridicule.
was going to say nsomething about the Blow, with the vaccumm, but decided against it.
What’s with the bots lol
These are all American doctors, I bet. This shit doesn't happen if healthcare is free.
You would think religious people would believe in that God or Jesus put people here with the knowledge to heal certain problems we have and correct things we need corrected. But yet they still won't use the treatment because it's devil's work and only prayer should be the medicine.
Not every Christian is like that, Including me. I still have my vaccines and other medical practices done while still being faithful to God.
Pretty sure that's only a few people. I'm a believer and I believe that God does heal. Through vaccines and medications and doctors
the texture pen….. how did the female not get affected of some sort 😳
While it is true that older folks are hardier, part of this is surely that the medical profession in the US is money obsessed and they have very little universal care. Its supposed to be a developed civilised country, I don't see much evidence of that when you look at the medical industry.
You know, doctors aren’t that useless, they could just, you know, stop the more severe stuff before getting to that point.
Pokemon types are cancer and fire. Fire always winss... What the frick?
Really like the first story
Had a patient (50 M) that was paralyzed because he drank two bottles of hydrogen peroxide to "protect from covid" 🙃 some people lmao.
That doesn't make sense...do explain.
Story about the bamboo stick abortion.... please don't let that man make any more kids....
Porcelain heart Jesus Christ
Who the hell are those SIX dislikes.
-_- like why?..
Maybe they didn't like it because they cringed too much.
They’re disliking how stupid people are
@@mekaflory394 And what a fine mind reader you are, you are.
The skin cancer was like iysnot fucking worth it
Ok but it's really not that uncommon for people to have the vet do X-rays on them.
Wtf is with these self circumcisions and vasectomies? I mean I gotta give them props for making it as far as halfway through though, because fuck...
The ear guy was awful.
Why do people add "my then gf/bf, now wife/husband"?? It's never relevant to the story.
11:55 donate blood, you often get money from it so its better then free
How the actual frick did the ice cream not kill the dog?! 🍦➕🐶 (somehow doesn't) =☠ *IT JUST DON'T ADD UP!!! O_O*
Why would it?
@@catwoman2596 That's exactly my point: human ice cream isn't safe for dogs; that's why I'm surprised my aunt hasn't killed ours by feeding them SHERBET
Its HIPPA not HIPAA
What are you thinking of?
I saw your reply of 'I'm thinking your question is very odd' but obviously I meant 'why did you think it was HIPPA and not HIPAA? What is HIPPA?'.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act... Where's the 2nd "P" in that?
My lil bro got shot in the foot with a nerf gun and he thought it was real and he put his whole fupoot in our Vaseline
little dose he know....
