    disabling resizable bar is a huge mistake, on other cards, it may not be a huge deal. but intel needs resizable bar in order to maintain good performance, your fps can get cut in half or even lower without resizable bar on intel arc.

      I guess when I revisit this card I will have to give it a go, with and without resizable bar. I still feel like other issues were at play that no one will figure out due to Intel's drivers being funky.

      All ,but of the review insisted on enabling "Resizible Bar".
      Wander,why?

      I remember Gamers Nexus saying that "ReBAR, even though it isn't technically required for the card to work... it is."
      I played around on the system at my house that was running a 5700G APU, MSI B550 Gaming Plus, and the Challenger A380.
      With ReBAR? Most things ran fine. No GPU related crashes... yet.
      Without ReBAR? Oh please. Dear lord. Smash the PC with a hammer. League of Legends caused stuttering and issues.

      agree, if u dont have those options in ur motherboard then stay away from intel cards, lets go!

      this video is a completely inaccurate representation of the a380 alot of the problems with your card are due to their not being any rebar intels drivers now are completely fine and their isnt any real problems ive been experiencing with my arc card (the a770) with re bar and after some testing I can replicate some of your problems but only when re bar is off.

    That 96 bit memory bus is tiny.

    • @BudgetBin
      @BudgetBin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I wonder how much of it effected performance compared to a card with a much wider bus.

    There are three bad things about Intel ARC A380 I think are still present at current days (correct me if I'm wrong):
    1. There's still no native support for any DirectX version besides latest DirectX 12 and Vulcan APIs. Intel ARCs are still not supporting any of the older DirectX versions and any games using them are running on an Intel wrapper that as I'm aware is converting games older DirectX's versions to DirectX 12, which leads to dropping performance compared to NVidia and AMD GPUs that can run these older games with their native older DirectX versions without using any kind of conversion. This including DirectX 9c that's still used quite A LOT by many indie games on Steam developed by smaller companies / publishers, and even DirectX 11 that is still EXTREMELY OFTEN USED in many of the pretty recent games still has NO NATIVE SUPPORT! While DirectX 8 and 10 / 10.1 are not that much used nowadays, I can't see a point DirectX 9c and 11 to lacks any native support on Intel's ARC GPUs!
    2. For some reason the ARC' entry-level GPU - A380, has a major issues with somewhat drivers' incompatibility with specific games where they would just crash or refusing to launch or work properly. I watched an another more recent TH-cam video about with an updated review about all three Intel ARC dedicated GPUs and it was showing FPS results from some games. Strange thing is, on 3-4 of the tested games there's was no any FPS results from the ARC A380, only from the bigger A750 and A770. Seems these games has flat-out has either refused to work properly, or not even launching on A380. The strange thing is, in fact appears only the entry-level ARC A380 seems to suffer that kind of incompatibility on some games (unable to launch or run them properly) on specific PC configurations, while the higher-end and the more expensive Intel ARC A750 / A770 seems to can run any game pretty much flawlessly - that is pretty bad news for entry-level gamers!
    3. If you are on a lower budget and want to play games on any of these older business PCs, like HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc., and you're not mind playing games on Full HD 1080p, HD+ 900p, HD Ready 768p or lower, rather than on 1440p or 4K resolution and on Low / Medium graphic settings... Here are the bad news - Intel ARC GPUs, unlike AMD and NVidia, has no real compatibility with these high-quality and solid built but an old business or workstations, or any PCs with older Intel CPUs below 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake. The reason: Intel ARC dedicated GPUs are relying on the Intel's ResizeBar technology for a proper performance that is pretty much being only present on pretty more recent Intel 10th (Comet Lake) and newer CPUs or AMD Ryzen CPUs! Unfortunately, even though in my country Bulgaria, majority of the business PCs offered are being with either 3rd (Ivy Bridge), 4th (Haswell), 6th (Sky Lake), 7th (Kaby Lake) and recently with 8th (Coffee Lake) Intel Generation CPUs, or workstations with an older Intel Xeon CPU that are completely unsupported as there's NO WAY to have ResizeBar present at all on these workstations or business PCs if you're in the group of the entry-level gamers or you're at lower budget, which means ANY Intel ARC GPU installed on any of those quality but old HP / Lenovo / Fujitsu / Dell business PCs or workstations that cannot have ReisizeBar, will make Intel ARC GPUs, as A380 for example - to suffer a pretty major drops and lags in performance, compared to NVidia GTX 1630 or AMD RX 6400!
    I hope this to be useful to anyone!

    I just wanted to say here but GTA IV, the 512MB of VRAM is a very common issue that even I had with my RX 6700XT. I forgot the fix but I remember it had something to do with replacing a specific file.

    Did you uninstall ALL of the Old Drivers? Some Old Nvidia Drivers could affect ita performance/usage.
    Just like AMD GPU, if you don’t successfully uninstall All of the old drivers then it would cause problems.

    • @BudgetBin
      @BudgetBin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I made sure I did. Intel's gpus are just heavily relying on resizable bar (which is sad), in order to pull as much power as possible. I only had one driver installed on my PC (RTX2070) which I uninstalled before I started that month on end of Arc A380 usage.

    That card gives me RX400 series vibes. Any unreal engine game that was released after the RX400 series was released. Had troubles. I tried playing final fantasy 15 on a RX 470 and it just wouldn't work. It took them a half a year to fix it. I bought a GTX 1060 after that.

      @@RelatableWinnie pretty good on the games I play which are mostly racing games. I'd say at 1080p high about an 80 fps average. I have resizable bar on and xmp on in the bios. It's paired with a 12100f CPU and a b660 motherboard.
