Thank you. Joanie is getting quite old. Her lungs are not what they used to be after she had heart worm. She sleeps a lot. She will be out there fishing with us though.

The batteries are very cold get them some place warm and let them sit over night they should start charging.
I am not sure I could sleep in a trailer on ice. I know it is done all the time but guess it is not my thing.

Great video Joe. You're correct on the weather, currently 20 above at the time of this comment. There's nothing like the Minnesota warm-up of 40 degrees or almost 60 if you add in the windchill. You two will have a blast fishing and enjoying the Ice Castle.

I know what you mean Joe. I get nervous when i go camping. Kinda worried is something going to happen to car. But once im there its a relief and fun.
That is EXACTLY how I am. Melissa is super excited and I feel like a buzz kill trying to be excited (which I am) but still nervous because we are not there yet.
I had hand warmers installed on my quad, it makes it nice to ride in the cold and it only took 20 minutes for my buddy to install.
We had a similar problem with our lights on a trailer. I ended up getting a set of temp travel lights and affixed with magnets and not using the trailer ones.

I know you probably have layers on your legs, but be careful when you kneel when it’s so cold. I had a guy I worked with that had a flat tire at 10 below. He kneeled down to change the tire and ended up with huge blisters that covered his knees due to severe frostbite.
Wow! What was the temp when that happened!?😮
It was 10 below Fahrenheit at the time and he had jeans on.

I had heated hand grips for my 4 wheeler they work really well I don't think they are expensive you might like them

Joe the fish finder only gets us so far. it's up to us to catch them. I don't own one as I don't have a boat but they are cool. have fun ice fishing and stay safe while there.

What would you estimate each fish you catch costs? Between the ice castle, generators, back up generators, battery boxes, fishing gear, tools and miscellaneous equipment, gas, grills, licenses, rentals, tents ? Conservatively, thats roundabout $4000 per fish lol
If you use your solar panels for bluetti how do you anchor them if it's wendy.
They send you stakes for them but on the ice I would want screw in stakes if it was windy.

17:00 you said you have plenty of 12v plugs for the live bait cooler.. But is your cord long enough to reach between the plug and where you set your bait cooler? (Remember the aerator keeps the water from turning solid. So you'll want to keep it plugged in whilst fishing.)💖🌞🌵😷
Yes Suzi, it came with a pretty nice cord. Keep in mind, we keep it 72 degrees in the fish house so the water wont freeze but the minnows need the water moving for oxygen.
@@NorthernSeclusion, when I travel, I sometimes forget that my cords might not reach, so I always carry an extra extension cord. 💖🌞🌵😷 Ps. For some reason I thought that the ice still wasn't thick enough and you'd be fishing outside the camper in a hot tent.
From the huts and tents I see on our lakes that is def. a castle . Catch some fish now lol.
I have found you can have so much stuff that it takes the fun out of it. Sometimes the simple things bring more happiness.
Not for us, being prepared for anything is what drives us both. I want to be fishing and it is like I am sitting in my living room. I do the simple fishing also but what we are doing here is really what we love.
This time of the year we always used non oxy gasoline for good starting and running.

In my opinion way to much stuff to drag along with you, we find with our camper we leave more at home every time we go camping

What keeps the slush in the bucket when you pick it up??
The auger (ice auger) pulls the ice up like a drill bit. As it comes up it dumps into the "bucket" part. Once full I take it out a dump it. Stay tuned, I will show that when we start drilling holes.

Joe, I still say you should put a video of your language mishap's along with the physical mishap that caused those language mishap's. It may offend some of your viewer's but I would absolutely get a good laugh from it. It happens to all of us at some time. It surely happens with me. Maybe give a warning upfront for those that may take offense to it? I'm fairly sure the majority of your viewer's would get a good kick in the pants from a special Joes Language Mishap Edition video.

I just got my tent on my pond so I can be out all day tomorrow. I might even do some night light fishing. Got the wood stove in my tent to. I cleared the ice area and let it freeze a bit deeper then sprayed water for more thickness and broke the shore up as my pond can be bad for not being too thick. Should be a great day and it will be the first time I’m out on my own. I got a rope tied to shore just in case 😂 let’s goooo

All LiFePo power stations, like your Bluetti, will be drained, if it gets too cold, (unlike a lead acid battery), so keep it as warm as possible. If your new battery freezes, even if you warm it up, you don’t get the previously-charged power back.
I think your truck owners manual has a detail of the socket in it.
Does not matter what the truck is unless I can match the wires from the fish house. The colors do not match.
Joe, keep in mind those diesel heaters work on a delta temperature rise, they can only rise the temperature so much over ambient. Obviously going from 60f will give you much better results than -20f. For this unit to be really successful, it needs to be inside, exhaust and combustion air outside obviously. I think on one of your videos you stated Melissa can’t stand the smell of diesel. These units in general don’t smell diesel, it’s the tank and any spills that will smell and linger. You can mitigate this by mounting the tanks outside. Caution when mounting indoors to isolate the exhaust extremely well, I took and infrared thermometer to mine and almost pooped my pants, it’s damn hot, touch it and your skin will stay there.

The latch on my storm door freezes. I fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spritz it good. It thaws instantly and the alcohol keeps it from freezing again for a few days. Maybe keep a spray bottle of Alcohol by your ice house door just in case it freezes shut.

Our Buddy Heater was frozen...used a hair dryer to heat it up a little...great product...started up once unfrozen.

Anytime i don't a trailer light check hook the trailer to towing Vehicle you get your ground frim the ball!

just a suggestion i use to work on locks and its not good to use liquid on them only use graphite and a little heat this will work better for you on locks ,liquid will cause the pins to suction in place and you wont be able to get the lock to unlock,liquid works on locks some when your lucky. love your videos been watch for a lone time.

Big fish ends the end of feb. We still pan fish well through march with the wheel house if the weather permits.
