Hey Joe, Melissa’s gonna love the idea that you’re doing about the rooster 🐓 with your wood burner. You’re always thinking of others and don’t get pissed because we haven’t forgotten about the surgery so please take care! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
I watched Melissa's Smothered Chops video the day she put it out, followed her recipe to the letter a few days later. My family loves it. I make it like every 5-6 weeks, so I've made it dozens of times. By far, the best way to do pork chops. We call it "Melissa's pork chops". I've gotten some good recipes from Joe and Melissa. A big thanks for that.
Love the Jodie gal and how she responds to you! You have such balance on top of logs, ladders etc. and just carry and move such heavy stuff. Wow! My husband that passed introduced me to your channel and I still watch it always. You always have a project to do. Melissa is lucky to have you!!
You are here, there and everywhere.. I get it it's monotonous doing one thing over and over!! Oh boy more diesel heaters to play with. I had a wood burning kit when I was in my early teens, they are fun. Stay safe and have a great day.👍
Thanks for sharing with us Joe and Melissa. Getting a lot done around there without all the snow. Sure hope winter doesn't get out of hand around there. Stay safe and keep up the good work and videos and have fun while you're at it. Fred.
All last winter I kept thinking I wish you had a place for the wood , it looked so tough on you , this year it’s like you have planned so well, and winter has given you time ,good luck with all your other projects at least they will nice and warm 👍
Joe, you have single handedly changed my perception of sketchers footwear. Firewood prep? Sketchers, carpentry?, sketchers. Drag the mastodon out of the woods to camp?, sketchers . Seems like a brand deal is in order .🤔
Hey Joe. I used to do wood burning years ago. Back then all we used was like a sodering iron with different tips. My dad did it for a long time. The hardest one he ever did was a train scene coming around a mountain. It took him 2 weeks of working on it after work each day to finish it. I got a new kit a couple of Christmas ago but haven't tried it yet. It's different from what I am use to.
well, the guy with the Trailor will be happy to be able to change the tires with no weight. nice wood worker machine. I did that for a short time years ago. stay safe.
Great video Joe. With the holidays behind us now we can settle in for a cold winter. I'm so glad that the work you have completed toward the wood load for this winter is going to make you have to do less cold work Joe. I'm really enjoying the projects inside the new, old kitchen and Melissa's pottery studio. Joni was so cute laying outside on your coat, all curled up Joe. Well, we are suppose to get snow this whole week with coldness here in Iowa. TC you two, and all of the animals. Vicki from Iowa. 🐶🐱✌️🌲⛄🫕🐓🌲🥔
Thank you Vicky. We got about 3 inches of snow here yesterday and it looks like we might get a couple more 1 inch snowfalls this week. It is also getting cold out there. The lakes are making ice.
Up at our hunting cabin we use one of those wood burners to log when we are up there opening day for deer hunting. Kind of cool to see all the names and years on our table.
Can't wait to see what Melissa's pottery studio looks like. We did pottery in art class a few times when I was in junior high and I loved it. I loved everything about art class but the pottery was my favorite. I don't know if there have classes near me or not. Be cool if they do. Ik its probably weird but I love watching you split and stack that wood😂😂. Great video Joe. I'm going to be making fried pork steak for dinner tomorrow Lord willing so I'm going to go find Melissa's video😊. Tyfs God bless you
Great video as always Joe. I understand about getting antsie and not getting out to do projects. I've been prepping to begin converting our basement for food prep i.e. storage. Getting a freeze dryer within the next month or so and have been looking more into the solar generator system (Bluetti or Eco Flow) you've done videos on to handle all of the equipment for that space. Along with a fridge and other equipment, we'll use for that area. Keep up the great work.
Joe try this with wood burning the rooster...tape him all the way around with duct tape to hold it in place on your piece of wood. Then trace it all out with a lead pencil...that won't take long. Then you can burn it with the wood burner..small tip for small spaces. Larger tip for larger spaces. 👍
HEY JOE, as a certified electrician , rule of thumb is 80% of your breaker or fuse , whatever you have. However that législative regulation. Not several high demand pieces of equipment will run at the same time, or rarely. I do this for a living in Canada 🇨🇦, I always do an amp test to verify my work with a meter, and with that this tells you what direction to go. 240 volts for motor equipment is typically better and consumes les amperage, if you have that available of course. Reach out to me anytime if you have any questions Joe...be glad to try help out any way I can..😊21:20
Finally figured out why ,for me as a woman, it's hard to watch the wood cutting/stacking videos: cuz it's like doing dishes. Ya just plowed thru a load, and along comes another pile. All the very best to you and loved ones in '24.
I've been trying to visualize a chandelier in a ceramics workshop. Sounds "tacky chic." I've really been looking forward to seeing Melissa's shop come together! I'm sure she's getting excited about the progress! And that wood etching kit seems pretty cool.
Love your channels!!! I have been watching both for at least 5 years. I don’t comment and I am sure I I’m not your typical viewer, 😀 Anyway all the best to you and your family in this new year. (Joanie was a joy to watch. She loves her dad!)
Joanie says "I don't think nothing about New Years Dad, unless you're wanting to share, some of that good food with me""! If ya do, then it's " I'm in heaven"!!! Lol!😅
Love your videos!! On you're rooster, if you could take that stencil to a place with a CNC machine they could cut you a metal stencil and then you would burn the stencil using a handheld torch. Would look great.
You should make yourself a branding iron of your name. Use that to mark your furniture or what ever. Its just a stamp made of metal on a soldering iron.
Sweet Joni laying on your coat🤍🤎 This has been such a great winter for catching up, but here comes the cold. The high here in NW North Dakota is going to be in the minus 8 category 😱I'd rather have cold than piles of snow. Do you feel the same? Looks like you're ready for it!
Snow really makes everything about life outside much more work. It sucks. Lol. NW ND, you must be up by Williston. I built houses out there for 3 years. 1 inch of snow and some wind out there and it is a whiteout. Saw my first sand storm out there. There is a certain beauty about North Dakota when you can look over the wide open space and see a storm that is 20 miles away even though it is sunny where you are. I truly loved being out there.
@@NorthernSeclusion Actually I put NW but I meant SW. I have spent plenty of time up in Williston. I like it better down here. I am right on the edge of the national grasslands so lots of wild horses and buffalo and amazing scenery. I only miss the trees. I do wish we had more.
Joe, if I may ask: who makes your big blue vice in the workshop? Can’t help but laugh…….thanks for moving the tiller to an under cover spot 🤣 now I can sleep at night 😂😴 Another great video……as always 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick (Va)

There’s nothing nostalgic about it and if I am watching TV I’m watching something else and I’ll look over and go oh it’s past midnight 30 minutes ago. Because once you pet her she will usually not leave you alone. LOL. I liked New Years ball drop back when Dick Clark was hosting it. Now it just seems like one huge commercial with a totally different demographic and people I have no idea who they are.
Apparently you do not watch many of the videos. It heats the house and the hot water for the house and it heats both front and back of the workshop building and it heats the guesthouse. It heats all that for less than what it used to cost to heat just the house. Also there is 3 occupants in the house. Actually, you really should not have even commented due to the fact that you have no fucking clue what you are talking about.
For the wood burning kit templates, make sure the template is tight to the surface of the board or whatever you are transferring it to, mask it off to avoid overspray and give it a light coat of contrasting spray paint and let it dry. Remove thr template and then burn in the pattern.

Yes, I did a December trip up there with Zachary that normally we could have never done. Those videos are on the Joe and Zach Survival channel. I think with the snow we got yesterday I probably can not drive in to the tent and next time will have to cross the ice to get there.
I will do a short video on that this coming week. After today the unit will have been sent to the winner so I can announce that there was a winner without any spam comments.

I thought the woodshed looked a bit small. Doesn't matter. No matter how you big you build it, it will never be big enough. You just have to build to the size that best suit your needs. I don't know if it is right, but I try to error on the larger size wire and breakers. Joanie is judging you. She thinks you should relax and nap more.

I wonder if a couple of solar panels on the workshop would offset the electricity costs from the pottery studio.

Yes, I did a December trip up there with Zachary that normally we could have never done. Those videos are on the Joe and Zach Survival channel. I think with the snow we got yesterday I probably can not drive in to the tent and next time will have to cross the ice to get there.
How much do you burn in the boiler in the winter tme
24 cords of wood gets us through the 7 plus months we burn it. It heats 3 buildings and the house hot water.
Is that Zachs diesel heater in the workshop or did you get a new one? I have one like yours but I'm thinking about getting a tall model.
They are mine. I have 3 of them now. I still have to do videos on the two I showed and talked about in this video out in the workshop.
What happened to the Bluetti giveaway video?
I will do a short video on that this coming week. After today the unit will have been sent to the winner so I can announce that there was a winner without any spam comments.

Sketchers. I always wear Sketchers.
