More U.S. Military Equipment and HIMARS Rocket System Arrive in Philippines for Defense exercise

Philippine Army Soldiers with the 1st Army Artillery Regiment, along with U.S. Army Soldiers with 3rd Platoon, Alpha Battery, 1st Long Range Gunnery Battalion, 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, U.S. Marines. with Weapons Company, 1/5th Battalion Landing Team, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and U.S. Navy Sailors. Assault Craft Unit 5 has arrived in RIZAL, LUZON, PHILIPPINES for Costal Defense Exercise.
Balikatan 24 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences
In addition to the deployment of U.S. Equipment and HIMARS Rocket System in Rizal, Luzon, Philippines, US also deployed military equipment at Campong Ulay, Rizal, Palawan, Philippines to participate in a live-fire coastal defense exercise as part of Exercise Balikatan 24

Our grandfather and granduncle were USAFFE soldiers. Our grandfather survived the "Fall of Bataan" and the "Death March" to Capas, Tarlac. Sadly, his brother-in-law was killed at the artillery battery in Corregidor. Many Americans and Filipinos perished in those battles. When I hear people talk about the national heroes during the Spanish Revolution, however truly heroes they are, they don't resonate as much with our family as the later heroes WE KNEW, or at least we see in the family photo album. To those who have forgotten, the Philippines and US Mutual Defence Treaty were based on the sweat, blood, and lives of real heroes from both sides. After suffering illness at the internment camp, he returned to tell his sister the bad news.
