Happened to luck into putting the first 1200 miles on a 2023 Prius from a Budget Rent-a-Car, if you can believe it. Severely tempting in so many ways. But, I'm of similar dimensions, and yeah, I get in and out, but it was a grunt every time. And that was in great weather... bad weather, ick. And, yeah, the rear visibility is painful. We can all get over losing USB A ports. They offer very low wattage for charging todays phones. It's easy to get a cheap converter if you need it. USB C cables are higher wattage, easier to plug in (no up/down alignment) and will charge an iphone or android in quicker.
I really don't think you should knock getting in this car being not everyone is your shape, if it's a a problem then one would buy a bigger car. Not every single car should fit everyone perfectly.
One problem is availability. I have a deposit down for one. My dealer says that Toyota plans to produce only 36,000 for the first year, which is how many they sold last year. There are 1,270 Toyota dealerships in the U.S., meaning that on average each dealership will be allocated only two Priuses per month the first year.

Good luck finding tires as the size isn't standard in America. Also know toyotas expected goal was to sell 35,000 this year and sales numbers thus far aren't even getting there so don't expect these tires to become common, they won't. Toyota sells that many rav4 in a single month. This will vary depending on where you live but where i am I checked around and only place i could find a tire for it was 45 minutes away at a dealership, dealerships closer to me didn't have it. Now imagine blowing a tire out of town... yeah, this could and honestly very rightfully should be a deal breaker for many people.
A dealer here is asking $2k over MSRP in Prius and Prime. But I don’t need a car since my 2017 Lexus ES350 just hits 39k miles. I will wait a couple of years for its price to go back to MSRP or wait for the 2025 Lexus ES hybrid. Just bought my wife a 2024 Lexus NX350H at MSRP and no add ons, I remember for the last year or so every dealer were asking $3-5k markup, I refuse to play that game.
The only issue with the Prius. They didn’t think it through on the front bumper. Nobody wants a big rectangle block on the front of there vehicle. With more and more sticker front plates coming along you can’t even blame that.
no prius around my area(need to wait at least one year) or there is one like far away with insane mark up price with 5k to 10k more. I personally looking at other brands for hybrid
Gas here in NW Oregon is well over $4 a gallon for regular and climbing. I would elect to get the 2023 Prius model LE this delivers the highest MPG than all the other more expensive sub models of the Prius. MPG is going to be the most important issue soon with all vehicles as petroleum is going to be more expensive. It is beyond stupid for the U.S. major car companies that could not design a vehicle such as a Prius when they had over 2 decades to do so, and now we have to buy a car made in Japan. GM blew it when they discontinued the Volt in 2019. They could have expanded that line and had hybrid and hybrid plug in vehicles approaching and breaking the 60 MPG barrier.
Everything is better except the loss of internal cargo area. Might be a challenge to get everything I need in there for a week at Burning Man, but should be able to sleep in the back of the car like I do with my 2010 Prius.
Nice LOOKING car (Outside). Great mileage. Misses on everything else! As a six footer I will never buy this car. My second generation Prius was a great car.
Cant wait to buy one later this year. Hopefully they will still have avalibility. Going for the prime model though to get much more powerful battery and acceleration. Have a 4x4 truck for winter weather.
Is the seat height adjustable to compensate for the poor headroom? The two screens are a bit of an eyesore…one is white on black and the other is black on white.
I never owned a Prius before. What if one morning I find out that I forgot to plug in the prius at my home , will the car run in gas mode since it knows the EV juice is low? Thanks.
I see, but my question is again before you crank or "push" the start button, is the car on default in ELECTRIC mode or you have the available options? Im rooting for the available gas option because I'm worried if the battery pack or the electric assist system gives up down the line and gets stuck with the car until the necessary repair is done. I prefer to have either options really to prolong either system.@@Josh-179

Wife and I have owned two primes since 2017 we are currently on a waiting list to grab one of these
A dealer here is asking $2k over MSRP in Prius and Prime.
The car looks amazing, the passanger space makes it impossible for me unfortunately
So the new Prius interior is similar to the Chevy Volt in size. that was one of the downsides to the Volt that the Prius had over it.
I'd personally buy a Camry XLE hybrid with a spacious rear seat, a normal dashboard and a much quieter interior.
Until it starts rattling. Garbage quality control
Camry is so dated looking inside and out
hatch is more convenient for me personally
You should be reviewing the Prius prime. 61 mpg and 39 miles pure ev
The headroom is lacking, but that is such a great looking car
So you answered my question it doesn’t really go the speed limit that’s posted on the road
My local dealership is sold out. They are waitlisting only ATM.
right off the bat I have to say the back window to see back is pretty small
Totally agree, but find one!
Wow I love that a lot!
The Penis is such a good car now! it's amazing what they've done to it. I'll probably buy one soon!
That darn auto correct got ya lol

It's 65 And 400 pounds there is no way I could have the Is car It's beautiful and everything I want except the roof is too low
14:29 the camera person is escaping.
The only issue with the Prius. They didn’t think it through on the front bumper. Nobody wants a big rectangle block on the front of there vehicle. With more and more sticker front plates coming along you can’t even blame that.
Poor Nathan seemed seriously out of breath just getting in the driver’s seat and never recovered. 😢
Hello, I'm only 5'6 and the displays seem kinda high for me, do you know if the driver's seat can be adjusted to sit higher?
Mine is the limited and it has power seats that go up, down, back and forward as well as lumbar support.
no prius around my area(need to wait at least one year) or there is one like far away with insane mark up price with 5k to 10k more. I personally looking at other brands for hybrid
Nice car. I'll wait until my Honda Clarity decides to die to get a new car. I appreciate you thoroughness.
One thing i always hated about my prius was the brightness. Too much windshield
I bought the mine on January, but the dealer said that will coming next year
Can you leave the heat/air conditioning on with the car off like the old ones… like for camping
Price ?
More than you can afford pal. PRIUS!
I love these silent electric cars but then they cheapen out with the sound insulation so road noise comes through.
Raise the roof 3 inches and make it a wagon.
You end up with the horrendous looking Prius V. We finally have a great looking Prius and a few concessions had to be made.
Is the prime coming with a spare tire? If no, are you fine with that?
@@gk.4102 no spare
Is the seat height adjustable to compensate for the poor headroom?
The two screens are a bit of an eyesore…one is white on black and the other is black on white.
I never owned a Prius before. What if one morning I find out that I forgot to plug in the prius at my home , will the car run in gas mode since it knows the EV juice is low? Thanks.
You don't plug in a regular Prius. A Prius Prime is a plug in hybrid but plugging in isn't necessary. It will always run if you have gas.
I am thinking of buying this Prius XLE FWD or wait for the 2025 Lexus ES hybrid. I don’t need a car now as my 2017 Lexus ES350 just hit 39K miles.
Interesting Prius always have nice front room. But too low profile. Not for people with back pain.
No wiper on the rear window is a problem.
would be nice if tha front plate that tommy doesnt like, is remobable....there are places where front plate is not required
Same design for Camry or Avalon please with spare tire, more room and LOW road noise😎
If only I could find one at a local dealer!!
