Great drawing - definitely a cartoony style. I like the minimalist nature of this. The only thing is - you made yourself look about 20 years older than the reference pic. First time watching any vid of yours and I've been watching a lot of procreate tuts lately. New to digital drawing, myself, so trying to see as many styles as I can and learn as many tips/tricks, etc. I have to disagree with you on part of your statement, personally. I love to recreate images that I see. And as long as I'm not selling them - I think it's perfectly fine to try to illustrate someone else's image. I'm not a fan of stealing anyone else's work for commercial gain, by any means. But there are sites that exist where people upload images FOR you to use for commercial purposes - whether for drawing, illustrating or anything else. And as long as you have permission to use someone else's image for whatever you're doing - there's absolutely nothing wrong with using images and photos that aren't yours. It doesn't make you less of an artist to do so and it doesn't make you more of an artist to not do so. You may not have an image or photo of the thing you want to illustrate and someone else may - if they don't mind you using their stuff - go ahead.
That’s great that you have your own personal intentions when it comes to art inspiration and reference drawing. I do believe finding inspiration or reference work to fuel creativity is a great thing but there are caveats to that if not handled properly. It’s totally okay to disagree with what I’m saying and I’m well aware that there are sites you can be use as inspiration to create digital or even traditional work but the unfortunate truth is that some people do copy / steal / or neglect the idea of give the credit to the original creator. That’s just the reality of it. So, on my platform I try to give people the slightest inspiration to use your own source of photography for this particular tutorial, to avoid the middle man and it can potentially spare the headache in the long run. Ive personally had someone monetize off of my work without me knowing or even giving me credit for my original work and I had to call the person out on that. I’ve also, mentioned in my video to make sure to get granted permission if you are going to use someone’s else work, which you’ve already mentioned in your response lol so some of ours ideas do align. Ultimately I try to speak in generalities in my videos because everyone’s personal experiences and preferences aren’t the same. Of course we are entitled to our own opinions on this stance so my response isn’t to convince you to think otherwise but I will stand on what I’ve said due to my personal experience in digital space art.
In the past I use to but I’ve been so busy, so I thought I’d make a video to show people how to do it themselves which made life easier for everyone else

No problem Eric sorry for the daily.
Where can I get the sushi outline pen ?
Dope bro .
Thank you bro. I’ll be posting a part 2 this week. Stay tuned
