    When I do an oil change on my Raptor I always remove the filler plug before the sump plug to ensure there is no vacuum during the drain. The reason being a faster oil dump can aid sludge and debris evacuation.

    I take out the oil filter o-ring and fully lube it with fresh oil. One thing garages tend to do is sometimes over fill your oil level. When you get your bike back from a service check the oil level yourself, you may find that you need to drain some... or maybe even add some.

    You can remove an oilfilter with 2 screwdrivers in a 90degree angle from each other. This method helped me out when all else failed.

    Great vid it's nice that a biker does this to show how it's done and to show how it can be done without going to a garage brill like a boss lol

    The only way anyone knows a service has been done properly is when you do it yaself......saving shite loads of money.......giving piece of mind for those who are willing and capable to carry out most relatively easy tasks Getting to know ya own bike is worth it time and time again.....
    As for the gibbon who hung off ya filter........

    Does anyone know how many miles to change the fz09 at is it the same 3000 k like a sport bike?

    • @bradsimpson1970
      @bradsimpson1970 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do mine every 3k. At the end of the day, it’s cheap & easy to do. And essentially a high performance engine. So why not. ✌️👍

    Shouldn’t the bike be flat on the floor to check oil correctly . Having the rear wheel off the floor will give you an incorrect reading

    Have you had any issues with the clutch slipping with using fully synthetic oil compared to semi

    Your ratchet switch rule is not always correct, depends on the make of ratchet which way the switch works. Better to physically check the tool for drive direction.
    Do you measure your oil going in?
    Don't you use a decent torque wrench for the sump plug?........Ask Santa for one :)

    • @WEGGYZZR
      @WEGGYZZR 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hepcat Harley Always measure the oil via a basic jug........then the usual is to let it run......let it sit for complete settlement of the oil in the sump and check again........

    • @HepcatHarley
      @HepcatHarley 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I do mate, check the manual for amount then measure that in a jug then recheck after a quick warm up. Seems the right way to me :)

    • @WEGGYZZR
      @WEGGYZZR 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And i always check the rotation of any ratchet by hand first....just to make sure...old habits die hard buddy

    • @HepcatHarley
      @HepcatHarley 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too mate, even without thinking about it :)
      Clock dial method, if it ratchets to the left it's on Clockwise drive, or tighty as Andy says. My ratchet switch is right for "loosey" so I don't use that method no no no :)
