  • In this video we install the DNA air filter on my 2021 Yamaha MT09.
I also did the ECU flash here locally in Orlando with more details to come so you can do yours too once we work out the kinks and try a few different setups for the absolute best results! Also we go on the road to show you the way it performs and sounds! All footage was shoot in Mexico :)

3:28 be careful guys, when you losen this front bolt, the tank might drop down and hit the frame. and the bottom of the tank is sharper than I thought is it😢
shoulda put double layers of bubble wrap in between or do some kind of protection before removing the tank...

Thanks yamayari ! This has been a great instructional video for me . This is my first riding season and my bike is my therapy . I had 3 spine surgeries and I’ve been stuck in bed for almost 3 years since my accident (in a big rig ) so I can’t do any physical activities; so finally I figured hey ; I can sit for awhile so why don’t I try getting back on a bike . I bought a couple of different bikes and quickly sold them and realized I needed a bike like a tracer 9 gt . So slowly have been putting some mods on and now I need the bike ecu flashed , but there’s zero videos for the 21 tracer 9 ecu or filter removal. So a friend from a forum shared your video with me . By far the best in depth instructions out of any of the videos I could find related to the mt-09 great job on the video , your a natural teacher bro . I’m gonna go start taking my bike apart now . I live in mass and I haven’t found anywhere local to do the ecu so im sending it off to New Jersey I think and while I wait im ordering that same air filter you have in the video . Thanks so much man ! For a first year rider this is huge having these videos to help me through the diy jobs . I’m out of work since my accident so I have limited income . So I try to do these jobs at home .
Love Yamaha ! I started out as a kid on a 83 Yamaha mx 100 and now finnally have another Yamaha .
im now a subscriber to your channel and I’m gonna follow along and go check out your other videos .

I have dna stage 2 also with VCycleNut flash and Mivv. Sounds absolutely insane! I road it around for a few weeks with just the flash and the exhaust as i was waiting for the dna to arrive. It was flashed for the intake and I was told it’s ok to ride w stock filter while I wait. I wasn’t overly impressed at first and David said just wait for the filter and man he wasn’t kidding. Sound and performance was immediately noticeable. When u hear that intake open up above 5500 rpm’s it’s like nothing you’ve heard on a bike before! It’s addicting for sure!

Really helped me. I noticed a bit of a crease or crimp in the fuel line, and hope I turned it the same way, but seeing that, I don’t know. It fired right up, so hopefully not a problem. I got the reflash from Vcyclenut, and went with the BMC filter, race version. It’s much like that DNA you showed. Looks like 60s for temps this week, and I’m looking forward to getting some rides in. 😊

I love that bike. I'm planning to get that bike later in a year or two when I am better in finance and physicality. I'm still a little sore from the previous motorcycle accident that I had, and may need surgery for my arm. One thing's for sure. GAAAAAALEEEE! Just to change the air filter you got to take the whole top part of the bike apart?! That's just freaking crazy! With the Honda that I used to have it was just taking off the seat and there's a little compartment you could just open up and change this filter. Lucky this whole strip down just for an a filter won't deter me away from getting this bike, if I can get it in the future. I'm definitely going to need a new helmet I'm thinking about getting the same helmet that I had that protected my head from the recent accident. I'm definitely getting a jacket too. No more tank tops or shirts for me when riding again because I do not want to suffer road rash again. That was freaking painful. I just hope my shoulder heals up in time I'm going to need MRI because the doctor the bone doctor said I might have a torn rotary cuff. It's like more bad news just right after my bones started sort of healing up. My ribs feel weird ever since it's been broken four of them. It's not painful anymore, but it feels weird sometimes I just can't lean over on them. My clavicle it's got a big knot, but the doctor said it's looking good. It's just my arm I cannot raise it up and every time I bump into something it hurts like crazy like a sharp knife. That's why I need the MRI. One thing's for sure no matter how my arm turns out. I'm going to get the bike that I want.

So sounds like I should only get the filter if I just want a bit more throttle response. I’m keeping the stock exhaust since it’s well hidden and not in your face like all these aftermarket ones.
