Kopaka fighting in Ko-Koro was the most powerful scene for the heroes in the movie. And the biggest success. The Rakshi's hand freeze scene will never stop being iconic.
Eh, his one eye gives him more of the "eye patch wearing badass", like Snake. Or even moreso, he gives off more of the "Badass Cyborg" look too, I.E. Terminator.
I think what I loved is he used his mask to calculate where to throw his swords so that he would perfectly land on them and ski away. Never thought to use the mask like that
Subtle moment at 4:20 : it looks like Gali’s color fades as she falls back, I guess drained from using her powers. She then gets her colors back by the river.
I like how he acts all edgy and like he doesn't care but and is a loner but at no point dose he leave anyone in harms way. whenever he leaves someone or "abandons" people he only ever dose it when said people are no longer in harms way. he lets the pair follow him without complaint and protects them till they are safe and are once more on the right track to continue there quest even if he doesn't like it. he abandons gali and the others so he can save pohatu and onwa but only after he is certain that the others are no longer in need of his skills. dispite everything he cares deeply for others and simply doesn't like showing it. but would never leave or abandon anyone till he knows they no longer need him.
He certainly had "duty" down out of the 3 virtues. He's practically the Batman of the group where as Tahu was more of the wolverine (not to mention being voiced by Scott McNiel who also voiced our favorite canadian clawed hero.)
Gali: "do you think the Turaga were right about us? have we lost our Unity?" Kopaka: **walks off, no elaboration** We learn later that he left to get Onua and Pohatu out of the collapsed tunnel in time for the final fight against the Rahkshi. X-Ray Vision mask. The lack of communication is just... 😙👌
I always thought as a kid, when Kopaka walks off; it wasn't because he didn't want to stay and talk, but because he was a man of action. He gets up and goes off to find the answer himself, for his own eyes. Whether its to protect another villian, gather allies or just sit alone to ask that same question to himself. While tahu rushes head first into a problem, Kopaka rushes mind first; two sides of the same coin.
Also that he knows that here isn't where he's needed. It's embarrassing for Onua needing to be dug out by Kopaka, but if Kopaka hadn't checked they might have remained buried for the final fight. The others were focused on Tahu and Gali, then the mask. Sidenote: Is that part of why Kopaka is Kaita with Pohatu and Onua? They're both good at doing grand things that benefit multiple others, Kopaka helps them remember the smaller things as well
funny thing i noticed about the bohrok: excluding the shields, the look like the Filmmakers used models of the sets (that were probabply used to render the official boxart) to depict them. based on the look of the shields, which have some weird discs where pistons/drills should be, i'd say those were probably some Nuhvok.
I love how in this movie the Toa Nuva never really use their weapons in melee. When the Toa nuva back when they were Toa mata were trained by Hydraxon mostly in melee. M O S T L Y
IIRC due to parental concerns Lego were very cagey about depicting the Toa using their weapons as melee weapons against actual enemies. Dunno if they went back on that, but that's what I heard was applicable to the films. (Also why they were formally called "Toa tools" in the lore and never referred to as weapons.)
@@youraftermyrobotbee In lore, the Toa have a rule not to kill. If they kill accidentally, they just get a stern talking to by a Turaga. If they kill intentionally, they are stripped of their title as Toa.
One thing that i got to enjoy (bc i could focus on it more) in this movie more than in the book is that Kopaka really just shows up, does his thing, and as soon as he's done Off He Fucks. Its accidentally hilarious, my man has had his mandatory social interaction for the hour and he needs to go recharge Right Now or else he'll melt into a puddle
Kopaka likes to keep things short and to the point - more time talking is less time thinking. He probably knows that Takua and Jaller are on a mission, he knows the Chronicler enough to know if he's there, it's important, all he wants is just the details. He knows that he wouldn't resist three Rahkshi simultaneously, thus only counters and avoids direct conflict until he knows specifically who or what they're chasing, and then traps them in ice with minimal effort one they're distracted. And once he knows that the way is clear, he leaves to where he may be needed, which just so happens to be Onu Koro.

I don't know if I forgot this, or just the dub I listened to was translated badly, but I thought only Gali healed Tahu with just water.I guess it makes more sense now that all 3 Toa used some kinda "healing" powers.
Unlike them, he had the ability to completely encase them in something. The Rahkshi could just walk through a raging torrent or a wall of flame even if it damaged them, but ice? Nope. They're stopped dead in their tracks.
I don't understand how Lewa the toa of air could invoke the elemental power of fire. Even when using Tahu's sword Lewa can only channel his elemental powers throught it.
It's because pretty much only he and Pohatu had the ability to completely encase the Rahkshi in something solid. Sure, Onua could've trapped them in dirt but it'd be loose enough that they could break out
So these three body Tahu while in his elemental, then get wrecked by Kopaka in his element? Does Tahu ever not get the short end of the stick in this series?
