Respect for the basecup trade lighthouse, most of the people dont even throw the ken on the lighthouse they just hold ken and tama on basecup by one hand and turn it over.
@@mediochrist Butterfly, tornado, and handroll off the top of my head! Spacewalk too, but you need to first get over your fear of dropping your kendama/ getting hit in the face. P.S. Flying V is a very beginner-friendly string trick. :)
I have a question about string length. The kendama I have has a "two-finger" length (about 38cm from the point it exits the Tama to the point it enters the Ken), but looking at people on youtube it seems that most players go for a longer string. What string length are you using on this video? I know that it's a two-year old video, but i see you answer recent comments so i dared to ask... Thanks for the infos! I'll try some of these tricks out as soon as I stop being the total noob I am at the moment! Cheers.
Of course! Yea the kendama I'm using in this video has about an 8 finger string (56cm-ish), which is pretty much middle ground in my experience. Your 2 finger string is definitely usable, but will make some tricks a bit tougher to land (especially when first learning). Some of the kendamas I've used, even fresh out of the box came with like 10+ fingers which made things like juggles wayyy easier. With all that said, use what you've got! If you have replacement string then a bit of length might help you out, but if not, you can still absolutely get out of noob territory with what you've got😅 Enjoy the ride!
@@mediochrist I got both sweets kendamas. I got a sweets jorganson and a sweets lab 24 and still super sicked about them by chance do you have a sweets rolling pin because that what im thinking about getting next
@@justinckh1623 Awesome damas man, can't go wrong with Sweets! I've never tried the rolling pin but it looks pretty fun👀 and thank you for watching and commenting my dude!
Good stuff! Keep up the great videos. Zero Spin to Lunar is an underrated transfer imo if you want to try it out! As for Base Cup to Lighthouse, I would usually call that Base Cup Trade Lighthouse. It's a trade because we let go of what we hold and regrip the other part in a fluid motion, without tossing to spin ala swap or doing a juggle between.
I used to play too much with these back in 2016/17, I found my old kendama and decided to watch some videos because I’ve gotten a lot worse since then😢 Damn I feel old
Which fun ones did I miss? 👀
Here are 5 more! th-cam.com/video/HhOaDmbN9eI/w-d-xo.html
Whirlwind
@@squobbles4824 100%, Whirly's gotta be in the next list👀

Respect for the basecup trade lighthouse, most of the people dont even throw the ken on the lighthouse they just hold ken and tama on basecup by one hand and turn it over.
Haha thanks dude, that seems like the cheap way out😂
Basecup flip to Lighthouse for life! Basecup pressure Lighthouse house is valid but too many people hand it lol.
Your Amazing At Kendama Brother. Great Great Job
This list needs more string flow! I think it's the funnest part of kendama, and it's why my style is almost all string flow.
100%, string flow can be super fun and satisfying, any specific string flow trick you think would fit nicely into the next list? 👀
@@mediochrist Butterfly, tornado, and handroll off the top of my head! Spacewalk too, but you need to first get over your fear of dropping your kendama/ getting hit in the face.

Is there a name for the earth turn hail mary type?
Hey sorry I'm late to your comment😅 It would just be called a double/triple/quadruple/etc Earthturn, depending how many turns you get!
Is donut kendama good?
Yea! Tracking is decent but the cushion clear paint is great. Also tastes quite lovely

I'll give it a go for sure! And thanks for the heads up on the terminology lmao, that makes a lot more sense😅
Is this a rendition of our Mexican boliche?
It's a very similar ball and cup style toy! The kendama originated in Japan😅
Awesome
Glad you liked the tricks!!
I have this Kendama too😨
Ayeee

one time I did a hail mary whirlwind and landed a quint whirly lmao
This is the dream
