    The name of the video should be "Top 20 Best Powermove Trickers in the World", and then I'd agree with the TOP. Because if we take the creativity, Kicking (which is something I see less and less), form and cleaner tech into consideration, to me Guthrie is still the higher average. Ilya would go up some places as well.
    Zen and Shosei have a lot of power no doubt, but man their tech is just not that pleasant to watch. In the end tricks with proper form are way harder that tricks with crappy form and sometimes we tend to forget that when we watch a high powermove landed, even if the tech form is bad.
    Anyways nice video, I still love to watch compilations of amazing trickers on youtube :)

      shosei his kicks have improved insane over the years also technique and creativity is something he is working on insanely hard. The new double flips say it all. I think your opinion is kinda outdated and this stuff was only true years ago but thats just my opinion

    • @BestofTricking
      @BestofTricking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @Leaf Shinobi @td !
      While it would be too long to explain my reasoning behind EVERY tricker's rank in this video, I can definitely explain these few-
      1) Why Ryota wasn't included- He has good power moves(triple cork, wrap trip combos, wrap dub dub), but very sloppy; i wanted to include trickers that had a good ratio of high power to level of execution (If he were included I would choose to put him in the honorable mentions)
      2) Why Aidan was only in honorable mentions- Like ryota, he has good power moves (triple cork, quad full, full in) AND has a high level of execution. However, when ranking trickers, I was taking into account power, execution, and style. When I think of Aidan, all I think of is "clean". Not to detract from him in any way, but I don't think he has any moves that he is better at than anyone else in terms of creativity. I would compare him to Brendan Morrisson (Mastering Tricking) but at a much higher level of difficulty. To me, "clean" is not a style
      3) Why Tiki wasn't included- Again, I would have put him in the honorable mentions. Yes, quad cork and trip-trip are both VERY high level, but in terms of creativity, his body of work is lacking. I see Tiki primarily as a "numbers" tricker with little in terms of variation. Most of his posts are 2222, 32, 0203, 1003, 203, etc. When taking style into account, he falls short of a lot of other trickers on this list. If this was a list that included trampoline, I definitely would have placed him high on the list.
      4) Why Riku and Jordon ARE included- In terms of power moves, they do both fall short of many trickers on this list, which is why is placed them in the bottom 2 places of the 20. However, they are two of the most stylish trickers in the game right now, and almost all of their combos are primarily variated moves, with a lot of breakdancing (Riku), groundwork variations (both), and uncommon transitions (Jordon). They aren't entirely behind on power, with Riku having one of the best snapus out there as well as being able to cali roll and triple full, and Jordon being able to triple cork, trip dub, and wrap dub dub.
      5) Nick Fry's placement- In my opinion, placing Nick Fry lower than top 10 would be unfair to his body of work. He is well known for ridiculous twisting and power moves (dub x5, triple atwist, quad full, standing triple full, randy, standing double back, full in) as well as creativity (heli, sidewinder, full gumbi hyperhook). I think the only other trickers in the list that are comparable to him would be Fuju or Haruki (who also happen to be closely behind him)
      6) Byron's placement- While his variations and creativity are lacking, his power moves are the bulk of why I placed him at 13. His arsenal of power tricks aren't too far behind Shosei and Zen in terms of double flips. Full in on grass, double full in, double gainer, full full, and multiple setups for double back and full in. If he did more variations, I'd place him higher, and if his double flips weren't as impressive, I'd place him a lot lower. (Similar to my reasoning behind Niko's placement, lots of power and double flips but not nearly as much in the areas of twisting and variations).
      Sorry about the essay haha, hopefully this gives you an insight to why I included/didn't include some of these trickers.
      I'm also planning on making videos which evaluate and showcase each individual tricker (people on this list and people that aren't on it either, I'm always open to suggestions)

    I'm happy to see someone making that kind of video who can actually explain his ranking system in the comments with more than "He did that move once.". I think you should explain it at the beginning of the video so people could have the reading grid for the rankings.
    However I have to say that I disagree a lot with some of the names in there. Even though all the trickers you put in are great trickers in their own rights, some of them shouldn't even be in the honorable mention (no disrespect, but the scene right now is just stack with too much talent). Aidan Kennedy, Andrey Veer, Tiki Wu, Jacob Pinto should all be in the top 20 and the top 10 in the case of Tiki. I understand your point that being clean isn't a style, the same way that being powerfull isn't a style but no one is just clean or powerful. The style of a tricker is a mix of these characteristics with the moves, combos, transitions, variations they chose to use, his body, the way he moves and the spirit he puts into his tricks. I don't necessarily like the style of all the best trickers I just mentionned and I would rather some other names at the top but those guys deserve their spot. They are consistent, they have power, they are clean, they are technical (Aidan is a bit under on that regard) and they have variety. Tiki is the only one who also have originality that's why I put him in the top 10 because he has ist all.

    • @BestofTricking
      @BestofTricking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with the way you explained it, but I had to limit the list to what I felt were the trickers that consistently landed the highest level and most innovative skills with the highest level of execution. I know there are a ton of trickers that are at the top right now as opposed to just a few at the top a couple years ago, but if I included all of them it wouldn't be a top 20 video, it would just be a compilation of good trickers.
      I also disagree with anyone that says Jacob Pinto should be top 20. He *used* to be one of the best, back when triple cork and cheat 12 were the hardest tricks anyone could do, but the bar has been raised so much higher that I don't think Pinto even comes close to the top trickers of today. I've heard several people say he should be in the top, but I haven't heard anyone argue WHY he should be. No shade to Pinto, but in my opinion, people think higher of him than he deserves. He's definitely one of the OGs but stopped consistently training and now has fallen far behind what I think people would consider the best.

    • @FelixTonlorenzi
      @FelixTonlorenzi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BestofTricking I agree that Pinto tends to be overrated by the community.
      However it’s unfair to act like he stopped at triple cork. He did dub swing triple and dub, swing gainer switch, swing triple. It’s not like he just landed triple cork from tdr. Also he did stuff such as backside 12 vanish 12 which puts him above a lot of people in term of vert tricks in this list.
      Yes he isn’t a top 10 tricker, he is probably more in the second half of the top 20. But he is still in there. His power level and his technical skills are comparable with the people at that level and he is also really clean, not really original though.

    • @BestofTricking
      @BestofTricking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you perfectly explained my reasoning for his non-placement with your second paragraph there. Yes, his execution is good, and his difficulty could be considered somewhere in the top 17-19 range (17-19 in this list), but his creativity is severely lacking. The occasional cork snapu and shuriken cutter aren't enough to hold a spot among the best these days. If I had made this list in 2015, he'd be in the top 20 for sure. But even looking at some of the lower-ranked trickers in this list, I don't think he compares. Fuju at 14th, regularly doing triple cork, wrap triple, and shurikane as well as techincal combos with GMS and atwist gumbi. Anatolii at 16th doing quad full, full in, and double layout as well as combos with blasterscoot, swing valdez, and full feilong knife. I just don't think Pinto has what it takes to be considered one of the best anymore

    Anis still has the crown far as I am concerned no one took it from Anis. Easily Number 1 the creativity with kicks the cleaness he had un matched. His life changed for the better beautiful wife two kids a stunt career. I have no doubt if his life did not shift for the better he still be #1
    Sess was ahead of times his creativity alone he is a class by himself. I seen so called trickers today do a combo sess did it back in day to some degree.
    Todays guys are about power moves no kicks at all. If you cant kick your not a tricker kicking you stand out. I came up with Anis and those old school guys we kicked trained our kicks we flip and twisted to. We drilled are basics kids today can go on a website a choose and pick 8 want to learn this and that we was exploring etc. Its amazing what these guys can do today zen, shosha etc. Talented guys. I think the kicks will come back. I try to tell kids today your not goint to move like this forever you will be able to kick alot longer than flips and twist train your kicks.

    • @BestofTricking
      @BestofTricking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this is an extremely outdated take and I encourage you to check out people like Tiki, Mikael, Haruki, etc. Yes Zen is at the forefront of pushing power moves, but he's also doing higher level kicks than most people have ever done, and they're at a way higher quality than kicks back in the day. I have massive respect for Anis and the original pioneers of tricking, as well as Guthrie and Pinto who were more recently at the forefront. They have great kicks, I'm not denying that, but the trend that I've noticed is people who share your opinion seem to think more twists/flips=bad regardless of any other factors. The final hook kick on Zen's shurikane is cleaner than most trickers' standing spin hook kick, today or in 2006. Cheat 1440 has been done by people like Shosei and Haruki so cleanly that at this point I think they're partially limited by anatomy. Tricks like jackknife turbo, wrap 1260 double, cheat 1260 jackknife, cheat 900 double knife, etc. didn't exist back when tricking started, and I think that's a great thing! Tricking will never evolve if everyone just does clean cheat 7s and pop 3s forever. I've actually made a bunch of kick compilations of today's trickers and I encourage you to check those out, you might just not be aware of what's out there.

I love mike but zen can just about do every move mike can and just more. You are sleeping on zen. The guy is an underrated killer who came close to beating shosei in battles in 2019 ( twice).
