UPDATED: Moza R3 and Fanatec CSL R2R Bundles are $400 and for PC are MILES better than anything I mentioned here. Haven't used either personally but direct drive is the sauce and that's what you want to get into for PC if possible. For Xbox, the R3 is also compatible - the wheels in this video are still "good" just shop for them very discounted from their listed prices.

@@raylmaooo Can't say for certain as I haven't used either personally. I've used Moza's R5 and really like it, and Fanatec seems to be on a stretch of customer service issues, but also Fanatec is stronger and might be acquired by Corsair which I think will be a good thing. I'd just recommend looking up reviews for both and going from there.

      @NPCLiam  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@wheresmylplate1965 I’m not really saying it is - I’m saying if you’re spending $250 already, maybe even $300, you can get ALOT more for just another $100 and if you’re serious about getting into things and wanting a super crispy experience consider these other options vs getting a Logitech first then maybe just a short time later getting a R3 and now you’ve spend almost $700. If someone isn’t in a position to go for $400 like I wasn’t when I got my G920 then those other options are always there.

I went from a Thrustmaster TX straight to a Fanatec DD2. It's a GIANT price gap. The TX setup was probably $500-$600 at the time with the triple pedals, alcantara wheel, and shifter. Then the rig it was on was like $300. Just the DD2 base alone was $1500. My current rig probably costs around (with the ultra wide monitor) $5000. Right now is the time to buy (as of 11/20/23) Fanatec is selling everything for dirt cheap. That DD2 is 1/2 off and so are the V3 pedals (with damper/brake kits)

Smart man! Then you can think of adding onto that in the future vs upgrading something you already have. If you don’t have a rig yet, I would consider something super solid that is overkill for your current equipment. So that when you do upgrade to a stronger wheelbase in the future, you know your rig will be able to handle the forces the new base outputs.

I got my G29 with shifter for £190 new, and put together my rig about a month after for £130, it's basic but it works, and about a month after that I picked up a cheap VR headset. Been way more fun than any other gaming apart from tactical SIM games

I’m on the thrustmaster side of things
Because especially if you’re on console, you can upgrade more
Like starting off with the T3PA pedals you can go to a loadcell pedals LCM or just a better spring set up with the T3PM pedals or you can have a cheap h shifter or a metal better shifter
Or a handbrake/ sequential shifter, thrust master has no end to their wheel based from the cheap tmx all the way to a few direct drive set ups

Of you can afford it, wait until Black Friday and try to pick up a Fanatec CSL DD bundle since that is probably the best value mid range wheel on the market so you wouldn't likely be wanting an upgrade for quite some time.

After using the TMX for 4 years I just recently upgraded to the moza R5. What I can say is the TMX was amazing and never gave me a single problem. The only notable things I can say about it is that over time the belts and gears get super loud, my D-Pad was loose when I got it (always worked no problems) and the force feedback is bare minimum compared to other wheels. However for $200 it was absolutely amazing for the time I had it. Moving on now, the Moza R5 is an absolute game changer. Way more force feedback, way quieter, way smoother, is way more responsive. Much better obviously. Long story short what I’m trying to say is I think it is 110% worth save the extra money and getting a Direct Drive wheel. Moza is even making a new R3 which would be the perfect beginning wheel.

Get a used thrustmaster t300rs gr or tx, theyre relatively inexpensive now and are honestly all you need (good force and smooth operstion due to it veing belt driven + console compatibility).Or look at lower end direct drive options from fanatec or moza. There are also other brands that have good bundle prices like cammus and pxn.

Found a TMX new in box for $150 a few years ago on marketplace. Been using it ever since, never had any issues. Would be nice to have the shifty boy add on but I would have to get the different pedal plate so I have the clutch.. also the paddle shifters on the TMX aren’t bad. Have a nice solid click, aren’t hard to pull and are made of metal so they feel good and much less prone to breaking compared to plastic paddles. Force feedback is enough to make you second guess simulation steering but if you want to have your thumb snapped off when you hit a wall, be my guest.

The G920 is a good simulation wheel. You may have to adjust the force feedback and other settings to your liking to get the best experience you want. It’s also a very sturdy wheel as well. I accidentally dropped it once when I was trying to fix my setup and the wheel still felt the same.

What i've noticed is that when you get a pc for gaming, you will fall into these rabbit hole for a community that you like (At least from me and my friends experience). For example, the mechanical kb community where no matter how many kb you build, you convince yourself that you can build a better sounding one or a better aesthetic build. Same goes for even the pc building, racing sim and even gaming mice.
And you know what? Go for it, if its fun for you then do it, spend money on them if you have it and just be happy with the things you bought for your hobby.

I brought a Thrustmaster T80 (Ferrari 488 Edition) for about £80 on Black Friday brand new and it was decent. Games don’t register it as a steering wheel and instead thinks it’s a PS4 controller. Didn’t expect that but it’s alright. Only works in PS4 games not PS5 games. Brought the wheel before I got a PS5 so now I regret it…

gear and belt gives you the downsides of both proformice wise but instead of the logi rattle you get a load seat belt sound. but my recommendation used to be just get a t300 rs gt but now a days to can basically get moza dd for the same price. so i say nowa days get a used logi g wheel for as cheap as possible and see if your gonna aculy use it(a lot of wheels just set cus people dont feel like setting them up) than if you know you like it and are gonna use it buy a moza dd or a fanatec gt dd pro need ps5 support

Considering an upgrade to t150 but I have no honest issues the thrust master t80 (bungee cord / no FBB) wheel. If you drive the same car often you’ll sort of figure out the resistance without the rumble/electronic resistance

Biggest issue people point out is the 270 degree limited turn radius but that’s actually optimal for most high speed tracks. That being said, Upgrade to FFB wheel for added immersion not necessarily faster laps
