Always like playing in workouts. I like doing focused exercises first, playing for a bit and then finish with a burnout. Like focusing on pistol squat progressions, playing with jumps, balancing or duck walks and then end with a high rep set of squats to really finish the legs. 😊

There ya go! That sounds like a great leg workout and super functional, especially the plyometrics.

Thanks for the video, good ideas. I never thought about the different planes as a way to group different exercises. The Play idea is also good for both mind and muscles, because then you actively explore what your body can do and how that feels. In my mind that is extremely valuable in the functional point of view: the isolated movements of many exercises don't translate that well to real life situations where the muscles aren't isolated.

You can see kids do all these kinds of stuff. It improves their functional fitness. Unfortunately, we give up such activities when we grow up...

Hi Ryan, I do not know is this comment is offtopic, but I have found my training at home to be extremely functional when practicing other sports. I am almost 46, I train 3 days a week at home doing on average 4 different exercises (push pull squat hinge) in a circuit schema. I use calistenics and resistance bands. Each training takes me half an hour or less. Tuesday and thursday I train swimming, and my performance in terms of resistance and power is excellent, I can compare myself with others 20 years younger 🙂

I'd like to see calisthenics that I can do as a 64-year-old man who recently had rotator cuff surgery. I'm looking for exercises to do when I fully recover from the surgery.

Thank you! Added to the list. In the meantime, if you have no prior exercise experience, I made this video a while back for seniors to get started and it’s received a lot of praise. I hope it helps:

Please create more videos for complete beginners or for people who spend a lot of time at a desk, for example 15 minutes of morning exercises.

@@AlphaGeekgirl the internet is full of the video/info they are asking for. A huge amount of this guys channel is dedicated to beginners. Asking for a video in the comments before searching his channel is a funny idea to me.

Really generally enjoyed the video. Not sure if the AI adds more engagement at the start of the video, but I’m not a big fan of it, as it takes a lot of work from many artists’ work without the artists actually making that art

Who would disagree with Play? My program has one day dedicated to Play, but I like call it Conditioning 😆.
Once a week of primal movements or just experimenting around the floor.
