"Anyone can be a busy fool" - My business next door neighbour. He's absolutely right. In the beginning you may have to take on business that doesn't pay well. However you get paid in experience allowing you to earn more in the future. If you are offered something that doesn't pay well enough, I think it is better to spend that time looking for something that does and building a business that you want.
I went from hourly to per/project about a year ago and doubled my income with less clients. Shoutout to Chris Do for helping me realize that. I'm glad the message is spreading.
this is really good advice - I signed up to Physique Academy where they had a three month upfront lock it. The volume of the programme was so high that I developed pretty debilitating golfers elbow that I couldn't get rid of for months and when I said I'm injured so I need to cancel - I got a response saying if you don't continue to pay we will ruin your credit score.
30 sessions is held as the gold standard at least in fitness first where i started my PT career. 30 x $70 per session = $2100 per week - $320 gym rent = $1780 per week Thats $89k per year pre tax provided your clients are perfect and stay all year. Throw in extras like a trainerize subscription and education (gotta get those CECs) $89k is a borderline unliveable wage in Sydney unless you’re living with your parents This is why PT is a broken industry dominated by children
Hello James, I am a newly certified personal trainer, eager to start my journey in the fitness industry with passion and dedication. Currently, I am looking for a gym where I can offer my services and train my own clients. Since I am just starting out and have few or no clients yet, my financial resources for rental agreements are unfortunately limited. What advice can you give me? Thank you in advance!
You said in a previous video about setting your hourly rate high and then offering a package of 10 sessions. Is this best or would you still go in with a flat hourly rate?
i am curious how to know what to set as a starting hourly rate. would be doing anxiety coaching. would i bill an hour a week but say £55 per week, and limit it to an hour call? or any whatsapping as well
@@JamesSmithBusiness ha good point. the first few clients will be helping me perfect my program. i have dealt with anxiety for the majority of my adult life and have coached people online unpaid to some level of success. but not taken all the bespoke help and made a program out of it yet.

I'm so glad you said 30 sessions a week is exhausting. People don't get that.

$70 bucks a session? I was charging $120 in 2017.
Its a broken industry if you charge 70 bucks an hour.

I coach athletes, do I still fit your business mentorship ?
There are a lot of people in the mentorship that don't do personal training. It is relevant to many different professions.
