My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a great show for all ages and both genders. The humor is great, the animation is very well done, and the story itself is very good because the characters each have pros and cons, something the original show lacked. Because of this, they can pull off simple stories and make it amazing!
2:24 That's why they made laptops, and earphones/earbuds/shit-that-sticks-into-your-ear-that-makes-noise-and-doesn't-let-the-whole-damn-world-know-what-the-hell-you're-listening-to!
I was introduced to the show by a lady friend back in late 2010 while I was bored waiting for my next class that day. It was interesting, though I didn't get more into it until early 2012. It's pretty interesting, in my opinion, though there are definitely those with an unhealthy obsession with the show. It was honestly the fan base that lured me back after watching what the lady friend showed me in 2010.
A lady friend recommended it to me (understatement, actually) back in early 2012. So, I was bored one evening and decided "You know what? What the hell?" and gave it a shot, starting with the first 2 episodes. I was hooked, and have been since.
John David Tibbetts Well, at the very least Johnny has a poster of Rainbow Dash in hi room and they have referenced the show multiple times since then. They might not be super fans, but I think they have a general interest if they keep bringing it up.
Did you just say your BSC as if you own it? Even though this is something provided for everyone for free? They can do what they'd any and you have no control over it.
I know that, but how far has he gone with the show? And I think Ryan said he liked the first few episodes enough. Has he watched any more of it? And what about Ted and Lewis?
at 7:28 yes, just give it a shot, if you like it great, if you don't fine. Watch "Winter Wrap Up" first, I personally think it's the best episode. Just saw published date, this comment is soo late sorry :-S.
The best thing about my little pony is that it's been given heart. It's not just thrown out it's been given care, it has effort, and it's good. I see things as an artist. And Friendship is Magic is art
I watch the show, and I reccomend you either watch a random episode or the first 2 episodes of season 2. Chocolate rain, guys. Chocolate rain. Only if you want to, of course.
Honestly, the show is worth it. My friend presented this to me, and first I objected, then I opened up and realised how beautiful it is. This is better than any modern American show I have seen in a while.
Derpy Hooves shows up in every episode in the background with her eyes being either 'derped' or normal. that's the joke, her eyes go from crossed to normal every so often.
Johnnie, watch the show but only at night...and make sure no one is awake when you're watching it. Your family might wonder if they found out what you were planning on watching.
I do find it to be a genuinely entertaining show. I think it is because of 2 factors. Nostalgia, reminding us of the cartoons we loved as children despite it being one that we probably would have avoided at the time. And 2, the comedy. It is genuinely funny. I found myself laughing out loud at several of the jokes within it.
Give the show a shot. I (as a 20+ year old male) was skeptical at first, but found myself very pleasantly surprised. It's no fluke that MLP:FIM has been successful; it's well written, well animated, and has humor can resonate with more than just six-year-old girls.
Johnny- What the fuck?! *see shipping charts, Sonic and Rainbow Dash* Johnny- FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- Elliot- Whats with all the screaming?!? *sees shipping charts* Elliot- UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!
i once joined a brony server on TF2 with the random join thing and ended up having a discussion with a brony about the latest edition of the total drama series
6:11 Well actually it was accidental, but then the writers found out it became a really popular thing which is why they brought her back. Like Doctor Whooves.
I think almost EVERYONE first watched this show out of curiosity, I did, and I ended up enjoying it. I think it's worth a shot, early on, It may or may not be a bit juvenile and cutesy at certain points for some people, but that just comes with being (primarily) a little girl's show, although, In the words of BigAl, it seems as though lauren faust pretty much went out of her way to break the stereotypical pony mold just so everyone can enjoy it.
you should give the show a chance, we here at ThePrinnyGamers are over 20 years old and we all watch this show sometimes because it gets batshit crazy XD
As a full on brony, please watch it. Everything does deserve a chance and this just might give you another awesome fandom. To be honest it would make my day- fuck that, my year if you got into the show.
i was introduced to this show by a friend, and i find that the writing gets better as the show goes on so the first two parter may not be the best starting place (though its important plot wise). to me the only glaring kid friendly quality of it is that there's a lesson at the end of every episode. a "sonic says" if you will. other than that the writing is enjoyable regardless of gender so its a good show like any other that happens to be kid friendly . the fan base is insane though so beware.
I would recommend giving the show a try. If you do, though, I advise you to try "Lesson Zero." Even if you decide you hate the show in general, I guarantee that episode will leave you in stitches. It is literally that funny.
It bothers me how people will go into the series and just watch the first two-parter, because it really doesn’t speak much about the show. Not many bronies would disagree if I said that it’s the weakest of the two-parters, right? I’d instead recommend choosing a couple episodes from the first season that interest you. I’d say the show is easily binge-watchable, especially in the first season or two, because there’s not really large, over-arching narratives that are furthered in each and every episode, though Season 4 has about three season-length arcs so I’d make an exception there. And although I want to compare _Friendship is Magic_ with _Steven Universe_, the latter is a lot more story-driven and down to earth with more subtle humor, though they have similar complexities in that they are more than they appear to be at first glance-though I blame Cartoon Network’s poor advertising strategies in SU’s case. The only reason I think FiM is looked down upon is just because of its vibe and characters, despite the fact that it can portray true emotions and conflicts, along with using the unique setting to construct stories that wouldn’t fit well in other shows. That being said, my favorite episode is probably “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?” which is a hilariously dumb name, but I feel the episode really encompasses a lot of what the show offers. It connects to established events dating back to Season 2’s premiere (and references episodes from even further back), has a great plot involving regret and self-forgiveness, and being a dream-based episode, we get to see a lot of creative imagery that many people probably wouldn’t expect out of the show. I also find it humorous and relate-able, though those depend on the person so I’ll leave them up to you.
One thing, though: be wary of the fans. Some of them, if not most of them, can be little crazy. Not that all bronies are bad people, it just that some will go to great lengths to defend the show if it is bad-mouthed.
@Kyon what's your favorite pony of the main 6 mines is Twilight Sparkle because I feel that she "underloved" not mention she says most of the things I think when stuff happens.
You guys really don't know what you're missing. I remember seeing a video of this guy watching the first 2-parter, his reaction was "I don't get it." A few weeks later, he came back saying he had watched more episodes and he actually liked it. It's kinda like minecraft; people are completely turned off when they first see it, but after getting into it more, they realize they love it.
Full on brony here - Put it this way, if you're willing to put time aside to watch the show and appriciate it, you'll love it, but if you've got friends who are also bronies who you can watch the show with over skype, I guarantee you will have no regrets.
Yeah, i'd advise looking into it. For kids shows standards it's outstanding. The only character that's overly "girly" is supposed to be that way, she owns a beauty parlor and Tailor shop after all. So yeah, overall it's worth giving a look.
I personally enjoy the show not because of the show. I enjoy the things people make out of it. The dubstep songs, the abridged series, cupcakes, and the other jokes. The community is very entertaining. The show itself is not something I enjoy.
@TheIchthus5 Guy on the right is Johnny because he's a Metroid nerd. Guy with the Mega Man screen is Ryan, and the one on the left with the Castlevania weapons is Ted.
22, and I've seen every episode multiple times and keep track of the fandom using the blog Equestria Daily. As for copyright, it isn't a huge deal. The copyright claims aren't made by Hasbro, but youtube trolls who try to remove the show from youtube. The company itself has stated that they don't really care about MLP being on youtube.
Female watchers are actually called pegasisters.

"We are not bronies..."
Oh, how things change...
CanterlotCrusader what do you mean?
John David Tibbetts
Well, at the very least Johnny has a poster of Rainbow Dash in hi room and they have referenced the show multiple times since then.
They might not be super fans, but I think they have a general interest if they keep bringing it up.
CanterlotCrusader Hahaha.. Good times, Good times.
CanterlotCrusader I saw that poster in his Mega Man 4 and 5 review.
*face palm* it's everywhere now it's in my BSC!
Did you just say your BSC as if you own it? Even though this is something provided for everyone for free? They can do what they'd any and you have no control over it.
Alright point proven I suppose
And thus the conversation about small horses turns to a ramble on the age of different game-related things.
It's funny looking back on this after over 2 years. I wonder what they all think about the show now since this recording.
Johnny is a brony.
I know that, but how far has he gone with the show? And I think Ryan said he liked the first few episodes enough. Has he watched any more of it? And what about Ted and Lewis?
I still can't stop laughing at the fact that Johnny sings the trololo song so damn well! XD
Lauren Faust, who adapted My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, is married to Craig McCracken!!!
at 7:28 yes, just give it a shot, if you like it great, if you don't fine. Watch "Winter Wrap Up" first, I personally think it's the best episode.
Just saw published date, this comment is soo late sorry :-S.
2 RANDOM RAMBLES?
HELL YEAH!
The best thing about my little pony is that it's been given heart. It's not just thrown out it's been given care, it has effort, and it's good. I see things as an artist. And Friendship is Magic is art
Ah, going through the ol' archives of Brainscratch. What wonders await in these early-
...
Well then, huh.
I like it because its was made by someone whos good at this kind of stuff
wow, the irony. Sonic's about to be old enough to hit the bars, but he's working out all his problems right before he's allowed to drown them.
I feel like if Johnny tries to watch it, Elliot will be interested and start watching
I watch the show, and I reccomend you either watch a random episode or the first 2 episodes of season 2. Chocolate rain, guys. Chocolate rain.
Only if you want to, of course.
Hey man, dem ponys more manly than the last few ninja turtals.
Johnny watched it, then got hooked. Then the rest is history
I watched this video around the time I became a brony, but damn you're right Johnny's singing is incredibly fun in this video.
Honestly, the show is worth it. My friend presented this to me, and first I objected, then I opened up and realised how beautiful it is. This is better than any modern American show I have seen in a while.
Derpy Hooves actually spoke for the first time in the new episode today, and everyone had a massive fangasm :D
Johnny...you are shockingly accurate with the trololo song! Seriously, you imitate the song so well! I applaud you! ^-^
Why do you not have Kirby posters! That is the very definition of manliness!
And suddenly being rick rolled makes sense...
I think Lauren Fast intentionally made this pony show addicting so grown adults would love it as well.
I'm 19. I watch the show regularly and I think it's a hell of a lot better than any other cartoon they're showing nowadays.
This video needs a followup after Johnny watches the show.
Derpy Hooves shows up in every episode in the background with her eyes being either 'derped' or normal. that's the joke, her eyes go from crossed to normal every so often.
I like how you said "Were going to be channeling our inner APPLEJACK" in your Sonic '06 playthrough :)
There is no escape . You WILL join the herd!
At least it's better than those God-Awful Barbie movies they poop out every month or so.
Johnnie, watch the show but only at night...and make sure no one is awake when you're watching it. Your family might wonder if they found out what you were planning on watching.
give the show a chance. i recently JUST subscribed to you guys. you guys have some of the best group comms on youtube
they let the show be on the internet because they appreciated the publicity.
Be warned: you WILL get diabetes if you are exposed to too much Fluttershy.
Curiosity killed me enough to watch it. The rest is history.
I half expected one of you to start singing "Dovahkiin! Dovahkiin! Naal ok zin los vahriin! Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal!"
Good point.
7:26
YES. YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES.
Give the show a shot. I (as a 20+ year old male) was skeptical at first, but found myself very pleasantly surprised. It's no fluke that MLP:FIM has been successful; it's well written, well animated, and has humor can resonate with more than just six-year-old girls.
I'd give the show a chance, the show has improved a lot since it started.
Man of a Thousand Voices.
that scot's a bloody spy!!
From an animators standpoint? Niiiiiiiiice excuse. :3
I only ever watched 1 episode and i quite enjoyed it, give it a go.
Johnny's playthrough of sonic 06
Being meguca is suffering...

Around 11 minutes in, I completely forgot which video I was watching haha
'kay, I'll go get my mini gun...
"Look at all the fucks I give, they're just FALLING from the sky!"- My thoughts on this show.
Brainscratchcomms be warned these ponies are like cocaine, you try it once, you'll be hooked for life.
GO JOHNNY!
The herd is calling........
I think Ryan meant the NeverhoOd.
Join the Herd! JOIN THE HERD!
best intro to this ever... xD
Play Fighting is Magic once it comes out! Yes, a fighting game of high quality based around ponies exist!
Dissecting game graphics and sound effects ever since I started skinning and sound modding, i know that feeling
i once joined a brony server on TF2 with the random join thing and ended up having a discussion with a brony about the latest edition of the total drama series
The ramble picture looks like Ted is getting stabbed with the daggar
8:26 Nice Spongebob reference Ryan and Ted!
11:48 - 13:14 LOL! XD
15:39 to 16:25 LOL! Nice singing guys!
Hey, can someone tell me which of the caricatures on this video's screen is which BSC guy?
My Little Pony with Guile's theme it's an awesome combination XD. Cue the Sonic Rainboom meme.
I FUCKING KNEW IT! Further proof as to why this channel is so great.
they're making a comic series out of it
10:45 - I've started doing this too with EVERYTHING now that I've discovered TVtropes.
the show is quite good in my opinion, but its a "love it or hate it" thing. but the community is awesome! ^^
6:11 Well actually it was accidental, but then the writers found out it became a really popular thing which is why they brought her back. Like Doctor Whooves.
Mephiles: The answer is yes and no
Kitten Derpy Power
Johnny is best troll!
Zelda and Metroid are both 25 now!
I think almost EVERYONE first watched this show out of curiosity, I did, and I ended up enjoying it.

I wish the video picture was that fanart of Boba Fett riding Rainbow Dash while the rainbow background explodes from Dorkly...
I was born there days after sonic 1 was released so sonic turning 20 made me feel old as well
As a full on brony, please watch it. Everything does deserve a chance and this just might give you another awesome fandom. To be honest it would make my day- fuck that, my year if you got into the show.
Just feedback for you guys, the new logo isn't as good. REVERT NAOW.
Yeah the old one is better though.

super meatboy for the drunken lets play !!!!
They so is pretty cool, in fact I'd call it one of the better cartoons on TV right now
Yeah, i'd advise looking into it. For kids shows standards it's outstanding. The only character that's overly "girly" is supposed to be that way, she owns a beauty parlor and Tailor shop after all. So yeah, overall it's worth giving a look.

Yes, watch the show! Its the best cartoon I've seen in years!
How'd I not find this sooner? I guess that Random Ramble: TV Shows has been postponed for the next 16 minutes. This should be good.
HOLY SHIT, I did not expect you guys to start talking about this.
@TheIchthus5 Guy on the right is Johnny because he's a Metroid nerd. Guy with the Mega Man screen is Ryan, and the one on the left with the Castlevania weapons is Ted.
2:00 Johnny, you've seen special stage 6 in Sonic CD.
22, and I've seen every episode multiple times and keep track of the fandom using the blog Equestria Daily.
