The HARDEST Enemy in a Fromsoft Game: FRAMETIMES
no, its the shitty camera.
I run the game 3440*1440p because that's my monitor, and scaling is off with 2560 or whatever, anyone notice Ultra wide sometimes works on start up, ya think they finally did it and quick black screen to not ultra wide? lol. 🤦🏻♂️I have a 4080 FE, 5800X3D, 3600Mhz RAM, X570 ASRock steel legend wifi... The game is on n NVME in the gen 4x4 slot... Seems like every few months I gotta delete shader cache, play while giving it some time to regroup... And then the stutter is gone... For several months again. Set Shader cache size to unlimited, make sure hardware acceleration is enabled for the game, if clearing cache and that doesn't work then disable Microsoft Root Enumerator in Device Manager.
Eldenring FPS unlock works really well.

Glad someone made a video on this. This should have been addressed long ago but thanks to fromsoft and miyazaki meat riders, they haven't fixed this dogsh1t optimisation. My game went from 60 to 10 fps while fighting the giant fire golems
I love fromsoftware. But this is beyond unacceptable. If i am spending money on a product, i am expecting perfection. especially after how successful the game was.
I was considering playing the DLC as i sank hours in the game. But not having the slightest performance enhancements and i heard that there is a bossfight that drops 0.1% lows to single digits. Not a good sign to be fair.
Can you name some feature complete AAA games that came out in recent years that are perfection? I'd like to know.
They focused more on nerfing than fixing actual bugs 🤣 guaranteed to piss off players if they are not pissed enough with how difficult the game is and all the nerfs up to now, more to come.
@@vert3823 i can’t. because the other triple A games have been dogshit. I highly regarded fromsoftware and bought almost all of their game collection and loved their games to death. i just expected more from my favorite studio.

Dude, i was able to run wukong on my 2060, but can't run elden ring in 60 fps. A game with 2d tree leaves and grass rendering like 5 meters in front of you. Wtf is wrong with this game??
95% of the time I’m at a solid 60fps. Whenever there’s a stutter it’s always because cpu cores 2&6 are being hammered to 100% while the remaining cores are under-utilized.

@@jamesg7456 They have done small fixes, but it still can't get consistent 60 fps on PS5, even in the base game. That's the reason why people who play mostly pvp install the PS4 version of the game on PS5, to squeeze as much performance as possible. Even then, some areas and particle effects make it go under 60. It's surprising that many PS5 players don't even realize the performance is bad.
These issues have rendered the game nigh unplayable for me, the game will run at consistent high frames and out of nowhwre the game will drop to 15-20 fps and never goes back up until i restart the game
They will never fix it cause ppl just spout the words "masterpiece" and buy it day one, so why would they change anything. Shame really

I have no issues on my main rig since it's a beefy i9 cpu & 4090 all watercooled so running that thing all maxed out and it runs cherry, but on my 4070 laptop with an ultra core 7 intel cpu 32gbs of ram and even without maxing the settings in 1440p I get constant frame drops/stutters which sucks especially in the middle of a boss fight. Really hoping they put out some sort of optimization improvements in the months to come.
you checked ur temp? it maybe that or fromsoft just hates laptops xd. I had a rtx 2060 laptop and game run like shit because of cpu temps
That’s weird I have a 4050 laptop and I’m running 60fps with no dips whatsoever and I’m running the max settings on top of that my resolution is 2560x1600 but the game is eating up 17gb out of my 64gb ram that I have temps are pretty low averaging around 50-62C Gpu only using 70watts and my gpu isn’t over clocked at all with that being said it’s crazy how everyone else is having major problems with fps
@@samogonbrotherMy MSI can become a literal helicopter, 45-60° (celsius) and still stutters. Even after disabling every e-core, setting my GPU to max performance and nearly everything else possible (With a 4060 rtx chip and an i5 12000k series that runs RDR2 at a steady 60.)
Tho my GPU isnt that beefy, only 6gigs of Vram and from what i remember its underclocked for temp reasons.. shouldve went with a 3080
Since the DLC, Elden Ring is no longer playable for me, I have lags and my game freezes for 1-2 seconds. I have a 4080 RTX and an i9 9900k,32 GB Ram. I could always play Elden Ring on Ultra + ray tracing, since the DLC it doesn't even run properly on Low setting.
Gaming on Linux is great. I had frame drops on Bud and Prime Radahn when they use their butterfly/pillars of light effects. everything else run smooth.

and yeah it's wierd Armored Core 6 on the same engine and it runs perfectly smooth at 120fps while looking better to me. Maybe elden shouldn't have been open world lol
My Xbox genuinely can't run the radahn fight, any time one of his clone attacks happens my frames drop so drastically that I can't dodge it. I can understand some performance issues on launch, but this is just completely unacceptable.
Thats because his clone attacks have awful animation. The animation itself has lower frame rates and not optimized. Cuz they can get away with anything as they have brain ded fan boys

I bought the game not even a month ago, I was really enjoying it, until the game turned into a slideshow after 90-100 hours of smooth gameplay, I saw people with PCs infinitely more powerful than mine with the same problem, no less than a micro fps Just like in the video, it's literally unplayable, as it's my first time playing I don't have online active so I disabled anticheat to see if performance improved, I've already sent 5 emails to support and nothing they recommended I do helped, apparently the The best thing to do is wait for a patch ( I spent over a week testing things to fix the game, but without success unfortunately )
i use an rx 6800s as gpu and cpu ryzen 6900hs, i get 60 fps at most on the dlc, but on grass and realistic places are so laggy oml
The final boss is so laggy on my ps4 pro i cant dodge correctly because my character simply does not react quick enough to my button presses
Windows 11 is shit for gaming because I'm getting high average fps but 1% low fps and .1% low fps dips and stuttering are so bad I have a pretty good pc specs 13700kf , rtx 4080 , wdblack sn850x 2tb ssd, ddr5 7600mhz 2x16 , 1000W psu , gigabyte z790 aorus master x motherboard and bought a 7800x3d .
Yeah I'm on a 4090. My PC is very high end. Paid a good bit over $4,000 and every game works flawlessly except for elden ring, which I experience minimal stutters but modded overhaul of elden ring like reforged is not as enjoyable, with high graphics and even turning settings down which isn't worth it because it still sometimes stutters
@@MrDerekRobinson go back to w10/7. it didn't helpd me with sttutering on ER, but it helped with low pref on other games.
3080 ryzen 9 and 16g of ram and the game has become actually unplayable. Out in the world its not that bad but every single boss battle stutters at the exact time I or the boss attacks.. I have followed all the videos and forum posts with supposed fixes and nothing has changed.

The thing is, elden ring used to run properly for me and I have the fps unlock mod too. It now has frametime spikes. Even weird, in the first area of the dlc, when I look at the tree, normally I have 90-100fps (4090 and 5800x3d, 1440p Max Settings and Max Raytracing). When I die and look again, my fps is at 45fps and my gpu utilization is somehow 100%. It's either the game have issues, nvidia drivers having issues, or both. This shit needs to be fixed because I don't know what to do. Also, I feel that the raytracing implementation isn't that heavy and at 1440p with my PC specs, I should honestly be getting 144fps+ consistently. I mean, I get 90-100fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with max settings and path tracing at 4k (with dlss performance and frame generation), so the lesser raytracing of elden ring shouldn't have nearly as low of performance as it does, and even without ray tracing, I should be able to run 240fps consistently with my rig considering I can run 1440p 240fps with the Sekiro FPS unlock mod at max settings.
Turn the shader cache up to unlimited if you can. It can sometime be that its loading textures but fromsoft is incompetent. Thats all. Wait for a patch. They literally don't support fsr or dlss too and their games are terribly optimized. Especially the dlc
I don't play it because the fps unlock mod doesn't work with hdr. Hell is gonna freeze before I play 60fps in 2024. And I didn't buy an oled hdr tv 120hz to sacrifice one or the other.
Just use BFI on your oled tv. Makes 60fps looks like 120. You can also use LSFG to 120fps. You can use BFI at 120fps framegen for 300FPS-like motion clarity if you have the LG C1 like me. It's great.
@@astreakaito5625 it's funny you write this. Because I use both bfi, c1, and lsfg. But framegen is limited to games you can't unlock fps, like sf6, and bfi is more for faster paced games or where there's lots of scrolling like diablo 4. For elden ring I want to get the hdr 120 native experience though
Does the LSFG work with HDR in this game? HDR only works in full screen mode.

The bosses are tuned to using spirit ashes, that’s why they have so much AoE and are tanky. Playing with spirit ashes is the intended way to play.
Don't know nowadays with a Nvidia GPU but Leyndell with a 7900XTX is nearly unplayable, I don't wanna know the DLC....

0:05 Shadow of The Erdtree alone is larger than the entirety of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It really shouldn't be called anything but an expansion imo. Technically an Expansion is a DLC and vice versa but calling it a DLC almost feels wrong when a DLC could also be just a weapon skin.
The size of the map doesn't mean content. Also the "open world" is mostly populated by the same enemies or reskins from the base game.
The open world has 3 ghost flame dragons. The finger ruins have fuking nothing. The area before shaman village has fuking nothing. The abysal woods have fuking nothing. The area before bayle fight has fuking nothing but a reskin of lanseax. Just like miyasaki said its about the size of limgrave when you cut unwanted useless stuff. I'm tired of seeing people suck on those miyasaki twin moons.

For me the big issue is lack of 32:9 support, particularly as it is rendering the content, then covering it with black bars.
Sure it’s an easy fix with flawless ultrawide but then you can’t play online.
Having to mod the shit out of it to get more then 60hz and ultrawidescreen is the dealbreaker for me since 2 years -.-.

Bought Elden Ring base game in the past and fully regretted it. I wish I could get a refund or sell it at cost. One of the most frustrating games. Not only that, they added more frustration by nerfing. I consider AC Odyssey as the greatest game of all time. They never nerf and actually did the opposite and as a result, it’s still a game being played and streamed by a lot of players, myself included. I think I will forever play AC Odyssey. It’s just the most perfect game for me, so perfect that no game past or present in my opinion can beat it.

Why wouldn't somebody deduct points due to low performance? Just because your standards for performance is low, doesn't mean that's the same for everyone else. I wish more reviewers would deduct points for terrible performance.
