    The sharpness of his forehand with that raquet is amazing. That day his entire game was spot on. But you can clearly see that the pace he generates with his forehand was really tough to handle every match. That forehand maybe was even better than the 2004-07.

    • @RazOls
      @RazOls  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I miss that old racquet... especially for the forehand and slice.

      If you are talking about raw power ,2005~2006 Roger is tough to beat ,it was his best physical form I believe.
      At that time he can just crushes a forehand winner out of nowhere,after 2007 he aimed more for placement,spin,angle ,and also improved his Bh ,which made him a more complete player.
      I agree tho ,during 2011~2012 he played the most elegant tennis ever ,just like an artist where he got every shots in the book and the experiences are tenth full.However at that time his body is declining,which means he can still beat other players easily,but against prime Rafa and Novak where their games were purely physical baseline rallies at best ,it’s tough to compete .

    • @kevinweickert3887
      @kevinweickert3887 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree with you guys. He was a little heavier around 2005/ 06 wasn‘t he? So the Power he could generate had to be more.
      And then as mentioned he swapped that raw power to placement, Spin and so on.
      Thanks for the Video btw. It reminds me how much I miss fed on Court. I hope his body will give him 1,5 good final seasons so he can retire happy and on his terms.

    • @Leo-nc3yx

      @@kevinweickert3887 I hope he can still win at least one Wimbledon,despite the odds .
      It’s hard to imagine how Rafa can still took AO this year with his play style,however he got a lots of injures lately.
      Djokovic is still looking as sharp as ever ,especially the way he took Rome last week.
      The only current new blood who can challenge him is Alcaraz,the rest of them are jokes in comparison.
      Still can’t believe how Medvedev choke a 2:0 lead ,and how Tsitsipas was destroyed horribly by Djokovic.
      They are supposed to be the leading players on hard and clay ,being in their prime and 10+ years younger lol !

    Feds game is just so different from all the rest. Even the other two Goats can’t match his sublime skills. Nadal is unique with his ridiculous topspin and being a lefty he has a natural advantage against Feds and Djokovic who are both right handed and even more so against Feds whose single handed backhand is at a natural disadvantage in receiving such high balls from Nadal’s forehand. Djokovic is the best returner and mover out of the three and he just gets everything back until you miss. However, Feds is 6 years older so we shouldn’t compare him to the other two really as he’s from the previous generation. Nevertheless, Feds is at a disadvantage to the other two because of his single backhand which requires a higher degree of skill that using two hands. Will be a sad day when he finally does retire though. On the bright side I’ll be coming back to watch your Fed vids Raz. ❤

      I agree and that's why I think he is the best for me.. although he will be long passed in slams..he kept two younger guys at bay until his age became a huge difference maker.. and it always was to be honest... Again..he should have beaten Novak at Wimbledon 2019.cries

    Wow, his 2012-2013 forehand with that raquet. When it's on, it's just ridiculous. The 2012-2013 era may be the most elegant style he has ever played. His game at that time looked so smooth!

    • @RazOls
      @RazOls  2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      I agree! I put 2012 above because I feel he med slightly better even before his injury in 2012. His 2009 game was very elegant too.

      @@RazOls Two turning points of his career ,mono in 2008,and the back injury in 2013.
      The Mono really kill his prime ,or at least cut short,I feel like he could still win 3 slams a year if he wasn’t sick.
      Especially after 2007 which is arguably his best prime ever,also we saw how he came back in 2009 .
      I know the back pain is always there ,but after 2010 it just got worse at times ,and 2013 was his worst year because of that.
      I don’t take the knee injury in 2016 as a turning point since he was getting older and older ,it’s doomed to happen if he keep playing competitive tennis like that .I am glad he managed to get three slams after 2017 ,although it didn’t last as long .

    I've said it before and I'll say it again, Roger Federer is one of the most non aggression professional tennis players I have ever witnessed. When he was younger he was, he declares it how his anger would get the best of him; but, as he aged, he refined his game and his character. In professional world tennis, that is very commendable.

  • @sgketan

    Without doubt, Federer is the most talented, beautiful, vesatile player ever to play tennis. Variety of shots he plays, is far more than combined of Nadal or Novak. His volley , stop volley, backend, forehand and dropshots are very pleasing to watch. To play for 20 over yrs with very high consistency is simply amazing. And above all, he is very humble, down to earth always easy going with his fans and media. We hardly read or hear ppl say bad things abt him. It is astonoshing to know that he has never retired half way in 1500 plus matches he has played. This shows how much he loves Tennis.. No other player has this effect on public past 50 yrs plus. No wonder he gets so much love, respect and attention from Reporters, players and public.. Even if Novak wins 25 Slams, he can never match talent, skill, charishma, elegance and popularity of Federer. Novak may go down as Goat but Federer is Lion ( king who rules)..👌🏻👌🏻.......

Sharp reflexes and unparalleled anticipation. Ruthless beat down. Gorgeous drop shots. Half volleys from the baseline. Unbelievable records (now being surpassed by Djokovic and Nadal due to a much weaker next generation).

    If Federer had the mental toughness of Djokovic and Nadal and didn’t choke as often as he has he’d have won 24-25 Grand Slams. In my opinion he’s the best player by far and has a lot more natural ability and skill and creativity and variety. But he’s weaker mentally and despite his huge success and incredible achievements, I can’t help feeling he’s lost too many he had pretty well won and got in the bag and yet he somehow crumbled and melted. Tsonga at Wimbledon and Del Potro at the US Open and Djokovic at the US Open and Wimbledon were all glaring examples of how he lost from an imperious winning position. And these losses are when the crowd are behind him… which makes Djokovic’s success all the more impressive as normally the crowd are hostile and against him.

    • @jenni431
      @jenni431 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      More than mental toughness, I think he's always to close it out on his terms rather than just keep the ball in play. His impatience in not letting the opponent make a mistake is what cost him these games. If you looked at his play against Rafa at Wimby in 2019, who was in superb form coming into that match, he never truly was the offensive force he once was. He almost always looked at counter punching!!! Something that's alien to the Federer we knew. He chose his moments to pull the trigger. And it almost won him against Novak too. Almost.
