Indian Wells 2017 is one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen from Federer, particularly against Nadal. The neo backhand and the confidence he had coming off the AO final made him pretty much unstoppable that day. Amazing that Stan the Man was the only guy who even managed to break his serve in the entire two weeks!

Much like Mark Selby in the snooker world who will play the same drawn out defensive game to grind opponents down. In order to beat Rafa and Djokovic, Roger needs to
    1) Play lots of inside in to Rafa’s backhand and Novak’s forehand( especially against Djokovic, which strokes haven’t half of Rog’s heaviness)
    2) Be solid and confident on the backhand side. When he can run around he must do it, but he has to show that is backhand is there and isn’t going to hold him back: when he shows you that if you try to hit to his backhand you get an aggressive inside in/out forehand, a solid top spin backhand or a knifing slice, even Nadal and Djokovic start to put pressure on themselves and risk more( which means more errors).

Currently Djokovic is more of an issue for Federer, than Nadal is, which he managed to figure out (on Clay Nadal is god against both, even though Djokovic won some matches, but recently he beats djokovic on clay as well). Vs Nadal, Federer's backhand was the main issue, (Slicing and left hand, slicing fits Nadal's top spin) vs Djokovic, it is more about mental strength, however he is older than Djokovic. Federer and Djokovic had an even head to head, and basically Federer's game suits better against Djokovic than Nadal's, however since he is older he is unfortunately less able to execute it. Many of those grand slam matches vs djokovic were about 1-2 points. For Djokovic, Nadal's game is a perfect matchup, basically he is the anti-Nadal, just as Anti-Federer Nadal is.
