Thanks for this. Duck Hunt is my secondary and almost considered dropping them cause I couldn't get anything done with them like in Sm4sh. But this showed almost everything they can do Sm4sh is almost Identical in Ultimate. I just need to get used to them with this games engine
Actually with the can changes the way he controls neutral is pretty different. Old roving setups and spacings don't work the same way. Can launches further which is significant and our fair no longer has the same range that it used to. CP got buffed very significantly as we can act faster and the only way to counter it is to jump. @@Dawangthang Huh? I guess I just need more lab work cause I was so sure they played the same from 4. I never really noticed a lot of the differences they have. Gonna have to give'em a try now
@@theurbanranger9193 Yeah. Like one of the main things gone is full hop can fair being a reliable auto setup to do. Also having the can Kb being determined by what side they get hit on changes our entire combo tree. With the can launch distance being different too, how we set up our ledge traps is really different. You also need to get used to using f tilt instead of up tilt to score kills at the ledge.

Hello! I just discovered this channel, and while it's great I just have a quick suggestion that I've noticed in a few of your videos. I'm not sure if it's just my speakers or what, but it seems to me that your speaking is slightly too quiet, and the game and intro audio is slightly too loud. Overall either problem is insignificant, however it means I sometimes can't hear you over the game, and when I adjust my volume to your voice, the sounds and intro/outro music are very loud. I think myself, people with limited privacy, and people with headphones might appreciate a slightly tweaked balance a bit more.
One of the issues I ran into when editing this video was that the gameplay and audio were recorded on the same track due to live recordings through obs. Basically I didn't realize the game audio was coming in too loudly throughout it until I played it back when it was finished. Couldn't separate the audio channels to lower them. This has been a problem a couple of people have been telling me over the discord so I'll be sure that the next one doesn't run into the same issue.
The secret to duck hunt is MINIMAL use of the can. Too many people just constantly try to get fancy can sets up, all while getting blown up by the opponent. The best way to play duck hunt is a mix of Rush down/tech chase and zoning. Going back and forth between the two. Work on your tech chases and not fancy can set ups.
I main as Megaman, but I’m trying to get just as good with Duck Hunt. Opponents commonly just don’t know what the do with the character, given you an advantage.

Yeah he's pretty different from S4 due to can changes and our fair range. Good thing is that gunman works the same and CP got buffed pretty significantly from before. Things you mainly need to adjust to: New fall speed, new can, new fair, new ledge traps. Other than that you'll mostly be playing very similarly.
Most likely, you need to be more patient with your detonation than you think. Remember, the later you trigger it, the more time you have to get a true follow up
Make sure you delay the shots of the CP like I mentioned. This allows you to have more time to get the punish. Also, just practice your dash timing out of CP
@@Dawangthang I never commenting on it, but I later found the tricks of doing a kinda quarter circle (like hadouken) to assure a soft toss from a neutral position. Works pretty well, worst case does a gunman if you really mess up.
Hard toss is when you smash the stick to throw the clay pigeon and soft toss is when you tilt the stick. You'll notice hard toss is faster and has a lower profile and soft is slower and has a higher profile.

And you can actually use smash attacks now and they normally won't just fall out lol
I can't get the two CPs to true combo into each other... hard to get the timing for detonation right

Silly question but, how do you use the soft toss side b from a neutral standing position?
You soft toss it by tilting your stick forward. Think of it like inputting a tilt vs a smash attack.
