Is the Royal Kludge Rk68 Still any good in 2022? - Overview plus mods

- What's up everyone? Hope you enjoyed the video, I think the mods I did to this keyboard make it sound and look amazing! I still think for $50 there aren't as many prebuilt keyboards that are as decent as this one in 2022. That said, is it worth your time to mod to look and sound good like I did? nice sounding keyboard
Make sure to get RK G68 and not the RK68 Model, since RK68 only supports wired and poopy Bluetooth mode which is terrible for both typing and gaming. RK G68 on other hand has bigger battery and supports 2.4Ghz Wifi Dongle connection along side with BT and Wire. 2.4Ghz is best wireless connection with no latency in my use.

Can u gummy o ring mount the rkg68? The inside is different compared to the rk68, i have the g version and it seems like i wont be able to gummy mount it. Pls let me know cuz i wanna di this.

The red one sounds very good, especially with the tape mode and a little bit of felt in the case Mine came with case and plate film already sounded a lot better stock

some gmk clones (in my experience) have no cherry interference for some reason, i think they're slightly barely taller than cherry but still cherry

I just got this in the mail today. I tried connect via blue tooth and via wire connection and it won’t connect. With a wired connection it shows on my Bluetooth devices on pc, but still won’t type. Any ideas?

Hey thanks for watching! So the way to choose the best mount is deciding if you like a stiffer typing experience (tray mount) or a bouncier and more flexible typing experience (gasket mod).
tray mount=inconsistent sound, hard feeling
gasket mount=clean, isolated sound, bouncy feeling

the rk68 pro is a better deal, it is all aluminum so its rock solid and heavy and it comes with pbt keycaps and gateron switches all for 75 bucks on amazon
Wrong. While aluminum is cool, for budget boards like these that need O-Ring mounting mods to make them sound any decent, you can't really modify the usb cut out or remove the stand offs on an aluminum case to compensate for the extra play from the gummy o ring.
Aluminum cases are good when the keyboard is already designed to reduce pinging which is more typical in higher end boards. Just slapping an aluminum case on a top mounted board like the RK68 pro will just mean there isn't a whole lot you can do to reduce pinging with dampening mods.
wrong the rk68 pro has a daughter board so the usb port wont be affected. the worst that will happen it youll keycaps will sit a little higher. People have done this to the tofu so they can definitely to it to this board.
also the rk is tray mount not top mount
