    *FAQ*
    *Where can I get the parts?*
    Click on the description, I have a handful of affiliate shops you can shop at!
    *I thought the RK61 wasn't hotswap? / Why is your cable different than mine?*
    You are thinking of or own the older model, you can find the correct one linked in my description.
    *You forgot to clip the stabs*
    Yeah, I did that after the video - I forgot to record it, my bad!
    *Does the RK61 use a 7u or 6.25u spacebar?*
    It uses a 6.25u, most keyboards will.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. FWIW, I think Royal Kludge has been progressively upping their game. Just got a cheap board from them that had foam inserts filling the stabilizer cutouts and upgraded stabilizers. I'm reluctant to touch them due to initial quality and not wanting to cut or remove the foam filler. TBH, I feel like the quality of the stock keycaps on the most recent keeb were superior to even the custom keys used in the mod for this video. It's really all about what you like and want to see, just saying the quality of the current boards is another step up. Main reason for making the comment is to also say - even if the stock keycaps were not superior, I'd still be reluctant to replace them. Why? Because the media legends on the keycaps are not without their own value. I wish it was easier to find keycaps that include the special legends that are typically found on stock keycaps. I've got a similar issue with some Keychron and other keyboards that provide keysets with media legends and multi-function keypress functionality. Sure, I could memorize it or print out a reference card - but having it on the keys is so much more practical. Some places will let you do custom keysets with legends, but again... the theme of my post... the quality tends to take a step down in my opinion. Nirvana would be a doubleshot PBT SA profile custom keyset developer with the quality of the MT3 sets or better. Everybody shout at me if you learn of that happening. ;)

    Great video! My suggestion for the “b-roll shots” you can use a stabilizer in your editing program.. so that the shots don’t move as much and you could also slow it down and it gives you that really nice clean look! I use da Vinci resolve when I edit and it’s a lifesaver 😂 keep going my guy.. if you wanna work on something in the future I’m down!

      Yeah that'll work too, I just am not a huge fan of cherry stabs personally - I typically replace them with durock ones.

    Here's a tip, if you buy a keyboard and it comes in a box wrapped with foam packaging you can use that foam to dampen the sound of your keyboard :)

      @@aethancomia1389 The packaging is foam so you can put that in your keyboard if you are building it custom to dampen the echo from the keyboard.

    Hey bro! Really detailed and easy to understand content, however I have one question. When you get the keyboard does it come with tools that help you take out the switches?

    • @ItsHexical
      @ItsHexical  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it does! They are kinda trash though, you can pick up a switch and keycap puller off amazon for like $8 though! I use this which comes with everything you need.

      Not a dumb question at all!
      Typically, your switches will be fine - but you may notice your stabilizers need touchups every so often, but its not a lot honestly.
