Angela Kelly did a wonderful job dressing the Queen in her later years and making an old Lady look Regal and for lack of a better word Queenly.
There's not much of the culture of the Fifties that I'd bring back, but there's no denying, the formal dresses of that era were absolutely beautiful.
I would! I would bring back the work ethic we all had, the honesty and help our neighbors mentality. The Educational system we had, the accountability for our actions, the religious beliefs we all had, the pride in our flag and our country. The "can do" philosophy we had especially towards space travel. The manners of our children when in public as well as our own manners. Dressing up to go out and looking our best in public. Yes, there were things I didn't like about those times, but I choose to look on the positives of the era compared to now.

But the educational system, while it worked well for many, also kept girls out of advanced classes and often "tracked" black and immigrant students out of school altogether at an early age. I'm glad to have been born just one generation later; my mother was pushed into marriage because that's what one did shortly after high school; I actually got to consider what kind of life I truly wanted.
So yeah, there were virtues that we could do well to bring back today. But the prejudice of the times should remain there in the past.
Many years ago I was lucky enough to visit the tower of london, where her majesty coronation dress and robes were displayed. I was amazed at how tiny her waistband, and how small rhecdress seemed to make her. Never the less they were beautiful.
