I forgot the Flame Lily brooch was the one the Queen wore, descending the stairs as she arrived as Queen, after the King had just passed away. I’m glad you’re focusing on the lesser known brooches. There are so many to choose from. And I like the story about Queen Mary and the Canadian maple leaf brooch.
It was said that the Queen and the Obama's got on very well and when Michelle later visited London with her daughter's in a private capacity, the Queen invited them all to Buckingham Palace for afternoon tea, and arranged for the daughters to be driven around the gardens in a horse and carriage. The Moss Agate and diamond brooch the personal gift from the Obama's is also the one she wore when she greeted Donald Trump at Windsor Castle on his first official visit to the UK, the Queen was an expert of subtle deplomacy and the power of jewellery.
It is always very nice to see ladies wearing brooches on them, more to say necklaces of pearls too. Particularly and every time, the late monarch Queen Elizabeth ll looked so elegant with brooches and necklaces pearls on her ❤🎉 👍 👌
On the occasion of her Coronation and the first visit of a reigning monarch to Australia, we gave her a beautiful wattle brooch, our national flower, made of yellow Australian diamonds.
Canada is like the relative who always give great Christmas gifts. Always got excited when a presence showed under the tree from them. Canada given nice jewels and horse carriages throughout her reign.
Queen Elizabeth had a lot of beautiful jewelry and tiara's! I wish I had at least one of her jewelry, because they are just so beautiful and expensive!
Strangely you did not talk about the brooch she wore with the yellow dress, in the intro of the video. That brooch is a gift from my country Singapore.
I wonder if they had each piece photographed with it's history and she chooses what she'll wear from the catalog. The jewels would be expensive and kept in a safe.
I was kind of upset seeing Camilla wearing some of them but your right Meghan would have been much much worse to see wearing any of Her Majesty's jewelery.😡
@@ruthkletke Most of the late Queen's jewels are designated as Heirlooms of the Crown. This.means that they automatically pass to the next Monarch. I agree with your comment about Megan. Personally, I rejoice to see H.M. Queen Camilla wearing them.
Why do people always bring up Meghan? At least have the courtesy to spell her name correctly. She is still a part of the Royal family, even if not a working one.
@@stephanfourie6879 Not a particular fan, no. But I do believe in being courteous so far as spelling her name correctly. I do dislike Camilla, but I still spell her name the right way.
She had so many spectacular pieces of jewelry to wear. It is nice to see some of the less famous pieces. I don't think that too many Americans noticed that subtle snub of Trump, but I did. I was happy to see the present from the Obamas being worn. No, it was not as spectacular as many of the pieces in her jewelry box. But I think she appreciated having something unique. It is easy to pile a bunch of precious stones onto a brooch without any regard or thought of wearability. But all of these brooches were thoughtful and unique. When your jewelry collection contains significant pieces of the Cullenden diamond, it is difficult to top that collection! So the best choice is to go with unique. Does anyone have any idea about what Trump gave Her Majesty?
I think that Catherine, Princess of Wales would be a great successor ot HMTQs broach wearing, they would look lovely on her tailored coats and Jackets 🥰

@joejanczak3014 Not so great, actually. He stumbled over her, walked in front of her, and talked over her -- all major breaches of Royal protocol. One of Queen Elizabeth's greatest assets was her ability to be gracious, even under trying circumstances. She exercised that fully when the Orange Baffoon went to visit. You would almost never see her react negatively to anyone at State Dinners or at State Occasions. She had a good turn of phrase and a great sense of humor. Britain was very lucky to have her.
Since it mostly from Indian and Africa it’s Meghan’s Heritage from her Ancestors All Rubies Diamonds are mined in Africa ….for Centuries for the western world
QEII's broaches were lovely things she could continue to wear iwith dignity into her great old age. Large tiaras and huge necklaces, however, would be best left to adorn the necks and heads of younger ladies. Large necklaces, particularly ones with colored gems look quite garish displayed on the crepey chest of an old woman, and it's a pity convention requires it. I could hardly bear to look at Queen Camila wearing those sapphires
The only diamond with a shady history is the Koh-I-Noor. Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India all have a claim to it, so short of dividing it someone is going to be unhappy.
😊she was a great Queen, strong, resilient and making the right choices. I will remember her with love and respect and affection.

Why it's a crappy piece. It looks cheap like something you would get at a thrift shop
@@missf4681 and Her Late Majesty accepted it and wore it. So, what now?
@@missf4681 Sure, with diamonds. That's what you get at a thrift shop. Luckily Queen Elizabeth was more gracious than you.
No, she actually didn't wear it when she greeted Trump. She wore it the day before. She wore her mother's Palm Leaf with the Trumps.

My favourite of her brooches is the Rhodesian Flame Lily. It’s beautiful, and it was a present from children.

There's a downside to that.Considering all the jewelry she had, if you COULD pick ONE, it would be a serious challenge I think.
Most of the diamonds she wears are looted, sorry 😢

The black and white pictures does no justice to the jewelry 😩
