Another great test bro! I was really interested to see these in this gel through denim as well. Nice job as always.
Appreciate you stoppin in
Thank you for the disclaimer. still gave me a general idea of what to expect. excellent.
For that price, out of a 3 inch barrel, that's great balance of penetration and expansion even thru the denim,so I'd call it a winner
Afternoon man!!
👋 Howdy
in your .17 vs 22 wmr vid you mentioned your BB calibration differences of 3 vs 3.7" (3 is 81% of 3.7) which gave penetration of Federal Punch 12.5" vs 15" (12 is 83% of 15)...which makes me posit if a person can actually just use the difference from the center of the "accepted" FBI range (of 3.345") to get some sort of "adjusted" penetration distance when the BB goes different distances? So if you are at any number over the mid-range of 3.345" with your BB, then you can use that difference to apply to the penetration of the bullet shot. And even when gel is outside of the accepted range, like your 3.9" here, you can then use that being 117% of the 3.345 "middle of FBI" number to divide your 16" (t-shirt) & 19.5 (denim) to get 13.7" (t-shirt) & 16.7" (denim)...Obviously, though, the factor that sort of wrenches this, is how much it expands in the gel when the BB goes farther, vs shorter. I believe you said you think it will expand less in the 3.9 BB gel...I can see thinking that, but that alone would be some good tests to run. I can see it actually expanding MORE when the gel is more "water-like" or whatever we want to call it when the calibration BB goes farther. I'm torn. Do that test. haha.
Good vids! Dig the side-by-side with the Clear & the organic.
It is considered to be in spec anywhere between 2.95 to 3.75 inches. Anything in that range is considered to be 10% calibrated gel. Obviously comming somwhere in the middle is ideal, but that can be difficult to do each time when you melt it back down and use it several times like I do.
Effective offering in my book. I wouldn't pick this first but I wouldn't be afraid to carry it if I had it.
I feel the same
@@BuckeyeBallistics On sale at Palmetto for 7.99 a box.
Have these in 124? I see some for sale, says "Sierra Target" on the package as well.
Good video. Thanks
Did you ever have any luck securing 380 hydrashok deep for testing?
Not yet- I got a bunch of emails to send out still, been busy. I'd rather not pay for em if I don't have to...
@@BuckeyeBallistics I hear that brother. There is almost zero testing on that ammo right now, just one channel a couple years ago, that had the air of shilling.
You gonna be climbing aboard the 30 SC train?
Yes! Er, uh, for scientific purposes of course 😁 I'm waiting for Smith to release it in the Shield +. I've seen the EZ in .30sc but not the Shield yet...
@@BuckeyeBallistics Ian from forgotten weapons has a Shield +, 16+1 he did a video on it last week or the week before maybe. Not sure if they're on the commercial market yet.
Seems like it gives 380+P type ballistics, or maybe slightly hotter.
@@Valorius Yeah I'm not big enough yet for companies to send me the stuff before you can actually buy it, but I'm working on it- that's part of those emails I mentioned in the other comment. It takes a while to write all those emails when you have to be professionally mannered and say all the right things to promote yourself. Then also as I've learned, it gets hard to keep up and keep all the emails straight if you are talking to more than 2 or 3 companies at one time. Anyway, it's a work in progress...
They done pretty good, I would use them
they perform real good Out of that short barrel. I would use those Good Video.
At 7.99 for a box 20 on psa, it cannot be beat☝️
Does it work tho? I been seeing ppl have issue with it
I'll never purchase or use ammo inc 115 jhp again. The would compress the led into the brass due to poor seating when I feed them thru my czp10c. I don't have that issue with any other rnds I keep . Hornady, federal , or my range rnds magtech. Took them to my local gun dealer , on range we confirmed and he told me he's had alot if issues with ammo inc. I wouldn't rely on them for a defensive situation ever.
* Wouldn't * x2
@@BuckeyeBallistics ty corrected.
seems like a solid little round
Thanks for stopping in. Probably the best $13 box of 9mm I've tested lol.
It's a hard price to beat, that's for sure.
Local store had a special $10 a box! We stocked up😂
Same.....left there with the limit 😂
I paid 18.99, but no limit. Bought 500 for now, maybe they'll get a deeper discount as time goes on.
And yeah, looking like those blocks are giving "optimistic" results.
Yeah but not too bad I don't think. In some of my other 115gr 9mm tests (in good blocks), I was getting 15" penetration with .51-.52 expansions and 114-116gr retained weights. So as I said in this video, maybe 2" extra penetration? We got 19" penetration here with a similar retained weight of 114gr, but the expanded diameter was considerably less at only .47 which will obviously allow it to penetrate further than a .52 dia due to reduced drag. Then the other in this video comming in at .50 and 16" penetration with a lighter retained weight of 104, that's probably right at about 2" further than it should be if taking the info above into consideration. So it's just my opinion based on comparisons with other 115gr tests I've done with *good* blocks, but I'd say we got 2", maybe 3" maximum further penetration than we should have due to the compromised blocks.
@@BuckeyeBallistics sounds reasonable.
I just picked up 10 boxes of this at $9.99 box couldn’t pass up that deal!
This round sticks in my p30 everytime not other round does this.
I don’t understand why people hate on this ammo in other videos 🤷🏽♂️
$9.99/box on Palmetto State Armory rn
Always remember ballistic gel is great for comparing ballistics of rounds vs other rounds but it does nothing for predicting what it does to flesh and bone. But as always great video.
If the channel ever gets big enough and I can afford it I'm going to shoot big hunks of meat...
@@BuckeyeBallistics lol a man has to have dreams
I mean, it already pays my mortgauge, electric, and car payment. So...
@@BuckeyeBallistics American dream
Bullshit, properly calibrated ballistics gel very accurately predicts what a bullet will do in live tissue. That's exactly why it was invented, by a US Army combat surgeon who was in charge of the US Army wound ballistics testing lab.
Comments like yours display a complete and total lack of education on this subject.
You gotta try a 410 shotgun man!
I plan on it. I already did 12 gauge birdshot and buckshot...
8.99 msrp South Carolina
Holy crap!
$7.99 at PSA! 8/23/2022
Stay Vigilant Patriots!
Nice
Idk why people are having such issues with the brand. Ive been through about 500 rounds without a single issue, 115 ball
What issues
@Guns&Cars well I got a case at a local gun store but just went and ordered another 1k online, and everywhere I go I see someone calling it garbage and failing to do this or that. I've had zero issues and I run a prodigy right now lol zero issues
I spoke only on its ballistic gel performance, i.e. what it's going to do to a badguy compared to other available ammunition. This doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it runs reliable in a firearm, which I'm sure it does...
@@BuckeyeBallistics I never said you did. I was speaking indirectly to you and the content, but to the ammo itself in question to if other people even you had issues. Because I didn't. I got your video. Never said you did anything
👍
That's typical of what I get from a 19
1,060 feet per second is pretty slow. I have old CorBon 155 9mm that will go 1,350 feet per second. That's about what a comparable weight load will do out of a 3 inch .357 magnum.
Ammo inc is absolute trash.
Why?
Agreed 100% poor led to brass seating in jhp.
How is this calibration done with bb? What bb speed? Which bb gun you used? We oistol co2 or carbine like red rider? And that measure penetration is the correct for bb?
.177 caliber bb at 590fps +/- 15fps variance allowed. I use a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster with 8-9 pumps to achieve that velocity over the crhono depending on shooting distance. 2.95" to 3.74" penetration is within spec for 10% ballistic gel. Anything under 2.95" and the block is too dense, anything over 3.74" and it is too thin. Generally you try to come somewhere in the middle of those numbers if possible...
