- Today I am making tender velveted pepper steak Chinese restaurant style right at home. I am cooking at home these days and Chinese take out recipes are a family favorite for dinner.

INGREDIENTS
1 lb (454 g) rib eye steak
2 tsp (10 g) baking soda
1 Tbsp (15 ml) cold water
1 Tbsp (15 ml) cooking wine
1 small to medium onion
2 small bell peppers
2 scallion whites
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp sesame oil
cooking oil for wok
SAUCE INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup (177 ml) beef broth
1 Tbsp (15 g) oyster sauce
2 Tbsp (30 ml) dark soy sauce
2 tsp (8 g) sugar
1 tsp (2.5 g) cracked black pepper
2 Tbsp (15 g) corn starch

Just finished making this for dinner and it's the BEST pepper steak I've ever made. Didn't have oyster sauce so I used hoisin sauce in place of it. Still turned out sooo good. Making it this way from now on. Thanks ❤

I was looking for homemade Chinese food for my mom where I could control the salt. She loves the food, but can't handle the salt they add. I made this for my family tonight, and it was a big hit, everyone loved it, the meat was tender the sauce was just right. We put it on top of a bed of rice.

Just stumbled upon your channel and I am thankful that I did. We’ve had a really great Chinese Restaurant down the road that closed its doors to move to another location further away. Since then, I haven’t found another restaurant that cooked Chinese food like they did. I’m going to give this recipe a try and also watch the video on fried rice you made. Thanks a bunch!

I made this for my family and it was so delicious thank you. The only thing I’m changing is doubling up on everything but the beef. Then doubling up on the sauce ingredients. We’re trying to cut back on our meat intake. Then up our vegetables.
That is one wonderful thing about Asian cooking. You can shove those vegetables into your family and they love them that way!!!!

I had to use red & yellow peppers (didn’t have any green), and sushi ginger was all I had on hand. But as Angelica would say, “it works!” I highly recommend 🥰😋♥️
