    I just got mine and totally love this lift. One problem though and till' you get the hang of it, on the right side, raise the bike close to a wall just in case, after you insert the the left side of the lift the bike tend to lean to the right. I almost drop the bike, luckily I had my inversion table to the right side and my Repsol lean against it and saving the day. The plastic on this bike is sooo expensive. Now the left side. I was an idiot and forgot to lock the wheels of the lift and my bike was doing an impression of the Leaning Tower of Pizza. A 490lb crotch rocket is more than my right knee could handle but I just had a sudden burst of power and pushed this bad boy back up with strength I didn't know I have :) haha. All these not the lift's fault and I just got too excited and careless. I totally suggest you get one if you love working on your crotch rocket during the winter months. I do :)

    Abba skylift is fantastic for my hayabusa.

    I'm hoping that it's easy for one person to use, since I live alone. Thanks for taking the time to make and post the video.

    Awesome bit of kit. I am currently using the much more basic ABBA superbike stand which is brilliant.👍

    I bought an Abba stand in January for my GS and recently sold it. If you want it mainly for maintenance it's very good, but I wanted to use it more for moving my bike round the garage as I have to put it into a tight area in front of my car to store it and for cleaning. For these activities I personally found my constands dolly better for moving the bike around in the garage as the concrete floor in mine is 30 years old so not that smooth. The constands had rubber coated wheels rather than the pure hard plastic ones on the Abba and a much more stable base rather than the extended legs on the Abba which flex resulting in it being more difficult to move about woth the Abba. Cleaning wise I found front and rear paddock stands allow better all round access (apart from underneath) than the Abba. Obvioysly if you have a really smooth garage floor that wouldn't be a problem but if you're just thinking about using it to clean your bike and possibly move it around IMO there are better options. As with any option you choose- paddock stands, Abba stand or a bench each have their advantages/disadvantages so I'd suggest it's important to think what it is you intend to use it for. Their superbike stand with the wheel base thing might be worth considering as an alternative too.

      You can replace those casters at will for a few pounds/euros/bucks. it's one bolt. common thread. the issue is more environmental than product

    I had one for my ktm1290gt its a great bit of kit. I found it useful to grease the screw and hold the bobbins in place with a little grease as I work on my own

  • @Docv400

    Nice bit of kit, but expensive.
    I built my own version for around £100 (but then I already had a MIG Welder, Lathe, Milling Machine, and other Power Tools).
    Mine has a 'Cradle' that slots on in place of the Centre Stand (Guzzi Stelvio), the Lift-Arm then simply slots into that.
    Works in the same way as the ABBA Lift.

    Blimey those bearings 🤪....one of the most important service items to be done but always gets missed. Is it worth checking if there are needle rollers on the frot swing arm pivot. Some bikes have a mix of sealed and needle roller bearings. I've bought my bearings from Swindon Bearings Westmead Ind Est....you just need to take the old bearing in to them and they'll match it up. Not sure if they do needle rollers tho! Should improve the ride as well 👍

    Bad practice that you didn’t insert and lock the safety pin in the hydraulic lift after you’d risen the bike to the desired height.

    • @riggers7480
      @riggers7480 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, Mr Ballantyne, I couldn't get it high enough to get the pin in the first hole, to begin with, due to the fault.
      I'm merely reporting here that my lift doesn't work, as delivered, to make others aware.
      I'd suggest your 'bad practice' comment might better be directed at ABBA delivering stuff with unresolved problems.

    problem is that stupid giant bar gets in the way of working one the bike!! you'd have to turn the bike around potentially to get into certain areas around the middle of the bike.
