I have a question, i live in new york state, i currently heat with a 20 year old oil furnace. Is it possible to, or do you think an HVAC company would put an air coil (even this specific one for example) on top of my existing oil furnace so i can use it as a "dual fuel system"? you say you can do it with gas, but what about oil?

I keep receiving mixed information. What should the wiring be from the outdoor to indoor unit? The traditional 24v stat wire or the 16g s1 - s2 connection? What is wired on the Ecobee? y1 and y2?
I am interested to know as well. When 38MURA / 40MUAA are connected using s1/s2, is there a recommendation on wiring ecobee to 40MUAA using just Y1, or using both Y1 & Y2 ?
Wires to stat are R, G, O/B, Y1, C
Wire to HP condenser are R,Y2,B,C
@@albertairinc.1140 thank you for the info. Are you able to video the wiring on the ecobee, outdoor unit, and indoor unit for the next 38mura overview video? It will clear up a lot of confusion. Thank you again for the information.
@@Carnedelmercado I will try to do one on that, but there are several ways to wire the unit based on matchups with fan coils or furnaces or the different thermostat options.

Thank you for watching the video and I appreciate your comment. I really like the 38MURAQ units. They check a lot of boxes when it comes to my customers needs. I think that you would be very happy with the 38MURAQ unit and have been recommending to my customers over the traditional square condensers because it is quieter, more efficient and a more compact design. As far as cost goes they are typically less than the square units. I wish you luck with your new system.
Does the indoor unit run as a 2 stage if using the ecobee and not the communicating carrier stat?
This system will run as a variable speed system indoors and outdoors. It will decided what speed to run at by using it's temperature and pressure sensors within both of the units. The Ecobee thermostat just controls the settings and has nothing to do with telling the units what speeds it will run at. The Communicating thermostat will use the internal algorithms to tell the system what speeds to run at.

With this unit, if I install an Ecobee instead of the current thermostat, will the air conditioner still run actual variable speed? or just go to 2 stages? I have an entire smart home and I really do want to be able to change the temperature, if desired, with an app. but i can’t currently do that. i am having a lot of trouble figuring out which wifi thermostat (if ANY!) will work properly with a communicating system (and not lose functionality). or at least work properly with my system.
@@michaelc.7130 If you install the Ecobee thermostat the system will run at two stages. You would need to stay with the Carrier communicating thermostat for the full variable speed functionality of the system.
