    You sir ARE the man!! Easy to follow, easy to understand, no drama and you have given me confidence to "have a go" rather than scrapping my motor (which my mechanic advised me to do)
    Got to be worth a crack at it 1st?...surely?

      BTW.....the 1.6tdci is a total piece of dogshit! The DPF is a nightmare plus the oil starvation problem really puts a big black mark against Ford's reputation.
      THANKS FORD!!! (F#ck you very much)

    Hello BMAC, thanks for doing this video. It may just be a lowly Ford, but seeing as this is the only video I've found showing the removal of one it's worth its weight in gold, or at least silver. Cheers.

      Look for cracking in the inlet turbo manifold pipe. That was my issue and also clean all your sensors 👍🏻 my boost issue was bad turbo, split turbo inlet pipe, dirty egr, dirty throttle body and also dirty sensors. Now back to brand new responsive fiesta lol

    The engine in that car is Peugeot hdi and version of that has been used by Citroen, Ford, Volvo, Suzuki and BMW Mini. When replacing turbo unit it is also recommend that you replace the oil pick up pipe as it has gauze on it which can get blocked...

    Is there a way just to move exhaust pipe more away from turbo so that I could see clearly an wastegate actuator internal "flap" and check is it become loose on actuator rod operation ???

  • @keithjurena9319
    @keithjurena9319 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome job. I am using a pair of those turbochargers on an old diesel engine..needed to see the exhaust clamp details. I've sorted out lubrication side plus all threading details. I'm welding exhaust manifolds from stainless which is the major hurdle. The controller for turbos is coming from Scotland.
    All this to get 150 horsepower at 1400 RPM.

    You should know that if you find oil on the front hose wich is conecting to the turbo, from the air box, it is usualy due to the pipe coming from the crank case. Oil vapour gets transported and i.m saing vapour beacuse they actualy little particulats from all that movement inside the engine.

    Is this got a DPF? My heat shield goes all the way down covering the DPF. The heat shield must have bolts lower down as I'm having trouble getting Access to the turbo bolts at the back.

    First this is a french engine sold to ford, used in Peugeot and Citroen & Volvo, also common probs are to remove turbo feed pipe mesh filter as it blocks, also dpf and egr block up due to short journeys. and failed regen. Hope this helps some of you. :)

    nice vid, just one thing, the oil is coming from the breather, not the turbo, it can leak obviously but oil that side of the turbo isn't oil coming out of it, air flow and pressure would prevent this, this engine throws out a lot of oil via the breather, I have installed a catch can to stop this getting ingested back into the inlet manifold / IC. I collect about 70-100ml per 6k. that oil, eventually joins the inlet manifold and combines with the egr soot making a black sticky substance, this works its way In to the sump which then blocks the banjo bolt on the oil pipe feeding the turbo which then blows it up, so if you want to stop your 1.6 TDCI blowing up, blank off the EGR, collect the oil from the breather and change the oil every 6k

    • @misfortune5007
      @misfortune5007 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dee T I removed the filter from the banjo bolt an put fresh oil. Did abut 2000km and then did an engine flush.
      Personaly i think the engine flush did its job. The engine runs more silently and by loking through the top oil plug i can see thet the camshaft is cleaner than before

    • @beachlife2968
      @beachlife2968 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Buga Daniel Hi, did you remove the filter from the banjo bolt that sits on top of the Turbo or the lower banjo bolt from the oil feed pipe?

    • @misfortune5007
      @misfortune5007 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +beach life i removed the filter from the banjo bolt located on the engine block. the banjo bolt on the turbo doesent have a filter, at least mine didnt

    • @deet5072
      @deet5072 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Buga Daniel I'd recommend doing another flush fairly soon, the problem of flushes is that it could dislodge car on which ends up blocking it up after, give it a 1000 miles an do it again to be sure. The filter your looking to remove is in the sump, its this banjo bolt that is easily blocked with carbonised oil

    • @beachlife2968
      @beachlife2968 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Buga Daniel To get to the engine block banjo bolt did you have to remove or lower part of the exhaust? mine is fitted with a dpf

      @StopTeoriomSpiskowym 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BMACVAGS now i dont know what i thinking about. Maybe i think of lost exhaust presure in 5th channel. in 1.6 tdci there is 5th exhaust channel in exhaust mainfold. 5th is for EGR valve recylculation.

    • @BMACVAGS

    Great video. BMAC VAGS please do more videos. Over the weekend my diesel particulate filter warning sign came on.
    I went to my local garage to see what was wrong with it. The Garage informed me, that it would cost around 1,200 pounds to clean DPF and turbo; he said this was the cheapest option.
    Or i could go with new DPF and Turbo for 2,800 pounds on BMW 1 series 116d 2009 model.
    The garage also informed that i could not drive my car, no more than a week as my engine will blow up.
    BMAC VAGS please note......at not point did he check or inspect my car, basically he looked at the dashboard sign.
    I read online that i would have to drive at 50 miles in order to burn out DPF. I tried this method for two days no luck....i have also so inspected the turbo i cannot see any oil leaks.
    BMAC VAGS can you help ? what option could you advise me.

    Very shit engine produced by Peugeot. I've replaced countless turbos and engines because of oil sludging up and seizing the engine solid lmao. If you change the oil every 6000miles with an engine flush and replace the injector seals you mite be lucky for it not to eat a turbo or seize lol
