- In this video I'll be walking you through all the classes I took as a finance major at the University of Connecticut and pointing out which classes were particularly useful for me thus far in my career.
If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them so leave them down in the comments!

Thank you a lot. I am 10th student prelearning for Finance as I know this is a essential skill in daily life and found in your video some skills that I need to acquire that if not for it, I wouldn't have known the direction. Simply speaking, thank you very much!
Thanks for your comment, I’m happy I could help!
Same I want to double major in Finance and Economics
Awesome video, I’d love to see a ‘Deep Dive’ video on some more advanced financial topics and tasks that you specifically worked on.
Thanks for the suggestion!
The fact you can do an internship and your full classes is impressive to me. I could barely handle classes and making sure my grades were good.
Actually the program was split into two halves where the first half was school and the second half was an internship - sorry if that wasn't clear!
perfectly laid out. okay!
Man college apps are due soon and finance degree sounds fun, but Im just learning about it. Hopefully I can get into a solid college with this major.
Good luck man!
I graduated with my finance degree in May and I don’t regret it but a lot of the concepts I learned are catered to Asset management/ IB / Private equity but ig I found out I don’t want to go in either of these industries so kinda find a lot of what I learned useless. I don’t regret my major but if I could do it over I’d rather get an accounting degree!
Ahh this is so me... I mean I'm in my 3rd year and next year I have to choose a major, I love marketing and I was confirmed that I will major in it but recently they changed the courses and all the useful courses are removed lol now they are offering almost useless marketing courses. Now I'm thinking about finance BUT I know I will hate my job, idk what to do.
wont it become automated

Thanks, pal. This was very helpful
Happy to hear that!
thanks man! - incoming freshman in finance
Best of luck!
This was extremely helpful. I appreciate the insight.
Glad you found it helpful!
Managerial Accounting was kinda difficult for me this summer. 😅 the math was kinda eh....
its extremely counterintuitive especially coming out of financial accounting
Super helpful ! Liked and subscribed!
I appreciate that man! Glad the vid was useful.
Great info. Thanks ! Could you add a text tin your video summary below of all these classes. Helps in referencing quickly and doing copy/paste in searches.
Sure, thanks for the suggestion!
Financial derivatives class was pretty difficult
Hi I’m a 30 yr old mom looking to go back to school now my kids are bigger. Any advice
Thankyou!
Thank you
im graduating with a bba in finance, and realized that I only need 4 more classes for an ecnonmics degree as well. From looking at the job market requirements, doesn't seem like having a double major in economics would really be worth the time compared to say an internship. Would you agree?
Absolutely, an internship would be much more worth your time.
amazing, just what I was looking for , it would be great if you can name some books for these courses as I am a self-taught. thank you.
Check out some of the shorts on my channel, I give a few book recommendations. Also, will be coming out with a video where I'll post the full list!
Can i do an accounting and finance degree with a macbook or are the excel limitations a real problem ?
I think you can still get Excel on a Mac but yes Excel is the industry standard.
Kinda of a late comment but I’m debating on going into finance because I love stocks and ETFs and real estate investing. But not a huge math fan. Would you still say it’s a good idea to go into finance and how easy is it to learn the math
The day to day math is very basic, probably algebra level at most so I wouldn't say its very hard to learn!
Just finished my college on Finance degree from New York, I’ve no internship or any experience so what do you suggest me to start with for career job related to my degree?
Congrats on graduating! I've got a video on my channel that goes through options if you don't have any experience so I recommend you check that out!
The colleges have been real quiet after this one. 👀👀👀
😂
So I am a incoming freshman to college. I am a declared accounting major. But I heard accounting is rly boring. Not sure if I should major in accounting with a minor in CIS or major in finance with a minor in CIS. What do you think ??
Accounting indeed is very boring to most people so I would recommend against majoring in it unless you are actually interested in accounting. Finance generally has a more wide range of applications and career trajectories. Hope that helps!
Dang it I choose my career too late I want to major in finance now I’m a sophomore in college and the only business class I took was prin of macroeconomics what some tips to help me get on business track so I don’t waste the rest of my college years
Hey it’s a good thing you realized sooner better than later! Maybe take summer classes to make up the gap?
@@aaron_yao I might but u said to take some internship job during the summer to get experience who knows I have to think about it
@@undeadvictor Go summer school route. Also going another semester or two (5th yr) is ok too. Companies want interns that have solid knowledge. Target your rising senior summer for a serious internship (or before your 5th yr). Other summers are good for work, and being around a business.
What about us cma
Have you done a master's degree? If not would you consider one? Probably likely in something in art considering your direction nowadays
I haven't - I have definitely considered it but so far haven't felt a need to.
Hello Aaron. I want to do Bachelors of Business in Finance. I am currently in 10th grade,What prerequisites do I need to go into finance degree?
Get a good SAT/ACT score, get a good GPA, get into a good school and you'll be able to pursue a Bachelor's degree in finance!
What do you think about double majoring in both finance and accounting?
I’d say accounting is only necessary if you’re looking to be an accountant, otherwise you’ll learn basic accounting as part of the finance curriculum and a finance degree would be better paired with something like comp sci, stats, or math, if you’re thinking about doing a double major.
Help....Nursing or Bachelor in Finance and Economics
Depends on what you want and are interested in! Do you want to see more tangible impacts of helping people or do you want to be part of the financial system that fuels global growth and innovation but is harder to see the impacts?
did you like the online experience at university of connecticut?
I took online classes not by choice but because of the Covid lockdowns but yes, I did!
is it that you have a Bachelor of Science in Finance or Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Finance but I know different schools may have it differently depending on the curriculum.
they not the same thing?
@@hua.yNope.
@@hua.y they are but the difference is in BS Finance you will only focus on finance courses more, and rest will be accounting, economics and law. In BBA Finance you will learn basically everything from accounting to marketing, supply chain, human resources, law everything and you will take less classes of finance compared to BS.
All of this and yet doesn’t know about ambercrobie&fitch being played out
They make some good stuff, I've had the same 4 shirts from them for years 😆
Nah bruh A&F is making a comeback I’ve seen a lot of college students going for that look now
hi bro do you think Ai can replace people in this major?
Interesting question - I think eventually AI probably will reach the level where it can synthesize enough information to squeeze the pricing inefficiencies out of markets but maybe not in our lifetimes. So in the meantime, the finance industry is generally safe from my perspective.
I hate math, this degree will end me
The map isn't too complicated for most of what you'll see in finance so don't worry too much haha
is your degree worth it or i can learn outside the collage ?
Worth it to get a job but you can certainly learn everything on the internet
@@aaron_yaoif I decided to learn finance from the internet where would I start? There are a lot of videos and concepts and it’s overwhelming because I’m not sure what information to consume
@@dontae2765 Honestly, go down the route you're interested in! For me, I was really interested in stocks so I started learning about the stock market, which led me to options, then derivatives, and then so on so forth.
IIm 30 years old from Latin America. Thinking on getting a US masters degree. I have 7 years experience in treasury management and emerging markets. What would you recommend?
I’m so done for
How so?
@@aaron_yao how hard would you say the math is?
@@JacksonTingle Day to day math is high school algebra level at best I would say.
Is it hard for non math lovers lol
I wouldn’t say so
@@aaron_yaois it good for math lovers?
