- Jeff's (Animal Crossing) Wild World #30: I shoot down Gulliver's UFO for the first time, I retrieve Gulliver's UFO parts, I intercept a love letter from Lucio to Joanna, Saharah asks me to deliver three packages (instead of the usual two), I buy a moon for my space room, a villager gives her photo, and more!
This is Animal Crossing: Wild World for Nintendo DS, but played on the Wii U Virtual Console. This episode covers events from March 11, 2020 through April 30, 2020.

Really? I only played it a few times in my childhood, and I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing then. So I never noticed the dialogue...
Those animals act like animals (Not really like in real life... But someone might know what I mean...)

glad to see even with the brand-spankin’ new game out, you still have time for the classics. new horizons makes me miss the simplicity at times.
GameCube to City Folk was about interacting and socializing with your villagers, New Leaf was a combination of interacting with your villagers and fixing up your town, New Horizons however, seems to have put a large focus on creating your Island more than the in-depth villager dialogue of the past games.

Hell, I'm gonna emulate the GameCube one before I get New Horizons. I've never played Animal Crossing before, but it looks pretty fun, and I want to start with the GameCube one.
Two things I want in new horizons that are in this game: Nintendo items and more dialogue from villagers
They really need to add this back in New Horizons. It's was weird l, but charming in a way.

The UFO mechanic from this game and City Folk have made me make a conscious effort to keep the slingshot eqipped as much as possible. You have so little time to react to it.
You missed talking to Gulliver after you give him the UFO parts. He will make references to Metroid, Star Fox, and Pikmin

The dialogue/character interaction in WW is unrivalled. I played it as a kid and I felt like it never repeated itself. however It’s the worst part about NH :( thanks for the video, wonderfully nostalgic 💞💞
i’ve been playing wild world for ten years and i never even knew you could do this…
wow, i felt the panic when you were chasing the ufo! Gulliver flew 7 times over my town, and i could only shoot him down once
Yeah, I didn't think I was going to get him...especially when I saw the river. It was a thrill, though! One out of seven is probably about my ratio as well. I've seen it about that many times, but never shot it down until now.

Literally came here after seeing the UFO , haven't played WW in years so I restarted and don't even have a sling shot yet 😭😭😭 hopefully it comes back soon
To see how much the games have evolved is amazing. Remember when we thought wild world or new leaf had the best graphics when we were little? Crazy (ps, I’m digging the new layout, way easier to read)

This gives me flashback and the bgm somehow makes me think i always hear it everyday

Dude, you have Victoria!! She was my ultimate fave villager in my Wild World town. Sadly, I've never gotten her again in either my CF or NL towns. I've been waiting for soooo long for her to come back one day.

Ok idk why but I’m still in my wild world copy and at the same time I’m at my city folk copy
I didn’t like city folk that much because it was on the Wii and I was used to playing on a hand hold console. The Wii was great for interactive games like Wii sports or this dancing game but I didn’t like to play games like animal crossing with those Wii controllers and you couldn’t play it at night/in the morning in your bed etc.

OK. I figured out your master plan:
1. You go to the store
2. You find a moon
3. You buy the moon
4. You sit on the toilet-wait, what?
It's kinda crazy to go from watching New Horizons to watching Wild World. Also I had no idea the Sporty Shades the New Horizons Animals wear when working out have existed since Wild World.
I remember my character falling on the floor while running on the town, but I don't remember how this happens, today I can only skid by switching my running direction.
Falling can result from a bad fortune from Katrina, but it also happens if you're wearing a King Tut mask.
I made a space room in my house on New Horizons. I had to get a lot of DIY recipes though, but it looks pretty cool.
One night I had the weirdest dream where Tom Nook (from Wild World, specifically because I was obsessed with it when I was younger) proposed to my animal crossing avatar.

I’ve had this game ever since it came out and it starts to freeze. I have never shot down the space ship but I did die from a spider bite once...had to start the whole game over.
I think having Gulliver as some weird spaceman was a pretty dumb idea. They missed their chances of making some alien character for Animal Crossing

everyday im dissapointed the nook shop upgrade in new horizons adds like 1 additional item instead of looking like the shops in new leaf or wild world.
I'm thinking it will get an upgrade and add Leif and some more spots for items..
I always wanted this to return - with ACNH having gulliver have multiple jobs under different names (gulliver/wash up on ocean and gullivarr/pirate), I would love to see him get a third job as the UFO dude! Prefer how it worked in ACWW with the ufo falling immediately and looking for 5 parts. Would be a fun way to get new rare space furniture and clothing.
What do you think gulliver's ufo alien name should be (like how gullivarr got a pun name)

Right now I play most of the older games about once a week, maybe for 20-30 minutes or so. So it's not too hard.

I liked Gulliver as an astronaut (probably because of his outfit). But I kinda appreciate that he's a sailor now since his UFO was frighteningly difficult to shoot out of the sky.

I really wonder why I liked City Folk over Wild World. Probably because of how slow the game is and the sound effects.
How did you manage to get Nookingtons in your town after starting a new game?? I read in order to unlock it you have to have a friend visit your town and buy something but Nintendo WiFi no longer exists...
I'm playing the Virtual Console version on Wii U, and they removed that requirement for that version (since the VC version doesn't support online or local features).

Keep in mind that I'm not recording from a DS. I'm playing the Virtual Console version of the game on Wii U. And I use the Elgato Game Capture HD to record from my Wii U.
Do you think it’s worth it for me to start a city folk town right now? I’m playing new horizons like most people, but I’ve never tried juggling two games at once. Do you think I should try it?
It doesn't hurt to try! You could maybe play it for a few minutes a day, but still focus on New Horizons if you want. But it's up to you! :)

Wasn't expecting this but you seriously have all my grattitude, purchased two weeks a go a DSi at a First Cash for only 16 dollars, after a couple of tutorials here and there managed to hack the system and now am finally able to play Wild World as well.

How come I never got guliver or pascal in wild world on my NINTENDO DS and also I only have 400 bells because im still on my part job with tom nook because I started yesterday. And also how did you get Timmy and tommy?! And also my sister is done with hers its really not fair
Pascal randomly shows up by the beach once every few weeks or so. Make sure you check that area, especially if you don't see any other visitors in town. The UFO also comes once every few weeks; look for it in the first ten minutes of your session each day (again, if no other visitors are in town). Timmy and Tommy appear when you upgrade to Nookington's. If you're playing the original DS version, you need to have another player from another town shop at your store before you can unlock it. (That requirement is not present in the Virtual Console version on Wii U.)

I play Wild World on the Wii U Virtual Console. The others I play on actual consoles.

Yeah, there are a bunch of them that are programmed into the game, so they're not always from actual people.
Is her name still Saharah in New Horizons? I love it :D I don’t know why they renamed her „Aziza“ in German because Saharah would’ve made sense in German as well.
(Well I don’t know why they changed most names in general because there’s also no need to rename the squirrel Caroline to Ricarda because Caroline is a well known name in German as well, or Timmy and Tommy to Schlepp and Nepp (what aren’t even real existing names) or Shari to Uta (Uta is btw an old fashioned name in German and doesn’t even fit her at all) and there are so many other bad examples where they just shouldn’t have changed the name)

what time does gulliver come?
It'll be at the first x:x2 or x:x7 that you're outside. So stay outside for the first ~10 minutes of your session if you want to make sure you're ready for him. He comes about once every three weeks or so, on average.
