Ive been alone all my life so its how i drank. Been sober for 2 months today which is a milestone for me. Thing is. Ive gone into eating more than ever before. I have to deal with that now. But like u said. All these things are external ways of dealing with stress and emotions. Im trying to get sober because people around me dont give a ratz a$$ about anybody and our society is a complete sh!t show and i want no part if it.
I’m a widow who lives alone. My drinking alone has gotten worse in the past few years due to chronic arthritic pain than loneliness. I’m on Day 4 no drinking and dealing with the pain has been the hardest. Love the pod! 🫶
I drank alone. For me personally it made social media more fun because I was an online troll. I think people forget that the online trolls are typically drunk or drugged out, they're not in a clear mindset when they post insane stuff.
I started to cut down my drinking when coworkers and family members told me I smelt like beer and that was after 8 hours of sleeping. I'm sober now but that was my first wake up call.
You two are good together by the way. Enjoyed that video. Drinking alone big issue. Strange for me I was way older never when young. Empty nest who was also my best friend as well as my son. Neither of us drank. Cracked it now thank goodness but I had to analyse it xx Janet 🇬🇧
I can tell you why I do this. I come home from work and I need to relax quickly because I work 4 13 hr shifts in a row. It’s like self medicating to get ready for sleep. I sit down, read with a glass of wine and then wash my face and go to sleep. I’m so lonely in those nights, and everyone is already asleep in my friend circle. I am going to start doing yoga for relaxation and try to replace the habit with something else. Also, I will only drink a Cabernet. If I don’t have any, I just go to bed. I think it’s a crutch. What do you think?
Also Alcohol is cheaper and everywhere 24/7 like soft drinks. Drinking alone also creates tolerances high rapidly. Hiding drinking is easier than ever. You can drink how much you want.
No . I just had ankle surgery, and put under. I to sign a form that I was not allowed to make ANY big life decisions . This was repeated to me several times.
@@sheridixon190 No, I don't know if it has a catchy name because it is rarely drank except in some parts of Europe. It's very bitter and doesn't go down easily.

In Japan, they have the tradition that you are never supposed to pour your own drink--someone else must pour it for you. It makes sense.

Just completed one year of sobriety. Feel great. Never drinking again.

I think that you are using alcohol to numb feelings of loneliness.
It’s the wanting
We do what we want
The want has to be re directed to something healthier

Hiding drinking is easier than ever. You can drink how much you want.

My special needs son's barbershop has a fridge of beers for free while waiting or having haircut
What about you feel ok when not drinking, but drinking makes u feel even better?!
At least they aren’t drinking and driving as they used to, happily back in the day, when leaving the pub ‘socialising’
Campari and soda with lime is a great apertif. There is absolutely no chance of getting drunk on it.
Is that a Negroni?

I don't really see the point of this conversation. Is it to help people? Look in the mirror.
