I spent a week animating the snake in different ways, and this tutorial showed me how to do it in 5 minutes! The best snake animation tutorial! Thank you!❤
This is by its very nature looping since the last keyframe is the same as the first keyframe. You could try and cycle the animation: th-cam.com/video/chlIrcTAqUs/w-d-xo.html
Excellent snake ! , when i apply the subdivision modifier the snake gets perfectly smooth but when i go to edit mode face ,I was expecting small tiny faces as in ur video at "5:39" instead the faces i see are that when i used the cut edge loop tool . i hope i am making sense . Thanks in advance !
@@JSAbbott ,thanks for replying ,i resolved the problem, actually it was silly mistake . Although i added the subdivision modifier and i could see a smoother version of the snake but i didnt apply the modifer thats when i went to face mode i was selection big faces rather than the final small faces.
Hi, excelent tutorial, but i have a problem. The animation works fine in blender, but when i try to export it as fbx or glb, the snake is straight instead of curved, and it doesn't move on the bezier circle, it moves straight on the Y axis and then dissapears. Doesn anybody know what is the problem?
another great video! I'm gonna have to binge watch your whole channel, thank you thank you! 🤗 Am wondering, is it possible to animate directly from a bezier curve? (I don't mean along the taper as you demonstrated, I mean the curve itself, ie, the handles and points that define the curve in edit mode). In this way could we make a snake that is just a bezier curve that changes shape in different keyframes? Did this make any sense?
I don't use SHIFT W at all. What specifically are you looking to do? SHIFT A = Add menu CTRL T = Adding Mapping and Texture Coordinate nodes to a Texture node CTRL SHIFT T = Adding external Texture Maps to the Principled Shader CTRL SHIFT LMB = Viewing and individual node
If you don't apply any transformation (scale, rotation, location) it can cause problems with the materials. It can also cause issues when you edit the object (especially insetting any faces).
Thank you for the tutorial. Looks amazing. I cannot understand what you did with the nodes though. Did you prepare them on another tutorial? It seems you skipped that part? How did the snake get this color and scales? Thank you!
You are welcome. I show you how I applied the materials at 6:37 I said that I downloaded the textures from another site (the link is in the description). If you have the node wrangler add-on activated, you just select the BSDF shader node and use CTRL + SHIFT + T to open the folder where you have the downloaded textures. You then simply select your texture maps and click on "principled texture setup."
I am having an issue while rendering... Can you tell me how do i render it..the model is getting disappeared all the time while rendering the animation.
Make sure the model isn't hidden in the Outline (the little camera icon needs to be activated). If this isn't the issue, your model might be too big and is getting clipped. You can change the clipping range of the camera under the Camera options panel. Otherwise, make sure you don't have problems with your keyframes or something that is between the camera and the model.
I don't generally do high-poly work (or organic modeling in general). I do have a scales tutorial coming out in a couple days that should get you started. Also, you might want to check this tutorial out: th-cam.com/video/4nJhUjYP-18/w-d-xo.html
It applies any transformation (rotation, scale, location) to the object. If you don't apply the transformations it can cause issues with modeling (especially insetting faces) or animation.
@@JSAbbott Okay thanks 😊 I'm having a nightmare without the animation lol. Could I bother you with one more question? How do you know it's been rendered? I'm tryna make an object to put in my Sims game. That object happens to be a snake. When I try to import the mesh into sims 4 studio it gives me errors. I know people make stuff in blender then put it into their games but i'm really struggling. I just want a simple bloody snake dammit! 😂 Do you have any idea about how to do that or could you make a video on it? Okay that was more like three/four questions. My bad but i'd be grateful if could help. Thanks!
@@XxDiamondBubbles364xX Well, I don't know anything about the Sims unfortunately. I did find this tutorial (th-cam.com/video/n79zd_evKFU/w-d-xo.html). Please note the person said it will only work with Blender 2.76 which might be an issue for you.
@@JSAbbott Hey thanks for the link. I've got blender 3.2 so maybe the one i'm using is too advanced 🤷♀ I'll check it out anyways and probably watch this vid a few more times. You've created a cute snake btw. I was amazed at the animation and how smoothly it ran!
It is low-poly, not a 'realistic' snake. It was a requested tutorial. I don't usually model anything organic. It just isn't my interest or my specialty.

Thanks. I'm glad it was helpful to you.
This was so perfect.
Thanks.
Thanks for the tip :D
I didn't know how to animate with curves, so this was helpful.
Thank you.
I'm glad it was helpful.
Just made my work 100 times faster, thank you
Great to hear!
Very helpful, thanks.

Thank you so much for making this
You're so welcome!
Superb!!! ❤Great tutorial. 👌👌👌👌
Thanks a lot 😊
This is amazing. Thank you so much for making this. Is there any way to make this a looping animation?
This is by its very nature looping since the last keyframe is the same as the first keyframe.
You could try and cycle the animation: th-cam.com/video/chlIrcTAqUs/w-d-xo.html
And then there is me, without numpad , trying to figure this out.
Under you preferences go to the input tab and activate "emulate numpad" then you can use your top-row number keys.
Interesting! Did you have to rig the snake at all?
If you are just using a path to animate along you don't need to rig the snake.
thank you
Welcome!

This method won't work if you are trying to export it since it relies on the curve and a modifier.

You can animate curves but it is very limiting.

Hello again, why do you apply all transforms in 5:30? What does that serve for?
If you don't apply any transformation (scale, rotation, location) it can cause problems with the materials. It can also cause issues when you edit the object (especially insetting any faces).
I have a texture for my snake model, is there a way to apply my texture with these scales?
I show you how to add material at 6:26. Do you have a specific question?

I don't get a finer mesh when I go to edit mode after subdividing and smoothening 🤔🤔🤔
You may not have enough geometry to fully smooth. You can always increase the subdivision surface modifier.
It is very useful
Glad to hear that

how do you edge loops?
If you mean adding edge loops - the hotkey is CTRL + R.
Cool!
thanks
Please make high poly snake 3d model

What does apply all the transforms mean?
It applies any transformation (rotation, scale, location) to the object.
If you don't apply the transformations it can cause issues with modeling (especially insetting faces) or animation.
