Always a pleasure to listen to your lectures. "Disruption Class: Ekhi?" That's a first. But the fact that Everest is home to a large count of icy frostbitten corpses is actaully very creepy. The fact they absorb heat and walk about the mountain looking for heat sources is also alarming.

@@unfortunateson1938 I mean why would they have to it’s a mountain that’s dangerous people can die on there by accident so they can just say it was a accident
This has to be one of my favourite articles. You have the exploration logs, which build up some really heavy suspense Then it lures you into a sense of false security with the idea that the mtf was just hallucinating from a lack of oxygen But then that last line hits you like a tonne of bricks It's all just so well rounded and feels really complete. And it's a great example of how SCP horror can take something absolutely normal and turn it into something that'll make you shit yourself
The thing I love most about your videos is honestly the MTF and field logs. The Orcadian Horsemen is a favorite of mine and this scratches a similar itch, you really elevate the logs with these. They make it a hell of a lot more real, plus it's more dynamic to hear different voices than just Dr. Millar. Plus I imagine it's more fun for you to do varied voices and make the whole work more layered. Good stuff Volgun, I was real happy when I saw this had just been uploaded less than an hour ago. What I love about this, is that they never confirm if the SCP instances that were moving were entirely illusions or not and that terrified me. And when Dr. Miller chillingly said "approximately 45% of Mt.Everst is made of corpses" I shuttered. It isnt the most horrifying SCP I have heard, but it is increidbly unsettling
this scp actually kinda creeped me out. other scp’s are like “oo cool spoop monster” but this one just kinda has that sense of realistic possibility, if ya catch my drift.
I would say the conclusion to draw here is that the scp has some kind of origin from a long time ago. It's at the base of the mountain. Over the years it's attracted people in and essentially built itself up into an enomorus mountain of corpses interleaved by layers of covering material like snow and dirt
I assume they all came from earth Probably an object with the ability to transfer its properties to any living thing that touches it object at the top of a mountain that kills and converts the first person who touched it Someone comes looking for them and touches them to recover there body Over time more and more people pile up get covered then discovered by rescue parties that die as well It's probably layers upon layers of multiple bodies deep then a few feet of snow then bodies each layer hardening from being at the center of such a frozen mass Over time you have a mountain much larger The prediction that 40% of the mountain being bodies means that the bottom %60 is probably just mountain A mountain 60% the size of Everest is still huge Plenty big enough for entire rescue parties to go missing and be forgotten about over te generations until some other fool goes and gets dead and condemns the lives of another rescue party This scp is really interesting 🤔 like I'm imagining going deeper through the layers and it would be like going back in time All the way back to whatever humans or other creatures were at the core next to the original anomaly
But we do. Hundreds, maybe thousands of years worth of humans climbing the tallest mountain. We can’t help ourselves, which makes it the perfect place to lure victims to their doom. Building a unholy temple bigger and bigger, while humans think nothing out of the ordinary occurs, and the mountain grows (Everest IS actually getting bigger everyday).
No matter what this guy will always remain the best scp youtuber. The newer scp channels like that one the infographic show made has nothing on this guy.
Your classes are always so much more professional then that odd Dr. Bright. Last week he tried to instruct us in the ways of the chainsaw cannon! Such a strange man.
This gave me real chills. Not only because this SCP is based on a real life mountain and it has a core of truth to it, but also because of some real incidents, which remind me of this log-file. Think of the dyatlov-pass or the story of the 7 hikers, where 6 went literally crazy and got killed or just straight up collapsed and died of something unknown. Something happened in both of these incidents, probably natural and we can't explain it because we don't have the full story, but still terrifying to think of it.
I don't know what it is about your voice but your videos have been the only thing helping me fall asleep at night the past few months. I'm not saying you're boring lol, I love your vidoes, but I always put on a playlist of of them when I want to go to sleep.
Holy shit, I remember when I first made an account for the wiki and this was the highest trending one at the time. So cool to hear it presented by Dr. Miller.
Half of Everest would be like 7trillion corpses give or take an order of magnitude. That would mean that a good portion of every living creature to ever walk the earth is now an instance of scp-5140
We don't know that all of the humanoids are corpses. We also have reason to believe they are animated. They might make our bodies one of them, but that doesn't mean all of 5140 started as people. Edit: Maybe they reproduce?
@@Zombie_Scholar I was thinking more along the line of not all the corpses are human, the current estimate of total humans to ever live is about 100 billion, so the majority of scp-5140 would have to be dinosaurs, unless the world has actually been reset a bunch from yk-class shenanigans.
It would be safe to assume this could be an alternate human with a much larger human population Hell, it could a super earth for all we know and allows for a massively larger population (if you assume its the same earth just four years in the future, it still wouldn't have that large a population, there has to be some major differences).
Your voice acting is so good it's a little jarring to hear you speak normally at the end of the videos! Keep up the great work, love all your scp vids!
The Mountain Cemetary - Edgar Allen Poe With their harsh leaves old rhododendrons fill The crevices in grave plots’ broken stones. The bees renew the blossoms they destroy, While in the burning air the pines rise still, Commemorating long forgotten biers. Their roots replace the semblance of these bones. The weight of cool, of imperceptible dust That came from nothing and to nothing came Is light within the earth and on the air. The change that so renews itself is just. The enormous, sundry platitude of death Is for these bones, bees, trees, and leaves the same. And splayed upon the ground and through the trees The mountains’ shadow fills and cools the air, Smoothing the shape of headstones to the earth. The rhododendrons suffer with the bees Whose struggles loose ripe petals to the earth, The heaviest burden it shall ever bear. Our hard earned knowledge fits us for such sleep. Although the spring must come, it passes too To form the burden suffered for what comes. Whatever we would give our souls to keep Is merely part of what we call the soul; What we of time would threaten to undo All time in its slow scrutiny has done. For on the grass that starts about the feet The body’s shadow turns, to shape in time, Soon grown preponderant with creeping shade, The final shadow that is turn of earth; And what seems won paid for as in defeat.

Except at 10C they would not even be frozen
So this is what happened to the white walkers

I love the idea that we're still not quite sure at the end whether those frozen corpses actually can move, or whether it is just a hallucination. Leaving things hanging like that really adds to the suspense! Kudos to the writer!
Dr. Miller, I'm surprised that Mt. Everest is figuratively and literally a pile of corpses.
45% of the mountain’s mass is comprised of instances... Did the Chinese try invading over Everest or something?
It can be from so many people going to the mountain threw the years
@@Lilgip234 how would the foundation be able to cover up such a large mortality rate?
@@unfortunateson1938 I mean why would they have to it’s a mountain that’s dangerous people can die on there by accident so they can just say it was a accident
@@Lilgip234 there have only been a handful of deaths on Everest.
That’s 16 times the Earth’s population; the corpses are clearly generated anomalously
It makes sense to me, the mountain friggin destroys people on it.
This has to be one of my favourite articles. You have the exploration logs, which build up some really heavy suspense
Then it lures you into a sense of false security with the idea that the mtf was just hallucinating from a lack of oxygen
But then that last line hits you like a tonne of bricks
It's all just so well rounded and feels really complete. And it's a great example of how SCP horror can take something absolutely normal and turn it into something that'll make you shit yourself
So Mt Everest is a Necromancy node or hot spot in the SCP universe. Probably a place where black magic gathers in mass.
That ending sentence sent chills down my spine
The thing I love most about your videos is honestly the MTF and field logs. The Orcadian Horsemen is a favorite of mine and this scratches a similar itch, you really elevate the logs with these. They make it a hell of a lot more real, plus it's more dynamic to hear different voices than just Dr. Millar. Plus I imagine it's more fun for you to do varied voices and make the whole work more layered. Good stuff Volgun, I was real happy when I saw this had just been uploaded less than an hour ago. Made my afternoon.
Thanks man, It's nice to know that the touches I put into these are appreciated.

This had a fun blend of vaguely silly and vaguely unsettling, like a lot of the most fun SCPs.
I mean the video of Mount Everest being forged from dead bodies seems more unnerving than anything
I love the subtle leak of emotion between the conversation while they try to keep it profesional
This is the first time in a while that a SCP story gave me chills ^^
You're a wonderful narrator
Major traumatic experiences in my life :
- Breaking up with first love
- Gettin into a fight and in some serious troubles after
- Discovering the smoke in the Volgun videos was from cofee and not cigaret
What I love about this, is that they never confirm if the SCP instances that were moving were entirely illusions or not and that terrified me.
And when Dr. Miller chillingly said
"approximately 45% of Mt.Everst is made of corpses"
I shuttered.
It isnt the most horrifying SCP I have heard, but it is increidbly unsettling
Id wager they do move, they all made it to the summit, not all of them had broken air valves, and they all saw the body “fall” off the summit
I didn't shudder, I laughed. That's more corpses than have ever been people several times over.
@@ChrissieBear in the SCP universe, there are a Lot of explanations for how that could be. Each one more terrifying then the last.
@@ChrissieBear There's the Repopulation Machine under Yellowstone. Who's to say that many of the bodies weren't from previous iterations?
I swear, these videos are higher quality every upload. Keep up the good work!
this scp actually kinda creeped me out. other scp’s are like “oo cool spoop monster” but this one just kinda has that sense of realistic possibility, if ya catch my drift.
I do. It's... well... yeah.
.... just realized I am listening to this on April 25, 2023.... need to remember to rewatch this a year from today.
This one creeps me out a lot. Probably because we don’t excactly know where these bodies are coming from.
I would say the conclusion to draw here is that the scp has some kind of origin from a long time ago. It's at the base of the mountain. Over the years it's attracted people in and essentially built itself up into an enomorus mountain of corpses interleaved by layers of covering material like snow and dirt
I assume they all came from earth
Probably an object with the ability to transfer its properties to any living thing that touches it
object at the top of a mountain that kills and converts the first person who touched it
Someone comes looking for them and touches them to recover there body
Over time more and more people pile up get covered then discovered by rescue parties that die as well
It's probably layers upon layers of multiple bodies deep then a few feet of snow then bodies
each layer hardening from being at the center of such a frozen mass
Over time you have a mountain much larger
The prediction that 40% of the mountain being bodies means that the bottom %60 is probably just mountain
A mountain 60% the size of Everest is still huge
Plenty big enough for entire rescue parties to go missing and be forgotten about over te generations until some other fool goes and gets dead and condemns the lives of another rescue party
This scp is really interesting 🤔 like I'm imagining going deeper through the layers and it would be like going back in time
All the way back to whatever humans or other creatures were at the core next to the original anomaly
Oh yeah! I remember reading about that a long time go. It’s called the Rainbow Valley.
Just looked up some pics and yeah, they were creepy.
I know where they come from

@@agustinramos7500 yep, that’s one of the 001s. Arbelicts proposal: You Are The Anomaly, Tumor Of The Worlds.
that fucking blender is acting weird
This gave me real chills. Not only because this SCP is based on a real life mountain and it has a core of truth to it, but also because of some real incidents, which remind me of this log-file. Think of the dyatlov-pass or the story of the 7 hikers, where 6 went literally crazy and got killed or just straight up collapsed and died of something unknown. Something happened in both of these incidents, probably natural and we can't explain it because we don't have the full story, but still terrifying to think of it.
Brings to question if the "we climb it because it's there" mentality is part of it.
Maybe it has some psychic effect on people? If so, that's another really neat and hidden aspect of the anomaly.

Amazing video and voice acting as always Sir Volgun. Hope the burnout hasn't been to bad!
Well this says its also in 2024 so maybe in 4 years rhe human population explodes or something
Yeah it feels like the author was maybe meaning something closer to 45% of Everest's mass at the peak
It would be safe to assume this could be an alternate human with a much larger human population
Hell, it could a super earth for all we know and allows for a massively larger population (if you assume its the same earth just four years in the future, it still wouldn't have that large a population, there has to be some major differences).
Always a pleasure to hear from you Dr. Miller. We will be waiting for more of your reports and information.

The Mountain Cemetary
- Edgar Allen Poe
With their harsh leaves old rhododendrons fill
The crevices in grave plots’ broken stones.
The bees renew the blossoms they destroy,
While in the burning air the pines rise still,
Commemorating long forgotten biers.
Their roots replace the semblance of these bones.
The weight of cool, of imperceptible dust
That came from nothing and to nothing came
Is light within the earth and on the air.
The change that so renews itself is just.
The enormous, sundry platitude of death
Is for these bones, bees, trees, and leaves the same.
And splayed upon the ground and through the trees
The mountains’ shadow fills and cools the air,
Smoothing the shape of headstones to the earth.
The rhododendrons suffer with the bees
Whose struggles loose ripe petals to the earth,
The heaviest burden it shall ever bear.
Our hard earned knowledge fits us for such sleep.
Although the spring must come, it passes too
To form the burden suffered for what comes.
Whatever we would give our souls to keep
Is merely part of what we call the soul;
What we of time would threaten to undo
All time in its slow scrutiny has done.
For on the grass that starts about the feet
The body’s shadow turns, to shape in time,
Soon grown preponderant with creeping shade,
The final shadow that is turn of earth;
And what seems won paid for as in defeat.
Poe wrote a poem about Everest? Cool!
