I really enjoy fishing as long as they are biting steadily but I LOVE fly fishing. I recommend that you try it if you have the chance. Love your videos! Absolutely beautiful little lake.Looks like a great day to me.
It doesn't get any better ! Great companion, beautiful country, good dogs and good livestock ! Just how I remember pack trips in the eastern Sierras. Thanks for letting me go with you .
You all looked like you were really getting a great break from the heat! Being in yhat cold water. Glad your animals could enjoy a little chill too! God bless!👍🙏
Cool video guys, I just returned from a 4 day pack trip into the wilderness in NE Oregon, super time, lots of biting horse flies and mosquitoes, uggg!!! Little secret about high lake fishing- Spin cast pole-clear "fly bobber" with 4-6' leader and a dry fly, preferably something like a mosquito, they are starved for food and anything on top of the water is money!! loved the dogs playing in thre water "helping" love it!! thx for sharing the day
That’s sounds like a blast! Were you in the eagle caps?? We are both originally from Oregon ☺️ That sounds like a great tip! I was wishing we knew how to fly fish because it seemed we would probably catch more with a fly, but that would be a great solution to our lack in fly fishing knowledge but also have something sitting on the water! Can’t wait to try it!!
@MTN_BUILT yes it was the eagle caps, been packing in for 35+year's and backpacked before then, love it! I've packed all tried all kinds of lures, but the setup I mentioned seems to work consistently the best, good luck!
Awesome adventure & miss that, the high country lakes & country are awesome, the dogs needed their time to & look happy, some go to church & speak of his wonders,I prefer the high country & see them 🙏🇺🇸
The dogs were having so much fun! 😂😂😂 they weren’t all that helpful for fishing but they really enjoyed swimming! Yeti was out in the middle just swimming here and there for like an hour 😅😅 You can’t see that country and not see Gods hand in it all 😍😍
Have you ever tried boat bumpers when ponying young mules? Light and bouncy. They can bounce off anything cant hurt anything of course you need to get them used to them alittle at home 1st. All my babies carried them when we ponied off momma. Just a thought for you young mules
First off, 20 minutes to SHORT, lol. What a way to spend a day! Riding mules up into a high mountain lake, fishing for trout, and Jason catches the first trout!God favors beginners luck, lol. What a great way to enjoy my cup of coffee. Awesome day. Already awaiting next video.
Haha! 😂 thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment! So glad you enjoyed it ☺️ it was a wonderful day and a great way to get out of the heat for a while! It was a blast watching the dogs have so much fun 😂
I'm guessing Alyssa will be the victor in the fishing tournament, though I immediately figured she would the moment it was posed. I also _MAY_ have called Jason a coward when he reacted to the idea of loser surviving on their own in the wilderness for a month. 😂 I love these kinds of adventures, whether I'm a part of them or I get to enjoy them through others! Squirrel faceplanting hardcore into that ditch was HILARIOUS 😂 Classic example of dogs not being too bright haha
Haha right?! I thought surviving in the wilderness for a month was fitting! But dinner and desert were good so I guess it worked out 😂 Poor squirrel lol!! I hate to admit it but when we watched the footage at home we laughed so hard, until then we hadn’t realized he biffed it so bad! 😂 Thanks for watching!! ☺️
Love seeing the view over the dun’s ears. Just started working with our 3yo grulla mule. Those black tipped ears bobbing make me excited to ride Silas through the mtns here in Appalachia one day. Appreciate y’all!
That’s so awesome! I’m excited for you, and I totally agree- you can’t beat the view through those black tipped ears 😊 Good luck with your grulla! It’s pretty cool to have the opportunity to train one from the beginning!
Love fishing with my ponies also the dun mule with stripes on his legs is super cool btw I know a very good fishing hole you might be able to take stock down there but you’d have to hobble them or tie them up because is a very Streep drop down and it’s to deep to walk across but we usually kayak in there but I pack my paddle bird down and man is that a work out it’s about a 8 hour floating total very fun
I know it gets cold there but 100 degrees is every day here and AC is a must how do you stand it we have horse flies here that will chase you into the water hope they're not like that there that blanket on cedar is cool is it hand made glad you're back thanks kray
100 degrees is pretty hot here, and we aren’t used to it! We also have a dry heat so we shouldn’t complain haha! Oh man the horse flies are so bad this year! Big giant things and man does it sting when they bite 😬 Thank you! I don’t think it’s hand made but I love the native style type of print on it ☺️ she looks pretty good in those colors! Haha
Everyone looks great and the mules did so good! What a lovely spot. Random and unrelated question, does Alissa have highlights? Her hair is so beautiful ❤ what does she use for her hair?

Why are mules manes cut so short?
They don’t really grow much of a mane so it’s tradition to roach them. 🙂
