This is one of those maps where I feel safer by spawning in some AI bodyguards... It'd be a really cool map to RP an assault on an overrun or barely holding on research facility, just imagine you and your buddies slowly clearing it, bringing up an IFV or APC through the tunnels, and completing some objectives set by an admin or something. It'd be very fun, wouldn't it?
krot is such a cool map, like even outside of just being spooky and having a really cool atmosphere, every area feels like it has a purpose, with actual interior roads for trucks and cars to move around and a lot of just maintenance corridors, it really feels like something you'd see in an actual underground facility.
Damn, your russian\slavic accent is pretty believable, it took me some time to realize, that is not real russian\slavs talking in english, even tho i'm native russian speaker... Plenty of russians are not really bothering themselves to learn proper pronounciation... Map looks really cool, it has heavy Metro's D6 and Stalker's labs vibe, it makes me feel angst and nostalgic simultaneously... Walls\floors covering\coloring, furniture placement, rooms layout - all looks very believable, like it strait up copied from real abandoned soviet bunker. Definitely gonna check this map for myself!
Funny how at fist I thought RadHaz is actually from Western/Southern Slavic countries, like Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia or Slovakia. The accent is very similar.

KROT is an awesome map. If you're looking for a similar map, I reccomend Waystation. It's a map based on STALKER, and it's got the same kind of "haunted abandoned bunker" vibe, and it's pretty spooky.
TH-camr "The Librarian" did a full, in-depth playthrough (walkthrough?) of this map in VR a little while back, I recommend watching it if this vid struck your fancy.
Thats kinda funny the first thing that came to mind immediately were the 2 paranoia games. I played them years ago but watching through the video I was recognising sections from the games.
Play Stalker anomaly, EFP or GAMMA if you love atmospheres similar to the one in this video, Rad. You will LOVE those games to death, and they're free!
KROT and marsh are some of my favorite maps from gmod, mostly marsh with how desolate, but alive that map is. its dark and gritty just the way i like it
Forget about [THE ASSET]! We are cutting our losses and pulling out. Anyone left down there now is on his own. Repeat, if you weren't already, you are now... Also, in my opinion jumpscares are not for horror but just to scare you once, or a quick release of the tension built up from the not seeing the thing in the dark. And the reason sounds are so effective is because you hear 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 but do not see it. And if you look at old horror movies compared to new ones it really shows the differences in horror as old movies did not have any jumpscares and just hinted at a monster (or atleast the ones I have seen) while newer ones just have the quick release of scare from the jumpscares. A good old movie that I know of for that is The Haunting (1963 version) because you do not know if the main character is insane or if there are really ghosts... Wow, that was long, appologises, I can talk about this for awhile because most people do not realise the point of jumpscares.
I heard about Paranoia but never got the chance to play it because the mod is not fully supported to the Steam version of Half-Life. Regardless, that map is so atmospheric and very spooky.

I can highly suggest The Librarian if you like eerie Source maps in Gmod. If you search for "Exploring Krot". A lot of the assets are actually taken from the STALKER games. I frequently fall asleep to The Librarians videos but not Krot. Never Krot.
Pretty certain this mod uses assets from the Stalker games. Not that’s a bad thing of course, and Stalker mods often use assets from Metro and Tarkov 😜
I remember playing on this with loads of mods with a friend. We spawned some Resident Evil chaser SNPC and we gave ourselves a head start. I think we had another mod too that spawned a few zombies here and there around the map too? We had the Modern Warfare NVGs mod and we had to only use those as our light source which used its battery fast. It was pretty fun and scary experience! I recommend anyone to try it out!
I do wish there were some shambling horrors down in the you know where area that only spawn rarely. Even better if it doesn't even try to kill you, maybe just stops and stares at you before running away. Where da fuq did it go!?
that isn't the citadel scream, it's a thing in the lowermost bunker in the game. in paranoia. it makes those sounds i won't say what it is exactly, but that's the most you should know about it. play the mod 😉

I can't recommend PARANOIA mod. Sure, first walkthrough felt good, but looking for interesting detail, I accidentally found its weaknesses. And it was disappointing! We play as 🤢russian special forces🤮 officer. First levels are just plain corridors, easy to get lost in. Then you fight terrorists who need more ammo to get killed then drop. Aand, broken drop system kicks in. It's just so awkward. In the underground complex the '''horror''' part starts. Sure it can scare you off, but only until your first death, then you are just pissed off more and more. Then the story proceeds. It weren't just terrorists with grotesque caucasian accent, they were actually hired to cover up American spies from attention (?), because sure USA need to know everything about risua, even though these labs could be found at any moment during the Cold war, when this spying would make sense... After leaving lab and fighting with NATO soldiers (lol) with hostile clones, our hero leaves the facility. But the game wouldn't be the game without helicopter boss! So sure you have to strike it with fly (RPG-7) several times in row. And even though it flies everywhere, most of hits won't even count.

Years ago they released a standalone version of Paranoia running on Xash 3d. It's free and didn't require Half-Life 1 to play.

I remember playing this with a couple of friends, made a whole series about exploring dark and gritty maps like this.
I like to fill this map with scientist and guard npcs then unleash horrors and witness the chaos unfold. I’d only had like 2 fps but it was worth it.

If you haven't, you should definetely play paranoia, one of the greatest single player mods of HL1.
